I picked up the Harry Potter fandom around the time the first movie came out and began writing fanfic early 2005 after discovering the adult online community. I identify most closely with the Slytherins and you will see my taste in writing lends me to writing about Slytherins more often than not. In addition to fanfiction, I also make fanvids on the Harry Potter fandom. I'm a Perfect Imagination acredited beta and am willing to help authors. My main 'ship interests are Snape/OC (never really got into the SS/HG pairing) and LM/any female (with HG as a new favorite). I have dabbled in RL/OC and RL/NT and am okay with those pairings. I had to keep telling myself that this was AU from the end of HBP, since it could very easily be the result of Snape's survival after The DH. (Maybe it would be good to add some more cues.) But I very much look forward to learning what it happened in this universe, particularly since, from the few you've shown, you seem to have kept your characters very close to character. It's very nicely written overall, with Hermione's nervousness, and her attempts to cover it with authoritarian brusqueness extremely well drawn. But who is Alastor Gumboil? (What a Dickensian name!)

Gumboil is head of magical law enforcement. I plucked his name from the wizards JRK had established in that department at some point. The story will pluck bits from DH that integrated into what I had written, in the end Severus was captured and tried and never shared his memories with Harry. I'll see about making sure it's clear.
