I am married and have three sons. SF and fantasy are my favorite genres and J.R.R. Tolkien, Ursula LeGuin, Robert Jordan (both with and without Brandon Sanderson) and George R.R. Martin are some of my fav authors. I really enjoy reading HP fanfic because there is so much variety. I also write fanfic when I get the time--SS/HG for the most part.
Oh, and my day job is a university professor. (Yeah, I'm a nerd!)

This is a very interesting, different take on the search for the Horcruxes, and I live the amount of detail you're including, right down to Hermione's Anti-Apparition bracelet.
Clever to have Severus Obliviate her, as well - that's certainly one solution!
I can't wait to see what's coming :)

I enjoy details too--they make a story seem more real and believable. Glad it works for you. We will be seeing the story from several view pints too--just to keep things lively! Thanks for taking the time to review.
Well, this isn't good! I wonder who took her, and if she'll have to face Voldemort . . .
*Runs off to read next chapter*

Orm and warty celebrate old times.Gosh, this is nostalgic! Great to see it here.

Nostalgic...has it really been that long since I started writing this? Up for a re-read anyone?
im putting my money on Regulus. it sounds right at least! Keep it up!
Response from orm irian (Author of Shades)
Thanks, I will definately "keep it up"! Next chapter is in queue.
Ahhh... Thank God for unattainable men, she thought. What else are they good for except fantasies? Never thought I'd find Keanu Reeves in a hp story, neat.
Too funny. Guess we could have all told Rabastan, Severus is living in Denialland. Looking forward to the next chapter.

Yes, but Severus will 'wake up' eventually. The question is, will he wake up to the truth in time? Thanks for reviewing!

Excellent observations on Wormy! He is easy to underestimate. He was a DE and obviously hated his supposedly best friends and yet they never had a clue. I am loving this!

I really enjoyed this story and would definitely also like to see the sequel when you get around to writing it. :-) I'm sure there are lots of folks who are waiting with baited breath.

I'm happy that readers are still out there enjoying this (now AU) fic! When I wrote it, I envisioned doing the sequel within a few months... now it has stretched into years. I figured that by this time, everyone had forgotten this story. Thanks for letting me know it's not a 'dead' story line. I will do my best to resurrect those old notes and work on the sequel!!
This story was really well done. I liked the hesitancy that Severus had with admitting his feelings. Too often, fics show him to be EXTREMELY out of character and lovey dovey. We all know that's not the real Severus! ;) I looked for a sequel and didn't see one! Post it soon please please!

Thanks for your kind words about Shades. It was the first fanfic that I started writing (but not the first to be finished!) and I always appreciate any constructive criticism or discussions about the characterization, plotting, pace, themes, etc. Regarding the sequel, I have had a portion of the first chapter on my laptop for more that a year and I just have not been able to find the time and/or muse to get moving on it. In my defense, at the time I finished Shades my mom was gravely ill and living with my family, so I was preoccupoed for a good year and a half until she got her strength back and returned to her hometown. Nevertheless, I do want to finish it and will try to get going on writing it.
ohh, that was brilliant!

Thanks so much! I am really glad you enjoyed it.

Muahaha. I love Lord of the Rings. I was so excited when I found another reference as I was reading.
Response from orm irian (Author of Shades)
Glad you enjoyed the LOTR quotes. I had fun putting them in!
Yes! Wormtail is finally gone! *does a jig* Now things can work according to plan. I love the tension in this chapter - waiting to see what would happen to the Order rescuers when they couldn't find Snape and Hermione at home.
Response from orm irian (Author of Shades)
Yeah, Wormtail is/was a slimy bugger--I hope JKR offs him too!
Muahaha, Snape begins to have feelings for the Gryffindor twit. Yes, it is all going according to plan.
Response from orm irian (Author of Shades)
Sneaky- huh? I liked having him get caught up without realizing what was happening to him!
Oh Snape, ever the manipulative bastard. Well, I think we all know where their "lessons" are going to lead. =)
Response from orm irian (Author of Shades)
Why, what ever could you mean by that? *smiles and bats eyelashes*Yes, my Snape is a very manipulative guy.
Muahahaha! Snape as the warden is very nice indeed. It sounds like Snape is actually loyal to the Dark Lord in this one. I guess I'll just have to wait and see.
Response from orm irian (Author of Shades)
Snape's loyalty is the big Q in this story-one of them anyway. Is he loyal to anyone but himself?
Awesome first chapter. I can't stop reading and I'm looking forward to reading the rest!
Response from orm irian (Author of Shades)
Thanks. I hope you enjoy it!
This was an excellent story. I started to read it as a break from homework and it was so addicting I kept saying one more chapter until the story was done and it was my bedtime. Great job! Looking forward to a short sequel in the future.
Response from orm irian (Author of Shades)
Thanks. I am happy you enjoyed it! I hope you got your homework done...
A well-written story. I look forward to the sequel.

I appreciate your comments. Thanks for taking the time to read and review.
Things are coming to a head. I'm really impatient to read your next new installment.
Response from orm irian (Author of Shades)
I should be uploading to the queue here on tuesday. The 'new' stuff is in my betas hands now and will probably be up on FF later this week. Should be two chapter at once back-to-back.
Oh hell! I cannot believe she did that. Well I can. but I had hoped she would manage to convince him. I had hoped Harry would help.
Did Snape give that spell to Remus? Maybe Remus will help Snape out before the Aurors get there. It would be unfortunate for Snape to get caught.
I can't wait for the next update! Please please please don't leave us hanging for long!
Response from orm irian (Author of Shades)
I knew that many readers would be taken aback by this turn of events, but each character has to behave and make choices based on their true nature. Snape didn't give Remus the spell--Remus found it in the Malfoy's library. I will not leave you hanging for long--I plan on uploading the next chapter to queue on Tuesday. Thanks for taking the time to review.
