It had started off as an ordinary night for the girl and him, until he received the news that threatened to erase ten years of quiet joy. My response to the "Fall 2006 Prompt Challenge" at Potter_Place.

Good twist! Looking forward to more.

I do love my mini-twists... will be starting the next chapter soon. :-)
Started ch 1 this morning and in short order finished the 10 currently posted chapters. I rather like the story, though find it very short. Shuffle it all together and there's enough material for 3 or 4 decent length chapters. It's a shame you chose these itty bitty little nibble-sized chapters. It just starts to pick up and wham, it ends. More than a drabble, which I won't read, but less than is interesting to settle down with. Sigh.
Maybe I'll tuck it away until there are 10 more cute little bits to read...

I apologize for the short length of my chapters. Unfortunately, I'm a writer who is economical with words - while some can pull off a 3,000-5,000 word chapter within a short amount of time, I find it difficult to do so. So, in order to have faster updates, I've sacrificed the size of the chapters. I had originally planned to make this story a one-shot, but then I realized I had too many conflicts to address and not much time before the challenge was over to write the whole thing.I hope you keep reading it (and if that means 10 chapters at a time, it's fine by me =])Thanks for reviewing.
And one knows how permanent temporary measures can be...

I'm keeping my lips sealed on how temporary this arrangement will be. :) Thanks for reviewing!
I am really enjoying the development of your story. Having been comfortable with just the two of them together for the past several years (with visits by Hermione of course) not only is Severus' life disrupted by the awakening of Harry but the loss of their home and now the prospect of living, for however short a time, with Hermione. This opens up all kinds of possiblities. And I dare say changes for both Marie and Severus. I can't see how he can keep her secluded from the history/legend of her parents any longer. Just being in Hermione's home will have an influence. I look forward to what is to come. Thanks, JoAnne

Thanks. The disruptions will continue, and I'm really excited to write all of them all. =]
This is a very intriguing story. I'm interested to see how the relationship between Severus and Hermione develops, as well as what happens when Harry finally gets his legs under him. More soon!

Thanks! I also can't wait to write Harry back into this story. Hopefully that should be soon. :)
