Reviews for Geneamorology
Thank you for the update. I am a bit unsure about your Severus, I must admit that. He is either a selfish prat who choses the easy way out, or a DeathEater just waiting for a new Dark Lord to help him destroy other people lives once more. I belive, so far, that my first guess describe him the most, but with quite a bit of description two too. I went back to read the warning for this story, and now noticed the warnings "Characther Death, Murder". I hope that if Hermione of Severus are one of those who gets killed, you will do it soon and finish the story (not much fan of spending time reading a story that interest me just to have one or more of the 'heroes" killed in the last chapter, its such a waist of time) and if one of them is to murder the other, please make Hermione murder Severus, Fics where the evil side wins are even more annoying than the mentioned ones where some of the "heroes" dies. Update again soon!
Response from septentrion (Author of Geneamorology)
You've got this Severus spot on! I couldn't describe him better myself. I'd just add: he's a human side, but he's very blind about it.
As for the warning, they were for the first chapter, for the murder of McGonagall. Hermione and Severus will survive, have no fear for them.
Thanks for letting me know your opinion.
Excellent!Hermione is going to be really angry when she sobers up.I can't wait to see what the Weasley's say.
Response from septentrion (Author of Geneamorology)
Oh, she will be pissed, and not in the drunken sense of the word. As for the Weasleys, still a couple of chapters before their reaction.
Ooh, sneaky. Very sneaky. And illegal?
Response from septentrion (Author of Geneamorology)
Nearly illegal and utterly sneaky. Thanks for reading.
nice =)
Response from septentrion (Author of Geneamorology)
Thank you.
Response from septentrion (Author of Geneamorology)
Thank you.
I love this story very much! At the moment I'm in a thight knot of anxiety, thinking in a lot of my free-time, wheter he will be good or bad or grey :)To read hear about a truly selfish Snape who is non the less very likeable is a huge relief! And the parody of some Snape-fandom-klischees are hilarious (Potter'r reaction at the trial). Looking forward to the next chapter!
Response from septentrion (Author of Geneamorology)
Those are so kind words. I see this Snape exactly like that: very selfish ("my skin first"), but very human too. As for the parody, I couldn't help it ;)
i'm loving this story so much i tried to read it in french, but alas my french has gotten rusty and i was unable to make out over half of it...guess i'll just ahve to wait for the translated version!!!!!!
Response from septentrion (Author of Geneamorology)
I appreciate so much your trying to read it in French; it touches me very much. I'll try to keep up with an update per week. Thanks for reading.
sneaky jerk. I take it for the purposes of this story Severus isn't a good guy?
Response from septentrion (Author of Geneamorology)
He isn't a good guy at all, though he's very human and kind of likeable. Thanks for reading.
ohhh are we suggesting in the Holy Grail of fandom that Severus may not be a good guy? Very original. keep up the good work!
Response from septentrion (Author of Geneamorology)
I do suggest that he is not a good guy, at least in this fic. But he's also deeply human, though this will be more obvious later. Thank you for reading.
Ahhh, now I see where you're going. Intriguing.
I'm not sure this will be a traditional 'saved by the love of a good woman' fic. ;-D
Response from septentrion (Author of Geneamorology)
This certainly won't be a 'saved by the love of a good woman' fic. Severus is past redemption at this point. Yet Hermione is the woman for him. How? You'll see.
I sense trouble for the young lovers! Someday Ron will learn to listen to Hermione!!
Response from septentrion (Author of Geneamorology)
But it will be too late. Thanks for reading.
OMG, I love this. Such a wonderful way to address how Snape claimed innocence to keep himself out of Azkaban while still addressing that he is truely a Death Eater.Bravo for creativety (and storytelling of course!)
Response from septentrion (Author of Geneamorology)
**blush** It was so much fun to write this really horrible and really human Snape.
Snape the funny bad guy... this should be interesting! I always like your stories; they have such neat twists and you write a wonderful Snape.
Response from septentrion (Author of Geneamorology)
Thank you! I hope you'll like the twists to come.
The Weasleys are so numerous that one always has to be specific. Too true!
I love Severus's ongoing commentary in this. It makes me wish that he was the narrator in canon.
Somehow I get the feeling that Ron is going to regret following tradition...
