lux_astraeaRemus is meeting Hermione's parents for the first time. How he feels, and what happens after. A series of short drabbles. (Higher rating for later chapters.)

Part Two – An Introduction
They arrived at the front door, knocking lightly, having Apparated further down the street.
“Hermione? Oh, it is you.” Her mother opened the door with a smile. “And this must be Remus. It’s nice to finally meet you!”
“It’s lovely to meet you, too, Mrs Granger,” Remus replied with a shy smile.
“Don’t be daft,” she laughed. “Call me ‘Jane’. As long as you don’t mind me calling you ‘Remus’ that is?”
“It’s perfectly fine, Mrs Gr… I mean, Jane,” Remus replied.
“Well, come in then. Dinner’s almost ready.” She opened the door fully and ushered them inside.
Once inside, a voice from an open doorway a little down the corridor spoke, “Ah, you’re here.”
“Hey, dad.”
“Come give your old dad a hug then, Pastry.” He grinned.
“Daaad,” Hermione moaned. “You know I hate that name.”
“Well, you chose it!” he replied.
Hermione turned to Remus, seeing a puzzled half grin on his face. She sighed; only her father would embarrass her like that.
“Our daughter here took it upon herself to come up with a reason against all the nicknames I came up with when she was younger,” her father began to explain.
“He doesn’t need to know this,” Hermione said, a deep blush staining her cheeks. Remus found he rather liked it.
“I once called her ‘Pumpkin’, and she told me it was wrong to call her that as she hated pumpkin and didn’t eat it. Well, that was true,” he grinned. He obviously loved teasing his only daughter, “but she absolutely loved pastry at the time and would eat that, leaving the filling of every pie her mother baked untouched. So, that’s what I called her, and it stuck.”
Remus laughed. It so was typically Hermione to argue against something like that.

I hope to hell Hermione didnt tell her parents he is a dangerous magical creature! that is the kind of thing that can upset a parent straight off!

Well I think she'd be tactful enough to leave that part out until, say, after they're married. :)

If this is your first story ...then welldone you! Most people follow canon pairings or favour HG/SS ( I must admit I'm one of them!)...but reading this Hermione and Remus fit together so well.I think we all secretly hanker after a bit of wolf ! This is a nicely written 'gentle' fic, congrats to you and your beta.I will be waiting for more of the same.

Yes, this was my first story and thank you for your kind words!! I do have a tendency to read/write ss/hg normally but for some reason the plot bunny for this one bit hard and wouldn't let go.

It's sort of an unwritten rule to embarrass children. Or so my dad seems to think, the amount of times he's done that kind of thing. I'm glad my childhood nickname isn't that bad though.Thanks for reviewing!

Aww thanks. Yeah, too many RL things happend and it's taken me ages to get round to updating. But that's mostly sorted now so updates won't be as long in coming!~lux-astraea~
I believe I answered him before she did last time. ^.~ But I suppose since she was there in the tub with him and I wasn't, I'll let her Yes take the place of mine. heheI was so tickled to see this update this morning. I LOVE these drabbles. They've all been so sweet. And of course now I must add HAWTT to that description. His need for her to keep repeating herself was cute. I can totally see him needing to "keep" hearing it. And that he was withholding until she did repeat again and again was pretty sneaky of him. At least they both (and WE) got the payoff that was supposed to be. ^.^Just great. Can't wait for After.

I knew that she'd say yes. I love how he keeps getting her to say it over and over. I do hope that you are still around and will finish this Series of Events up. I've rather enjoyed it.
That was rather impulsive, wasn't it? Something tells me she won't say no.
Test #1 passed, so lets see how the rest of it goes. Nothing like a 'relaxing' bath after an evening like that. :)
Nice to see that went well and I love that her mom is reading Lockhart's books. I can definitely see Remus and Hermione having a good laugh about him.

Poor Remus. Meeting the parents is hard, moreso when you have a dark secret and are a much older man dating their little girl.

I don't really read this ship, normally. I'm sure that if I did, though, it would be nice. It is a really good story, though.
