Reviews for Geneamorology
Hm, Hermione should only know how close she came to have Plan A working, then she migth not have given up on the idea so quickly. Then again, since Severus guessed what she was up to, she probably wouldn't manage to trick him anytime soon:-) But, five years is a long time, maybe she will manage to teach him a lesson or two during those years.
Response from septentrion (Author of Geneamorology)
It would comfort her to know, even though she's lost any chance to trick Severus now.
It's a long time indeed. Anything may happen.
Heee! Poor Hermione, her plotting simply wasn't enough this time! How does someone out-Slytherin the Head Slytherin?
Response from septentrion (Author of Geneamorology)
At least, she starts thinking like him; that's why he could detect her manoeuvre. Thanks for reading.
Nice first try, but not nearly subtle enough. Back to the drawing board, Hermione.
Response from septentrion (Author of Geneamorology)
She's still learning. Now, it's time for plan B.
Well, she gave it the 'ole college try. Humerous to say the least. I can't wait for more....
Response from septentrion (Author of Geneamorology)
Thank you. The next chapter is still with my beta, so you'll have to wait a bit.
I suspect Hermione might find her priorities have changed after five years of good conversation and satisfying sex, hmm?
Response from septentrion (Author of Geneamorology)
Absolutely, and after something else too. But don't expect them to be a nice couple with romantic dinners and exchange of presents.
Poor delusioned Hermione.
Response from septentrion (Author of Geneamorology)
Indeed, but she'll learn to give as good as she gets.
A very interesting chapter. So, five years for Severus to do his utmost to wrap Hermione around his finger. Or will it be the other way around?
Besides, I can learn a lot about “manipulating people” in five years.
You keep telling yourself that it's just to further the house-elves' cause, Hermione! That sounded delightfully Slytherin of her, regardless.
Response from septentrion (Author of Geneamorology)
It's called "rationalisation".
Five years, or less... I guess they'll wrap themselves around each other without acknowledging the fact. They'll never be a conventional couple.
Response from ayerf (Reviewer)
Can Severus and Hermione be a conventional couple even in a more typical fic?
Response from septentrion (Author of Geneamorology)
On some sites that will-not-be-named?
Seriously, I think they can. It's all in the characterisation.
Really good!! Very realistic and it has several funny parts! Kisses
Response from septentrion (Author of Geneamorology)
Thank you very much ♥
Brilliant update, I loved Hermiones words at the end about using sex to keep her docile. Not even Severus can be so naive or ignorant that he forgets who he has married:-))
Response from septentrion (Author of Geneamorology)
Hermione's just given him quite the reminder ;) thanks for reading.
What a great new chapter, with Severus being sexy in spite of his pushiness to consumate. Loved Hermione's comeback:
“If you wished to use sex to make me as docile as a doggie, you can go hang yourself.”
You go, GRRRRRRL! (You AND Hermione)
Response from septentrion (Author of Geneamorology)
She knows enough to guess he would be tempted to manipulate her through sex. Thanks for your comment.
Well, that could have been worse...not much, though. That was a great chapter. I think that you did a good job portraying the various character's emotions. Nicely done.
Response from septentrion (Author of Geneamorology)
Thank you. It could have been worse indeed, if Severus had outright raped her for example, though this was not for from coercion.
The first thing that came to mind at the end of this chapter:
"Wham, bam, thankya ma'am!"
Honestly - what was Snape thinking? Leaving so soon - does he want Hermione to make his life miserable over the next few days? And here I thought he was intelligent...lol!
I'm so curious now about where's he's off to in such a hurry...
Response from septentrion (Author of Geneamorology)
Snape left because he had an appointment with one of his fishy acquaintances (yes, on his wedding day, but some things are just that important), and because Hermione caught him off guard and he doesn't like it at all. Thanks for reviewing.

Ooh, I'm looking forward to the rest of this!
Author's Response: Thank you.
Well, well this marriage certainly started off on the left foot. Merlin, are they hard headed! You are doing such a wonderful job bringing out their personalities.
Response from septentrion (Author of Geneamorology)
Thank you. I never said this would be an easy and blissful marriage.
I have to say, the humorous overlay is slipping here (or maybe "torn off" is a more apt description). ManipulativeSeverus is only a hair away from abusive in this chapter. The sex was certainly very questionable in terms of consentuality and, in spite of their apparent physical compatibility, it left me cold.I imagine (and fervently hope) that Hermione will want (and get) revenge for his treatment of her. She seems to have backslid into the powerless whiner she was at the beginning of the story. HelplessHermione annoyed me quite a lot and I was glad to see her go. Please tell me that she's not going to let Snape dictate to her...
