A foul curse cast on Hermione and Ginny leaves them forced to search out one vital ingredient from their soul mates. Will Draco and Severus help them in their time of need? This is my response to a Potter Place Winter Prompt Challenge.

Reviews for One Vital Ingredient
An emotional rollercoaster of a story (I know that is a quote from somewhere, but I cannot remember where) with a great ending. I loved it.

On the couch already.. poor Sev. Don't worry, we can only hope things get better.
Response from cocoachristy (Author of One Vital Ingredient)
LOL! Keep going...
I like peter, he reminds my of my younger brother who, as much as i love him, is a little shit. and he also reminds me of my dad... both of them are irriating lol.
anyway update soon.
Response from cocoachristy (Author of One Vital Ingredient)
LOL Thanks

! I like him too!More coming soon!
What a great chapter. I love that everybody was "together" but "not". heheh Poor Peter. So much anger and frustration at life for one little boy. But I do think he and Lucius need each other. And I LOVE how Draco "Dad"ded Lucius into seriously considering it.I think my favorite part was what Draco walked in on and his reaction to it. Too funny. And Pansy sure handled the situation with aplomb. Good girl. All just too cute. I'm sorry to see it coming to a close too, but it'll just be another one that I'll be back to visit often. ^.^

Thanks

! I wanted to show a little of them all!Yeah, Peter needs someone. Yep, Draco has his ways! TeeheeRight, as HP/PP didn't advertise they were going out, it was shocking to him--to them both! Glad you like my Pansy! :D More up soon!
methinks, after reading this chappie, that the one vital ingredient is, for everyone in the story, love. And Family. Oops, that's two *grin* heartwarming, but it sure balances the angst.
Response from cocoachristy (Author of One Vital Ingredient)
Thanks so much ylang! That was a lovely thing to say!
Ooo! Births you say? How exciting!
Response from cocoachristy (Author of One Vital Ingredient)
Thanks! Yep! Births next!
That is a rather bright boy. Poor little thing. That was portrayed quite well. Children get some ideas quite cemented in their heads and it is hard on them when that fantasy is shattered.
Response from cocoachristy (Author of One Vital Ingredient)
Thanks blue! Yeah, I think kids little ideas in their minds, especially when they are in tough situations. It would be hard to have your bubble burst like that.
Hey I was waiting for that particular update for a while and have to stop myself from reviewing some others stories I have read for a few days now. Here it is my hundredth review on the Petulant Poetess and I wanted to share it with you. I also want to say that I'm a bit disappointed you didn't win the Potter Place Winter 2007 Prompt Challenge cause your fic is for me the best. As for this chapter as ever it's really great. Also a bit sad that it's almost finished but every story needs an end I suppose.
Response from cocoachristy (Author of One Vital Ingredient)
WOW! Thanks so much
Response from cocoachristy (Author of One Vital Ingredient)
! I appreciate you wanting me to win--that is very sweet. Yep, it's sad but I have a great plot bunny for the summer challenge, so stay tuned! ;-)
*very* sentimental chapter ... I'm being a sap today, and wanted you to know that I enjoyed this one. :-)
Response from cocoachristy (Author of One Vital Ingredient)
Thanks
Response from cocoachristy (Author of One Vital Ingredient)
! I am very happy you enjoyed!
I saw, I read, I reviewed....
I was pleased that it was suggested that Lucius adopt the boy and not Draco or Severus... there really is too much going on in their lives to add another stressor to it. Good move. ;)
And it looks like all of the pieces are falling into place neatly. Very nice.
Response from cocoachristy (Author of One Vital Ingredient)
:DYep, I thought of all them, and Lucius is the most logical to me.Glad you like!
Another lovely chapter! Now we have all couples and all friendships back on track. :) I love how you portrayed Draco and Pansy's friendship. And poor Peter - I hope he and Lucius will help each other heal.
The births are next! Yay! I look forward to that chapter! :)
Response from cocoachristy (Author of One Vital Ingredient)
Thanks sshg! I think that Draco and Pansy must be similiar to Ron/Hermione/Harry, and that they would truly care for one another!I am going to try to start the next one tonight!
I think it's brilliant to have Lucius adopt Pete (although with names like Lucius, Draco, Narcissa and Ginevra in the family he will have to be given a properly stuffy nickname...one befitting a Malfoy!). I think both of them will find the healing and love they've both been looking for. What about the antidote for the curse? I know they need the newborn blood for it but is the a time restiction on how quickly it has to be drawn? Severus better have taught Draco what to do in case the girls aren't around each other when they go into labor. Oh well, I guess I have to wait to find out. Patience is a virtue and I'm not very virtuous.Hugs and Kisses to you and Southern for another great chapter. XOXO
Response from cocoachristy (Author of One Vital Ingredient)
Thanks
Response from cocoachristy (Author of One Vital Ingredient)
! Yep. poor Pete will be the odd man out where names are concerned in that family! They both need someone, and underneath it all, Lucius loves being a father!Well, when they are within a certain time of the due date, Severus will make what he can until the births and likely have it on statis. They will be fine! ;-)
Yay! Update! That's an innovative solution for both Lucius and Pete. Lucius does seem to need someone to focus on, and though he'll be thrilled with his grandchild, it's not quite the same as having someone depend on you directly, I'm sure.
Response from cocoachristy (Author of One Vital Ingredient)
Thanks firefly! That's true. He needs someone to love that needs him and needs to be loved. Draco loves him, but does not need him, if that makes sense.
What a great idea to have Lucius adopt Pete. I think it will help both of them so much. You have woven such a great story, with people that normaly do not relate to each other, but they fit together so well in this story and yet are themselves to a certain degree. I like the changes in them.Looking forward to the next chapter, the births should be very interesting.
Response from cocoachristy (Author of One Vital Ingredient)
Thanks so much! I am so happy that you are enjoying all of my characters/couples rather than just our favorite! I am going to start the next chapter tonight if I can, my daugthers school chorus has their concert tonight!
It's a great chapter coco, and well worth the wait!
Response from cocoachristy (Author of One Vital Ingredient)

