LOLYes, these do tend to be OOC, but I don't mind, as I wasn't trying to be a canon-nazi, only to tell a story. Bella will play a big part in the next story, as will Harry. :) I should get around to it soon enough.

Well, they aren't much older than fourteen to be honest. I think the late teen years are full of insecurities, jealousies, misunderstandings, etc... such as these.As far as Hermione trying to make certain her husband is happy, I can understand that. It's not like he's Harry or Ron that she can boss around. He's an older, experienced man with a past. While she doesn't fear him, she treats him differently. I enjoy a jealous Snape, and I normally portray him as such. She always seems to respect him so highly in canon and dares not step out of line with him, even when he's a right prick. I just didn't feel that would change much in a relationship. Over time they will grow, though, and she'll come into her own. She's still quite young, only 18 here.I'm 30 and quite a jealous woman on differnt levels. I do hope that doesn't make me appear 14 though. I just think if some person is paying too much attention to my man, she'd better move one quick. (wicked cackle...)Formal language.... Hmmm... Well, sorry you feel that way. I don't know what to say. I thought the characters were quite informal (Ron, Harry, Hooch, etc...), except Snape who doesn't appear informal in canon to me. I always try to have him speaking in a different tone and style than the rest, aside from Dumbledore of course.No, it doesn't sound horrible at all. I've been writing for a long while now, and I know that not every story will please every reader. What I try to convey won't always be seen that way, and I won't slight anyone about it. I do maintain, however, that I'm not trying to mimic canon with my characters. This was my very first Hermione and Snape story that I wrote, so I hadn't found a pattern for them that I was comfortable with. In fact, I'm still searching. Hopefully, you'll continue to read. I originally posted this on another site, and it was well received. I've been slacking in updates here because a friend and I are sort of editing it along the way. But I'll try to be faster about it. I can see your point about their ages ... I'm fairly young [just turned 21 last month] but {and this may be from a biased point of view, lol} I feel like the years between fourteen and eighteen help change a person for the better... although, now looking back on my relationships at eighteen, I must admit that there was an unusual amount of jealousy.  As for the language, it's just certain phrases, and you're right, it's never been with the characters you mentioned.  Just things like "What say you?" or "Think you ..." caught my attention.  It's just ... not common.After I sent my comment, I realised that you might not be trying to follow cannon.  I know that on some of the fanfic sites you can list that as the type of story -- I didn't even think to look!  I just assumed.  I will keep reading, not to worry!!  You've captivated my imagination with this one... I really want to know what's up with Ron and Draco... and the baby!  And Harry!  I *really* like what you're doing with him.  We've always seen him as being a sort of wonderboy, albeit just trying to be a regular teenager, but always fighting the good fight, so to speak.  Thanks for responding.  :)
