A foul curse cast on Hermione and Ginny leaves them forced to search out one vital ingredient from their soul mates. Will Draco and Severus help them in their time of need? This is my response to a Potter Place Winter Prompt Challenge.

! Glad you loved it, just brush and floss! ;-)
Other than Draco owing Pansy ans apology, I am so very happy with this world! I love the main couples, but this Harry/Pansy subplot is fantastic.

! Oh, Pansy will have her say with Draco, never fear! Glad you are enjoying my couples!
I knew Harry wouldn't let Pansy down, but at the same time I'm glad he didn't; one never knows where a muse is going to take a story. Yea! to Severus for helping clear-up a HUGE misunderstanding. Thanks for the great update!
Response from cocoachristy (Author of One Vital Ingredient)
Thanks Lyndie! No, it's not in Harry to let anyone down if he can help it! Yep, SS was beginning to seriously worry about his friend. So glad you enjoyed!
I am impressed. This chapter is even more beautiful than the previous one! I wouldn't have belived it in advance, but you made my hearth hurth a bit for Lucius. The talks he had with Severus and Ginny showed us that there should be redemtion for Lucius too. I also love the Harry/Pancy interaction, it's really great! I wonder though how Molly will feel about having two French daughters in law.....:-))As always; I look forward for the next chapter of your beautiful story!!!!!

! You make me feel good! I know, a lot of people said they didn't see how LM could be redeemed, so I am glad I could make people feel for him if not have him redeemed. Glad you're liking my HP/PP! More up soon, its written and off to my beta!
What a lovely chapter! I've just found this delectable challenge piece now, and how I have fallen in love with it. I love the Harry/Pansy and the depth of Lucius' feeling for his wife. You make it believable as opposed to "let's pair off whoever is single!" And the tension between all couples - especially your main pairings - is very well done. I eagerly await your next chapter!
Response from cocoachristy (Author of One Vital Ingredient)
Thank you Lady! So glad you found my fic! Even happier that you like it! Glad you're enjoying my HP/PP, they were a last minute bunny as I was writing. I have always wanted a fic where LM and NM were shown in love, I may do that later on... I have to have angst, dunno why! More up soon!
Excellent! A cathartic cry for Lucius, as he has finally been told the circumstances of his son's marriage, and he can properly grieve the loss of his wife. That was a very moving scene. I'm glad everything is smoothed out between Severus and Hermione, and Draco and Ginny will be doing much better after their (separate) talk with Lucius. Pansy and Harry at the beginning of attraction are cute. New volunteers at the orphanage. Life is looking better all over. Well maybe not for the two paramours. Perhaps they will be given the heave ho.

! Yes, LM needed to grieve rather than keep those emotions locked away. He needed to heal. Yep. Our main couples are going to be just fine now! ;-) Glad you're enjoying my HP/PP! Got ideas for the orphanage! Yep, the ho's need to go!
I'm thinking this isn't exactly what Dumbledore had in mind when he talked about interhouse unity. Glad to see Pansy as a more likeable character.
Response from cocoachristy (Author of One Vital Ingredient)
Who knows? Maybe he would take it any way he could get it! Glad you like my Pansy!
You did it again! You made me cry and laugh. What a great chapter. You made Lucius human not read many stories that did that. Everyone in your story is slightly off center and I love it. Just proves we all have different sides. Looking forward to the next chapter.

! So glad i could get those range of emoions from you! I wanted him to seem, if not redeemable, then at least human. Glad I did! Yep, nobody is perfect! More up soon!
Well, things seem to be moving along quite nicely. Too bad for Cissy, but at least that tid bit gave some meaning to Lucius's behavior. Now it's up to him to go on or fall apart. Nice cliffie there.
Response from cocoachristy (Author of One Vital Ingredient)
Thanks

! Yes, I know. Poor Cissy! Glad you liked my cliffie!
All together now..... AWWWWWW!!! This whole chapter is so wonderfully sweet. I may just end up mentioning all of it as the bits that I loved. Sev & Hermione. Too cute. Love his comment about her getting bigger and her reaction to it. Sweet, sweet, sweet.Severus & Lucius' talk. You did that so well. Just the right amount of friendship and pathos and "get-your-head-out-of-your-ass-ness". ^.~Absolutely adore how you had Draco and Ginny come to terms with each other. Just fabulous. And then Lucius and Ginny on top of her time with Draco. Superb. Couldn't have asked for more. Makes him human in a totally delicious way. Pansy and Harry. Another Awww!!!! Too cute. Can't wait for their dinner and where they go from there. I even remember the Outfield song. Yay!!! Fantastic chapter! Loved it all. Will try to "patiently" wait for more. ^.^

