Reviews for Havoc of the Opera
Oh, I've been needing my Snape fix, and you leave things *there*?? =)
I think it was hilarious that Harry was all obsessed with making the girls understand exactly what "sort of swirl" he wanted Firmin's robes to have. LOL
Looking forward to the next chapter!!
Response from Roman (Author of Havoc of the Opera)
... Harry is a pro, he is. As for your Snape fix, he features rather prominently in the next two chapters. Hopefully that'll hit the spot? *grin*
LOL at Ron's revenge! I'm glad to understand what the deal was with Ginny and Malfoy. This story is just so good at sucking me in =)
Response from Roman (Author of Havoc of the Opera)
Ron couldn't let that chance slip by, could he?It was a bit of an anticlimactic deal, after all, wasn't it?Hope you like the next one!
Coffee?
Fabulous! Such an ending will make a fantastic beginning for the next chapter.
An avid reader, as always, eagerly awaiting more.
Response from Roman (Author of Havoc of the Opera)
Hee. Glad you're still around. The next is a short (but hpefully instense) one. With Snape in it. He's been away for far too long, wouldn't you say? ;)
Response from Merlinsbeard (Reviewer)
Oh yes, Snape has been missing for far too long
Wow. All I want to know is what that sanctimonious twats alterior motive is. I trust her even less now, not that I liked her in the first place. I don't blame Harry for not hugging her. Does this mean we'll have Snape in the next chapter? Oh, I hope so. I'm assumimng something horrible is going to happen for Harry (concerning Snape). That's what it feels like at any rate. Like that woman is setting him up to be hurt, to teach him a lesson ('thou shalt not be hot for teacher, Harry'). Grrh.....
Response from Roman (Author of Havoc of the Opera)
... oh, if only the worlds would collide and I could see you and Hermione in the same room.
Response from lilyginny27 (Reviewer)
LOL... oh, that makes me smile. I find it incredibly ironic since I usually ship SS/HG. But for some reason since DH came out, I've just been finding her an incredible twat, and you write her so well! I can't help myself. *sigh* I'd prefer to be left in the same room with Snape. That's my Christmas wish.*snerk*
YEAH!!! An update! okay my dearest author, spill-- what's got Snape's knickers in a bind this time with Draco and Hermione? **throws roses at your feet** thanks for the update!
Response from Roman (Author of Havoc of the Opera)
You're very welcome--could it be that I might get a few more chapters up before the year's over? *hopes*
OK so we had to get that all staightened out. I am still looking forward to finding out what is making Hermione ill. And the production of this musical. Are you a playwrite? That would be interesting.
Response from Roman (Author of Havoc of the Opera)
The (very cliché simple, really) reason for Hermione's illness is up next. And then, it's back to the boards. :)Not a playwright, though I do love to stick my nose in a text's dramaturgy every now and then. I'm only just beginning my career as the very dreaded... producer. *eerie music*
That wasn't so bad. I had a feeling blackmail was probably involved somewhere with Malfoy in the picture. Teehee...I think the know-it-all's jealous... Does this mean the next chapter will have Snape in it? I miss him.
Response from Roman (Author of Havoc of the Opera)
Sorry for taking such a long time in answering. I figured you'd enjoy seeing her squirm--Snape is definitely in the one that is up next. He.
Interesting to see where this will lead. And Snape is right in this respect-- Harry is using Snape as a crutch, a father-figure. COurse, Glamors do work well in this society and every so often you have to wonder if maybe Snape and not James, was the donor-- dumb dumb dumb, , , , ,(or with Law and Order ((dump dump))
Response from Roman (Author of Havoc of the Opera)
Hello! Snape as a--eeep, such a bad mental image.I don't think any post-OotP fic can have a relationship between Harry and Snape that doesn't eventually bump into their respective feelings for Sirius. It might have happened if JKR hadn't decided that Sirius was to suddenly become the single most important person in Harry's life--but hey, I'm playing in her sandbox. I can't complain, can I? :)
I think that this chapter was absolutely brilliant.
Response from Roman (Author of Havoc of the Opera)
Hi, there! I'm so glad you liked it. Let me know what you think of the rest.
I can see why you liked this chapter. All Harry and Snape! And that last line...Harry really does need to move past losing Sirius before he can think of any other type of love, and I think Snape just gave him the key to understanding that. Very moving. And I'm glad Snape doesn't want to be his father. :-)
Response from Roman (Author of Havoc of the Opera)
In his defence, Harry's not interested in being his son, either. ;)The remaining chapters revolve much more around Harry. Hermione and Ginny each get the resolution of their plotlines, but the rest is all about Harry, Snape and the performances.
Response from lilyginny27 (Reviewer)
Oh, good! I don't know why, but I've just been craving more Harry love lately. I'm glad to hear the story will be centering more on him at this point. And Snape. *sigh*I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that Hermione ends up with Malfoy. I haven't forgotten that plot, though I won't hold it against you if she doesn't. :-)
OK, I liked that better than the last one, but I don't think I agree with Snape. Sirius was certainly not a father, and Harry never thought that about him. Sirius was a large child.
Response from Roman (Author of Havoc of the Opera)
Oh, I absolutely agree with you. Sirius, as popular a character as he is, has never (in my eyes) been strong enough a father figure to warrant Harry's lingering devastation at his passing. I can understand that, as the "official" best friend to his dad, Sirius would gain a special place in Harry's heart as soon as he was shown to be innocent, but from that to Harry's reaction in OotP... He and Sirius were virtual strangers, even Lupin was a stronger link to Harry's parents. [/rant]Sorry. I'm not terribly fond of Sirius. I tend to ramble on when attacking discussing his actual importance in Harry's life.