What a great chapter, and what a brilliant idea to have Lucius adopting Pete. I didn't see that comming, but the idea is brilliant!I also look forward for the births, please update soon:-))
Response from cocoachristy (Author of One Vital Ingredient)
Thank you
Response from cocoachristy (Author of One Vital Ingredient)
! I am so glad you enjoyed and that most didn't see Lucius adopting Pete coming! Glad when I can still surprise!More up soon!
Another great chapter. I can't wait for the next chapter and the babies.
Response from cocoachristy (Author of One Vital Ingredient)
Thanks barbie! I hope to start it tonight!
Thanks for the new chapter!! Poor Peter is going to be disillusioned when Pansy marries the hated Potter. I do think Lucius would be best for him, as there is no other child at Malfoy Manor for Peter to be insecure over, plus Lucius is going through a loss just as Peter is. I like how Ginny quickly figured out what was upsetting Pansy, and recognized her husband's cluelessness; it's good for her to see that Draco is clueless about other women's feelings, not just Ginny's - despite his having known Pansy for years. How far along in their pregnancies are Ginny and Hermione? Looking forward to the next chapter!
Response from cocoachristy (Author of One Vital Ingredient)
Thanks June! I think it may be a little easier on him once he moves in with Lucius. Yeah, even though she's not quite sure about how she feels about Pansy, Ginny knows how Draco does because of the talk they had the night of the party. So she wanted them to work things out. They are around seven months in this chapter... Going to move forward a bit in the next chapter.
The good old breakfast club theme song, takes me back to high school, ugh I should leave you a flaming review cause I can't get the stinking song out of my head now, lol. Well that wasn't what I expected for Lucius, but I guess it could work, I just hope he doesn't turn this one into a spoiled little ferret. Can't wait for the births, hope the next chapter gets to us quickly.
Response from cocoachristy (Author of One Vital Ingredient)
LOL I loved The Breakfast Club! teehee! Yeah, Lucius needs a purpose and someone he can love, and so does Peter. Of course he will spoil him! Draco turned out all right, didn't he? In my fic anyway! ;-)
~grins~ another good chapter, doll. You know I love it, and I'm so happy about little Peter and Lucius. I'm also happy that everyone seems to be coming together here.
Response from cocoachristy (Author of One Vital Ingredient)
Thanks so much! It means a lot to me coming from you! :D
I loved it! Yes I can kind of understand Lucius. And I'm so happy and loving the way SS/HG and DM/GW and now Pansy and Harry's stories are playing ut. It's so enjoyable to red.. Great job, hon.
Response from cocoachristy (Author of One Vital Ingredient)
Thank you
Response from cocoachristy (Author of One Vital Ingredient)
! Glad you understand LM better now! Yep our major couples are back where they should be! Glad you enjoy HP/PP!
well it does show why he is the way he is....redeems him a little, but we'll have to wait and see. looks like harry and pansy are in for a world wind romance.......stories not over yet is it????
Response from cocoachristy (Author of One Vital Ingredient)
Thanks
Response from cocoachristy (Author of One Vital Ingredient)
! I do love a snarky LM! LOL Nope not over yet... More coming!
Loved the grieiving scene with Lucius. But you knew that. :D
Response from cocoachristy (Author of One Vital Ingredient)
Thanks
Response from cocoachristy (Author of One Vital Ingredient)
! Glad you enjoyed my LM! I think it made him a bit more human! :D
Never thought I'd shed a tear over Lucius, but you managed to set me all misty over the scene with him and Draco.
Not too impressed with the two, erm, ladies, that laughed about Severus having a wife to get back to. Without Lucius, they are most likely nothing. Hope the girl Charlie left with was not so cheaply made.
Response from cocoachristy (Author of One Vital Ingredient)
Thanks
Response from cocoachristy (Author of One Vital Ingredient)
! Glad I could make you misty! teehee! Had to show the human side! No, the ladies have no moral values--that's why LM wanted them at that time. A little more on Josephine and Charlie in the next chapter.
yes, i like the idea of lucius as a doting father and loving husband. thanks for the update
Response from cocoachristy (Author of One Vital Ingredient)
Thank you kimjo! Glad you liked my LM!