!Glad you enjoyed my chapter! I love when peeps mention specific things!Glad you liked the SS/HG. I think pregnant women worry about things like that!I think SS/LM would be close enough mates that he would feel comfortable speaking with LM. SS was worried about him.Yep, she needed that talk with him I think!LM wants to do right--at least by Draco. He does love his son.Glad you like my HP/PP! More on them soon!Tee hee I like 80's music! It was when I was a teenager!More up soon! SW has the chapter and will get to it as soon as she can!
This chapter was sweet... less drama *grin* I very much enjoyed it, and therefore I'm afraid, you're just going to have to update again. *Shakes head* Leaving us poor followers of your story here, like orphans, though instead of food or a family, we want another chapter. Not much to ask, I assure you.
*Snort* I look forward to your next update!
Response from cocoachristy (Author of One Vital Ingredient)
THanks so much
Response from cocoachristy (Author of One Vital Ingredient)
! Yep, I've had my angst... On to the sweet stuff! :D More coming soon my dear orphaned one!
I like the way you handled the explanation of Lucius' attitude and how both Severus and Ginny basically helped remove his head from his ass. The bit about Severus' soulmate being "undetermined" was a nice touch. It's nice to see the way things are advancing with Harry and Pansy, too. Not smoothly, because that would be too unbelievable, but still advancing.
Response from cocoachristy (Author of One Vital Ingredient)
Thanks firefly! Yep, Lucius needed to open his eyes! The Severus part was tricky... LOL! I could've either made him have one--Lily, perhaps--and have her dead, or I could have her not born yet. I chose the latter! Glad you're enjoying my HP/PP! No, nothing ever starts out smooth in my fics! LOL
ps - as long as Harry is growing up, perhaps he should learn that if he is going to be late, he should TELL his date! send an owl or patronus, git...
Response from cocoachristy (Author of One Vital Ingredient)
Yep, I actually thought about having him send word to her, but wanted that first bit there where she thought he wasn't going to show... her feeling let down. So when he did show, it was sweeter! ;-)
Cool. Lucius finally owns up to his feelings and finally apologizes to his family (that includes Ginny). How terrible that Narcissa died at the hands of that monster. The best is that your Harry shows sensitivity and perceptiveness (not to mention attractive emotional maturity) in his tentative relationship w/Pansy. So refreshing instead of getting the usual Harry-the-clueless-Emotional-Moron. Their delicate, tentative relationship is a pleasure to read and I find them so interesting together than they just might trump up the lead couples for me in this story. Never thought Pansy was the type to run an orphanage but people do grow up.
Response from cocoachristy (Author of One Vital Ingredient)
Thanks
Response from cocoachristy (Author of One Vital Ingredient)
! Yep, it's about time Lucius was made aware how his actions were hurting those he loves. Yes, Narcissa's death was bad, that is just one reason Lucius has been acting out so bad.Glad you like my Harry! I wanted a decent Harry/Ron this time! I am enjoying writing them! A little background in the next chapter for Pansy will help you understand her reasons for the orpanage better!
The epiphany that Lucius shared with Ginny had me in tears! The history of Lucius and Narcissa being in the same vein as Draco and Ginny is a great twist in the plot too. I'm enjoying the development of the relationship between Harry and Pansy. It's flowing and not at all stilted, with great dialogue too. The whole chapter has been beautifully written and I can't wait for the next one. I offer choccies and lemon sherbets for the muse!Blessings