Response from blue artemis (Reviewer)
I have to agree with you about Harry's response to Sirius. It seemed contrived and overblown. But Remus? He didn't stick around, he didn't contact Harry or anything, even when he could. And then in the last book, the way he treated his WIFE? Snape is probably the best and most constant of the bunch. I really am not a Marauders fan.
You are brilliant.I don't know if I have read a single chapter anywhere that gave so much. sigh
Response from Roman (Author of Havoc of the Opera)
Oh, thank you...!I do treasure this chapter, so, it's always interesting for me to see what people thought of it, what worked and what didn't work for them. Thanks.
sniffle... sniff... sniff...BAWWWWW!That was worth waiting for.
Response from Roman (Author of Havoc of the Opera)
Aw. *hands hankie* I'm glad. Sirius would eventually have to come up, innit?
Gosh, the more I read your Hermione, the more I don't like her. For someone so smart, she can be incredibly dense sometimes, just like canon! And poor Harry...Snape really is afraid of him, or at least, afraid of himself when he is around Harry. I love that little spell you came up with. A ghostly warmth *sigh*
Response from Roman (Author of Havoc of the Opera)
Oh, poor Hermione... I didn't mean for her to come off as quite so dense... though matters of the heart really seem to be foreign to her.Paraphrasing Alan Rickman, who knows what Snape's thinking about anything... ;)
Ooooh what question? What question?
Okay, yes I'm a little confused in places..............who was Ginny meant to be meeting and was she the girl in the corridor, just disguised. Why was she arguing with Dean. Is it Draco that Hermione wants..........................you know just a few questions of my own.
Excellent writing though and I'm definitely looking forward to more.
Response from Roman (Author of Havoc of the Opera)
Knowing Harry, not a very wise question, as you can imagine. ;)Well, I can tell you Ginny's not the girl in the corridor. It's simpler than that (and it will all be cleared up eventually).
Ah wands, you gotta love em. And all your mysterious tense dialogue is great. So we are getting a little more Dean too? everyone is playing a part eh?
Response from Roman (Author of Havoc of the Opera)
... absolutely everyone. Hee.Dean had to step into the spotlight at some point, poor thing--being an integral part of the Ginny subplot and all...
I think this is starting to make me more confused than interested. I will see how I feel after the next chapter.
Response from Roman (Author of Havoc of the Opera)
Oh... I'm sorry I'm losing you. :( But I do appreciate the honesty. *takes notes* My very favourite chapter is up next, but I'm sadly not sure it'll change your mind...
My dear Roman, this is so satisfying! I've been ignoring updates of this story up until now (featured...must be a reason...), and it is a delight. Snape in this chapter is simply charming. Keep this up. You gave yourself another devoted reader.
Response from Roman (Author of Havoc of the Opera)
Hee, a new reader! Thanks for dropping me a word. I hope you enjoy the rest of the read.Charming Snape, eh.
Awww. I can't wait to find out what Snape is thinking. I hope he doesn't break Harrys heart.
Response from Roman (Author of Havoc of the Opera)
Harry seems to be forgetting that Snape hasn't quite been known to care about people's hearts...
Harry really is all over the place. And I'm guessing that they are not after the same Slytherin. Hermione likes Draco?
Response from Roman (Author of Havoc of the Opera)
... Harry doesn't think so at all. What an unimaginative little hero.
Oh, you have me completely stumped on who-likes-who.Poor put-upon Harry, not receiving the attention he so craves. Will Hermione invite him to dine in the dungeons? Will he do something 'stupid' to gain the attention of the potions master? Did Snape take his apology in class as broader (i.e. 'sorry for kissing you) than the moment? And I don't think they are after the same Slytherin. Hermione likes Malfoy or she wouldn't go out of her way to avoid him. Thanks for the update.
Response from Roman (Author of Havoc of the Opera)
>>Will he do something 'stupid' to gain the attention of the potions master?Yes.I don't have you so stumped, after all. :) You're still full of theories. Love it!
Oh, I LOVE that last line. Wonderful!
Response from Roman (Author of Havoc of the Opera)
Oh, you're one of those who pay close attention to the last lines? Hmm!
Response from Fawkes_07 (Reviewer)
*snerk* I just loved the utter teen angst notion that Harry would wonder if even Voldy had forgotten him. What a crackup.
Ooooh this is so good. The angst! The jealousy! I love it.
Response from Roman (Author of Havoc of the Opera)
Yay, I'm happy to hear it!... if you like jealousy, chapter 16 is tailor-made for you, is all I'm saying.
OUCH!! And Sev SO deserved that, the weenie. This story is just a HOOT. Eagerly awaiting next chapter.
Response from Roman (Author of Havoc of the Opera)
Hee! So good to hear that. Well, at least Harry was the focus of Severus' attention during that moment.
Oh my! I hope Snape is jealous! Erjealous of Hermione that is. This story is getting ever more interesting! I hope Harry is deluding himself about Hermione/Snape, but there is a lot of suggestive evidence. . .
Hmmm. . . I can't wait to read more!
Response from Roman (Author of Havoc of the Opera)
Yes, is it all in Harry's overactive mind, or is it not? Eh, glad that you find the doubt gripping. The next one shouldn't be much longer (... there is a lot of Hermione in it, though).
