This is really a nice piece of work! I love the metaphor of the ladder, and the story is so good I really hope that you finish it. The ladder metaphor is a good way of looking at life. And I can see where Snape could mistake another women for Tonks since she can change appearances. Plus, from what I've "seen" so far, it doesn't seem like Tonks and Snape are that intimate as funny as that sounds, so he may not be as in tune with her as with a woman he loved. I mean I know they're sleeping together but it doesn't seem to be a full relationship (love, lots of time together, etc). I think that if Snape ever loves, he will be possessive and not want to share. But just my opinion.  And I really understand HG's feelings as well. She probably does love Ron, she's just not in love with him. LOL Actually another poster mentioned that she was not sure she'd like this story, but she does, and I understand what she's saying. I was afraid I would not like the story (I love it) because I really don't like SS/NT stories or where that are sexually involved. I like stories which completely focus on SS/HG relationship build-up, feelings, sex whatever. But a few things happened that made me go with this story-SW in her LJ (who's also a great writer and pretty cool from what I've seen LOL), indicated that it wouldn't be too much NT/SS, RW/HG to worry about, it's clear that neither HG or SS are not madly in love with their partners, and most importantly the writing is excellent and the scenes amazingly hot. If it's not being too bold may I just ask if there's going to be a lot of HG/RW, NT/SS scenes or will the focus be on HG and SS's "relationship"? This is a truly entertaining, story and the ladder metaphor is so unique! I wish I could rate this over the 5 stars I've given it.

Well that was just as hot hearing it from Snape's perception. Ou la la. I laughed when Snape stubbled at the end of his apperation in the Cauldren. Danger in deed.

Yes, Hermione is DEFINITELY the introspective type.  And the more you tell your mind not to think about something, the more impossible it becomes to do just that. 

Mmm. If your story were chocolate it'd be quite the delicacy in shiny paper--while lovely enough to savor, the last bite leaves me enthralled and impatient for the next.

this is one of the few stories i look forward to reading. can't wait for more.

OMG, that is probably the most exquisitly erotic scene (along with the previous chapter) I have ever read.I wondered as I read if you remembered your past life as a man. But then I read your note at the end. I'm glad that you explained your source for the male experience.I only found this story today.