Response from septentrion (Author of Geneamorology)
Wouldn't we all wish for Severus being the narrator in canon? Well, if Jo won't do it, we will ;)Ron will suffer from his decision for sure, but in some persons, tradition and cultural pressure overwhelm personal decisions so much that they can't go over them.In the next chapter, Hermione as the narrator will appear, along with Severus.Thaks for reading.
How can Snape be such a complete jerk and so completely funny at the same time? I don't know but it's hilarious. Whatever is going to happen when Hermione takes the tests (wink wink)?
Response from septentrion (Author of Geneamorology)
That's one of the best compliments I could receive about this fic. There's humour all along the fic, though its quality will change with circumstances. As for the tests, chapter three is all about them.
Severus Snape, the Selfoutslytherined Slytherin ;-)
I can't wait for next chapters.
Response from septentrion (Author of Geneamorology)
LOL you've got a way with words!
Response from Bawetta (Reviewer)
Thanks :-)
This is really kind of amusing. Snape has trapped himself by being sneaky?
Response from septentrion (Author of Geneamorology)
He's been "outsneaked" indeed. Thanks for reading.
~giggles~ It's fun to read this without a critical eye, just as a fan. I just love Snape's inner snark. It makes the narrative voice that much more alive.
Tsk... Too bad, it looks like the battle didn't allow him to dispatch the last Marauder, as he seemed to hope after killing Wormtail. He's lucky his interrogation tactics (and possible Legilimency on the side) provided him with enough information, or else he would have been in hot water when the Wizengamot asked for specifics.
Every time I come across the passage detailing Harry's gratitude, and Snape's reaction to it, I can't rein in my laughter.
I never said that Dumbledore was my best friend, did I? Hee! I'm guessing half the time, people only hear what they want to hear anyway -- the press needed to turn Severus into the tragic spy. ^_^
Response from septentrion (Author of Geneamorology)
It's nice to know you're not only the beta, but a fan as well. and you're right, people nearly always hear what they want to hear.
O.M.G.
This is so chilling.
Snape doesn't get much darker than yours.
I hope you know where you're going with this.
The worst part? Treading on McGonagall's body. :shudder:
Response from septentrion (Author of Geneamorology)
I'm glad you find him chilling. I know where I go, the story is complete in French. If it makes you feel better, Severus doesn't kill when unecessary.
Response from missblue (Reviewer)
I have considered reading the story in French, but I am afraid I might miss some nuances. Hmmmm.
Response from septentrion (Author of Geneamorology)
You can read it in French and try the English chapters afterward. I haven't made a literal, word for word translation, but I have rather strived translate the meaning.BTW I've just answered your comment on my lj.
Oooh, this is great! I love reading Dark!Snape. I'm very much looking forward to your next updatE
Response from septentrion (Author of Geneamorology)
He's dakr indeed, but very human too. That's how I've tried to write him.
I'm very interested to see where you take your dark, devious Snape!
Response from septentrion (Author of Geneamorology)
I'm so glad to see you reading this. I'll take him to romance, but not the usual kind of romance. Of course, romance in Severus' book isn't called that, and involves a lot of plotting.
Taking advantage of Wormtail's treason. How very Slytherin! I look forward to seeing what happens next!
Response from septentrion (Author of Geneamorology)
Thank you.
So far this is refreshingly original. I love OutForHimself!Snape. So much better than Sentimental! or DeathlyLoyal! by way of plot fun. And just to be fangirlish, OMGUPDATESOONPLZ!!!1!-because it really is just that good.
Response from septentrion (Author of Geneamorology)
I'm glad you think so. That was certainly what I wanted to do: have fun with a not too circumvoluted plot.
Response from septentrion (Author of Geneamorology)
I forgot: I'll update once a week. The story is complete in French and the translation well on its way, so you can expect regular updates.
Response from zambonigirl (Reviewer)
You're making me wish I knew French!Anyway, sorry that my review is really sucky, but I wrote it at the end of my workday. I can't claim to be more coherent at the moment, but it really is a great beginning, and I'm anticipating next week!
I like the idea of the turnrobe. And to take Peter's help as his own idea was truly Slytherin.
Response from septentrion (Author of Geneamorology)
If you like manipulative, Slytherin Severus, you'll have plenty in this story. He'll be plotting a lot.
Superb writing, great laughs ensued. I appreciate out of the ordinary stories. Great writing!
Response from septentrion (Author of Geneamorology)
I'm glad you liked it and that it made you laugh. Thank you for reading.
