Reviews for Hexed!
Severus needs to be careful, Hagrid's magic can be erratic, remember Dudley's pig tail.

I think this is the weirdest story I've ever read, next to the story of the Hogwarts castle and the giant squid shagging (which I read out of sheer curiosity!). Lol. But that's not necessarily a bad thing. I'd love to know how on earth you came up with the storyline though lol.
The best of magics indeed! It seems that Severus' rather cruel words to Hagrid in C2 might have, in some strange law of universal justice, come back to teach him a lesson in the form of his offspring's intelligence. To me, it looks as though he's learned it (until the next dunderhead annoys him).
I can only imagine what Hagrid's version of the story was to the kids. Though I can utterly see Snape's version coming out of his mouth.
So funny that Severus actually doesn't seem to want the curse broken, but he seems to have gotten over that. Hopefully Minerva will have Hagrid thinking twice about using Giant curses in the future.
They would seem to be very happy indeed, the children's names were inspired, and I love God father Hagrid.
All's well ,that ends well, I suppose, but that kind of "madness" lasts a long time.
~Applauding!~ Still a bit shaken over the prospect of half-an-hour's eye contact with a furious Scottish headmistress ~cringes~.
Poor Hagrid... All I can say is: he'd better be very careful when relieving himself. Claws, you know ;o)
This isn't the end, is it? ^_^
*snicker* Rita strikes again! ^_^

For some reason I've always felt that Severus would be kind to Hagrid. Not that I think everyone should think that way and I obviously don't mind reading where someone has him being a prat about it. It sort of seems like kicking the beloved family dog, you know? And it looks like you are going to punish him suitably. Can't wait for more. Good job.

LOL!!! You must have read a completely different Snape to the one I read. :D

So as he got older and remembered that talk with his Da, I wonder if he blushed when the lightbulb went off about the Engorgios. Short but inticing.

I don't want to imagine what happened to Hagrid wrt this conversation as he got older. ~shudders~ :DWhat's short? The prologue?

Oh, my. What has Hagrid gone and done? I can't wait to see what happens next.

What he thought – at the time – needed doing! ;) (Or, perhaps he was feeling more than thinking.)

Ai-Yow! I can feel a big lesson coming on! Really, S, did years of hanging around spruikers of blood purity blah blah blah teach you nothing? And you bag Hagrid about his learning ability?Homie, you is lucky Hagrid be so forbearing! A half-giant-sized clip across the ear, and you'd need to trial that headache remedy on yourself!

Yes! Thank you!! Exactly!! It's as if the man learnt nothing! But Hagrid, thank goodness, is a good'un with good intentions. Let's just not think about how the road to the hot place is paved.

This is really a terrific story. I've often thought Hagrid gets short shrift. And there's a relationship between him and Snape, but it's hardly ever mentioned. Is it just colleagues, or employer/employee? Or is there something greater? Hagrid is by far the senior, could he have provided comfort when Snape was a young boy, as he did for Harry? But here Snape is snide and cutting, and Hagrid is portrayed as the better man. I'm very curious to see where this goes, especially when Hermione, Hagrid's friend, joins the mix.

A short, succinct, bittersweet beginning to set up a thoughtful story. Hagrid is more than a caricature, I think. I'm looking forward to this.

I love Hagrid, and he is definitely more than many make of him. Thank you!

Ahhh, Engorgio - the solution to [some of] life's little problems. Really, this is a lovely way to make sense of the giant/human interaction :o)

Thank you for solving one of the great mysteries. It always puzzled me when Hagrid asked Maxime which was the giant. The idea of a male giant with human female just doesn't seem possible. ;) This is far more plausible
Response from TeaOli (Author of Hexed!)
Well... I suppose Engorgio could be an all-purpose spell.

I have to admit, the creation of a half giant is one of Rowling's squickier ideas, as is the idea that Flitwick might be part Goblin. Nothing against Hagrid or Flitwick, you understand, but having seen the movie portrayal of giants and goblins, you kind of wonder... why? And sometimes how? A couple of engorgios may well have been the answer!
Interesting start!

Seek not how, though why is a good question!!

I fear the smutty part of my mind may have jumped to an unwarranted conclusion--a few Engorgios, indeed! I've always thought, without attempting to reckon out if I was right, that Hagrid was born in the 1920s-1930s when even Muggle parents didn't typically hand out children's books on the mechanics of reproduction. As we typically think wizarding society is more conservative, I wonder if 6-year-old Hagrid wouldn't have just assumed his dad Engorgioed himself to match his mother's height when they were courting. And children being what they are, maybe Hagrid felt apprehensive because he had already been teased about his unusual parentage. Anyway, based on this prologue, I'm entirely happy to sit back and relax as you drive this story.

LOL!!! ~sticks fingers in ears~ Do you really wonder beyond what Mr Hagrid told his son? Do you really want your imagination to travel down tha tpath? :D