Response from septentrion (Author of Geneamorology)
Thanks for your frank and constructive review. It was difficult to remain humourous in this chapter indeed. I tried, but not completely managed to. Hopefully, the humour will be back in the next chapter.
Severus will be more than once a hair away from abusive. Hermione will react, but I fear not the way you'd like her. She's not the powerless whiner she'd been, but she isn't the goddess of vengeance either. Instead, she'll try to manipulate the situation, and with time and more experience, she's supposed to manage some manipulation of her own on her husband. I tried not to make her spineless (and I must thank my beta who's been a great help in this). Tell me your opinion about it in the next chapters, please.
Strangely, your comment about the sex leaving you cold pleases me. I really had intended for the scene to be hot (which is the opinion of some readers), but you've made me realise that I have conveyed more than just sex in that scene, and I wasn't conscious of it.
Oh, this one was hilarious. "Docile as a doggie?" I love it! Can't wait for more!
Response from septentrion (Author of Geneamorology)
Thank you.
Nothing quite like 'get up, get in, get down, get out' to make one feel used. Why do I think Hermione is not going to respond well to that kind of treatment?
Response from septentrion (Author of Geneamorology)
Well, she might accept the pleasure, but never accepts this kind of treatment. Severus will find out that he doesn't have all the power in his marriage. Thanks for reading.
When do You plan posting next chapter? I'm dying of curiosity...
Response from septentrion (Author of Geneamorology)
The next chapter is in the queue. It should be up today or tomorrow. Your question is so gratifying... Thanks for reading.
Response from Bawetta (Reviewer)
Thanks. I really couldn't wait and have been so dissapointed on montay, tuestady and today, that there is no update
Response from septentrion (Author of Geneamorology)
I'm sorry, but I had to wait for my beta to go back from holiday before I could think of loading the chapter to the site. I'll try to be back on a regular schedule from now on.
Response from Bawetta (Reviewer)
Ok. There is something about absence and fondness of heart ;-)
Very sneaky Hermione, the way she's maneuvering to annoy Severus so he'll divorce her. He sees it, but does he see the extent of it? I look forward to seeing what comes next!
Response from septentrion (Author of Geneamorology)
He doesn't see the extent of it... yet. Thanks for reading!
I really enjoy this story. You've kept Severus completely within character and found a plausible reason to throw him and Hermione together with marriage as the ultimate destination. I usually find marriage fics difficult to swallow, but this one is absolutely charming. Well done.
Response from septentrion (Author of Geneamorology)
Thanks for this nice review! I thought this version of Severus couldn't marry for another reason that self-interest.
Wow. Hermione is so naive that's cute.
And so careless. First she drinks strong alcohol she is not acustomed to in presence of the Death Eater in at least conspicous circumstances. Second - she comes alone to said Death Eater's home hungover and unrepared. Can she make even bigger supidity?
Great chapter, I hope the concract is valid
Response from septentrion (Author of Geneamorology)
When you go through depression, however shortlived it might be, you don't really care about circumstances and consequences. That's what happened to her. Severus caught her in a very delicate moment.
Response from Bawetta (Reviewer)
Yes. But still her behavior has a lot to do with her Gryffindor nature and relatively small life experience.
Response from septentrion (Author of Geneamorology)
There is that too. Had she been but two or three years older, Severus wouldn't have stood a chance.
Response from Bawetta (Reviewer)
Or had she be more familiar with Slytherin tactics.
thank you sooooo much for updating today! i just had the worst day at work, and was sooo happy to come home and find the update waiting for me on my computer. poor hermoine, snape can be such a greasy bastard
Response from septentrion (Author of Geneamorology)
That's such a nice thing to say. I hope your next day will be better.
She's SUCH a Gryffindor. I'd take the bargain.
Response from septentrion (Author of Geneamorology)
But she doesn't know Severus as we do. Thanks for reading.
Personally, I'd string him up by his whatsamicallits. What a schmuck! Sic'em Hermione.
Response from septentrion (Author of Geneamorology)
You would have to catch him first... Thanks for reading.
He's so sneaky! I love the way you write Snape. I can't wait for the next chapter!
Response from septentrion (Author of Geneamorology)
Thank you! I shall submit the next installment within two days.