! I am so happy I could bring tears to you! lol! So happy you are enjoying my HP/PP! More coming soon! *pouces on choccies and lemon sherbets*
awesome chapter. I really like that Harry and Pansy are together. You pull it off quite well. Can't wait to read more.
Response from cocoachristy (Author of One Vital Ingredient)
Thank you so much! I am thrilled you're enjoying my HP/PP!
sigh... okay, you've done it. you've started to redeem lucius in my eyes (and redeemed harry in pansy's eyes, too). i wonder if a person might find a second soulmate in a lifetime, or at least a wonderful ladyfriend for second wife... in many ways, it's an insult to cissa's memory to have tarts and bimbos in her bedroom. thanks for the new chapter!!
Response from cocoachristy (Author of One Vital Ingredient)
Thanks June! I wondered if I could! (I knew you would be a tough sale! LOL) I am considering someone for Lucius, but I think he sould be alone for awhile! No more bimbo's either! So glad you liked it!
The words that come to mind when I read this are rich and velvety. The plot, the characters, the dialogue and descriptions all evoke those images and feelings. I like the main story, of course, but also the secondary plots with Lucius, Harry and Pansy. I want to read their storylines as much (well almost) as I do our two main couples. Keep up the good work and I look forward to reading the next chapter. Thanks, JoAnne
Response from cocoachristy (Author of One Vital Ingredient)
Thanks JoAnne! You sure make me want to start writing right now! The first story I wrote with secondary plots was Reconcilable Differences, and that hooked me. More coming soon!
You actually caused me to get all teary-eyed for Lucius. I hope he can start to heal now. An insecure Pansy is also quite interesting. This was a great chapter it really paves the way for several new relationships. And since it wouldn't be a review from me without commenting on the song, I have to say I honestly can't remember this one, at first I thought you had given up on the 80's in favor of the recent Kelly Clarkson song, now I am going to have to look this one up so I can refresh my memory. Can't wait for more.
Response from cocoachristy (Author of One Vital Ingredient)
Thanks wilder! Glad I could make you feel for LM--it's hard to I know after the way he's behaved so far! Glad you like my Pansy!I don't remember that song myself, the title just made the think of the chapter content and LM! LOL More up soon!
Excellent chapter! You gave us a bit of everyone, which was just lovely. Our main couples are doing so well. Great to see them supporting and loving each other. *dreamy sigh*
A fabulous look at Lucius - I was moved to tears by his reunion with Draco. Yes, he's been an arse, but everyone deals with grief differently. Hopefully, he will be doing so in a healthier manner from here on out.
And, finally, a giant AWWW for the Harry/Pansy scene. I've never read a Harry fanfic, so I believe this is the first time ever that I will say GUH about Harry. GUH GUH GUH. I love how he's interacting with Pansy (did I say guh?) and how selfless he and Ron are being. I adore that you have not made them total prats as many fanfics do. Instead, you are giving us more of them, and I love it.
More, please!
Response from cocoachristy (Author of One Vital Ingredient)
Thanks sshg! So happy you enjoyed my chapter! Yep, our main couples are completely on track now!Yes, Lucius was holding in too much and lashing out. Things will start to be better for him.Glad you are enjoying my HP/PP! I have made him and Ron prats in past fics, but this time I wanted to try something different. I don't see them as prats, not really. I see them as moody at times or stubborn, but I actually like both characters.More coming soon!
That was such a great chapter. I am really enjoying the way you are presenting Lucius. You can see the manipulative Deatheater Lucius mixed in with the grieving family man Lucius. And I love Ginny's spunk! Can't wait for the next update!
Response from cocoachristy (Author of One Vital Ingredient)
Thanks
Response from cocoachristy (Author of One Vital Ingredient)
! I am glad you like my Lucius! I wanted to show there is more to him than what meets the eye! More soon!
I'm sorry that it's over, but I've enjoyed this story a lot! :)
Response from cocoachristy (Author of One Vital Ingredient)
Thanks firefly! I am so happy you enjoyed it!
You're far too kind to Lucius, although I must respect that you give everyone the benefit of the doubt and make all but the very worst of characters redeemable. Certainly, losing one's spouse or significant other would be stressful enough to make Lucius what he is, but I would be most interested in finding out where his choice to leave the Death Eaters came from. I'm so glad to see Draco and Ginny doing better, and I'm overjoyed that Severus and Hermione seem to be communicating decently. Keep up the great work!!
Response from cocoachristy (Author of One Vital Ingredient)
Thanks kittykat! I try to. Lucius I do, mainly, because I want Severus to have a friend. LOL We will find out why he left the Death Eaters as well in the next chapter. Yep, our couples are back on track!
Pansy and Harry? Definately didn't see that coming! I loved seeing Severus laugh with Hermione! Thanks for the great story!
Response from cocoachristy (Author of One Vital Ingredient)
Thanks for reading
Response from cocoachristy (Author of One Vital Ingredient)
! Yep, slide that pairing right in there! ;-)
Ooooh! What's Lucius up to?! Like I can't guess *grin* horny old sod that he is *snigger*
I really enjoyed this chapter... especially the length, not too short that I really wanted more, not so long that I had to take a break for the bathroom or food or something *shakes head* I think I'm heading for a TMI flashing sigh above my head, so I'll finish this review here, and just wish you luck with the next chapter... and cross my fingers that it'll be soon *looks hopeful*
Response from cocoachristy (Author of One Vital Ingredient)
LOL Thanks
Response from cocoachristy (Author of One Vital Ingredient)
! Yep, that he is! ~smirk~I am glad you liked it! No, not tmi ;-) The next chapter is coming along!
