Molly interferes, Ron is a twit but gets over it, Lucius is reformed (well, a bit), Draco grows up, Ginny is a good friend (apart from recommending the shoes), Harry is a hero, and Hermione has fun and spends a lot of time in a library. Snape, meanwhile, considers that he is getting his usual shit deal from fate, although to be fair, he never expected to find a family of his own.

I really loved the plot and premise of this Fic! Also the fall out between Hermione and Ron being fueled by Molly doesn't surprise me, but it is still sad nonetheless. You definitely have a good grasp on ancient Germanic/Gaelic languages. Are you perhaps a linguist, or just like old languages? Keep it up and I can't wait for the next chapter!

Thank you for your lovely comments! The only old language that I have any knowledge of, is Latin, so this is the result of a good few hours of research - I do enjoy research, although I don't have bushy hair! I never did like Molly, I think she's be the mother-in-law from hell...
Response from LioSaoirse (Reviewer)
Totally agree about Molly. After her reactions with Hermione in GoF, and her purposely trying undermine the trio in DH, I just can't stand her. Can't wait for more Lucius action though! And Snape!

Fabulous beginning! I love the premise of this story and your writing, as always, is brilliant. Psyched for the next chapter!

This is a kick, and I really look forward to its continuation. I do wonder what ritual Molly was thinking about, though. And did she do it? It seems likely. MPREG, huh? I really like the way you've Got Rid of Ron (always a test of creativity). And it seems appropriate that Lucius and Hermione should bond over a complex multi-cursed ancient scroll. Except for your summary, you haven't said anything about Snape yet--he's in your summary but not in your cast of characters, by the way. Is he supposed (by Hermione at least) to be dead?

I am intrigued by her being divorced due to her inability to carry a baby to term and your warning of "male pregnancy." I can't imagine that this would be too common or else Ron wouldn't have divorced her. What is it with mothers-in-law thinking they know best?
Response from gingertart (Author of Out of the Shadows Came a Rose)
Molly Weasley always thought that she knew best - she knew that the Trio were in danger but wanted them left in complete ignorance because they were 'only children'. Really? After meeting Voldie annually for how many years? Anyway, as for the mpreg - all will be revealed later....

Interesting start, but when does Severus come into it? ^_~

Stay with it and he will appear... as if by magic. ;)

I love it, absolutely love it. I have never been fond of Molly, especially not after their Forth year at Hogwarths when a grown up woman who should have known better believed everything that rag of a newspaper wrote about a fourteen year old girl. Nope, don't like Molly or Ron and love the bashing of them both. I find Ron's attempt about playing hero at the end here rather ridiculus, he doesn't have the balls, brain or spine to stand up against his own mother in defence of his now very luckily ex-wife, but wants to be believable to defend her against Malfoy, Ron really is pathetic. I love the plot and it is wonderfully written, I am very much looking forward for more.

Thank you for your lovely comments! I'm glad that I'm not the only one who never liked Molly. I found it easier to forgive Ron in canon, who was after all, still a child, but Molly - nope. Although Ron hadn't grown up in the epilogue either.

Great chapter! this is really funny. I hope our Hermione gets herself a decent wizard. :)

Glad you enjoyed it! Hm, not sure if she knows any decent wizards ... a few indecent ones perhaps...

Ron is a tool. Molly is something that rhymes with witch. Herms is standing up for herself. Lucius is being Slytheriny. Good start. Looking forward to more.

I'm not sure why I'm only reading this now but I am really enjoying this story. I like the character development so far
I really appreciate the way Ron and Hermione treated each other...and the fact that Hermione did feel that little empty ache. It would be unrealistic to think that would not affect her a little.
Loved the chapter even though I have problems when Molly Weasley is portrayed as that harsh. She always seemed to be the personification of the classic Earth Mother. Love your Lucius so far. Want to give Hermione a big {{{hug}}}. And Harry too, he is behaving like a true friend.
Loved it. Wonderful unique story.
Hermione needs to watch her back. But she shouldn't stop what she's doing. Just make sure she isn't naive enough to totally trust Lucius. Is this about Lucius and Hermione getting together or Hermione and Severus? How will she win over Severus?

I think Hermione has a delicate balancing act to perform with those two... but magic can achieve so much!

I thought Ron handled his mom pretty well for the first little part. He didn't tell her to mind her business but he didn't agree with her either. I hope Molly is sorry someday. Lucius Malfoy is attractive. I couldn't blame Hermione if she were to become attracted to him after a while. She is right. Ron is jealous. I do think she should be careful just the same. I would advise her not to act on any attraction she may start to feel for him. At least until I'm certain he isn't a bigot anymore. They could be respectful working friends. Maybe spending some time with Hermione would help reform Lucius. Maybe after they are friends for a while he might be able to help her find a counter curse for the stone womb. Oh, wouldn't it be awful to find out that Lucius was the person who had cursed her? I do hope that isn't the case. I also think that in the long run, Hermione would be happier without children unless she can afford a truly wonderful full time nanny or acquires a loving house elf. I've been around the block a few times and work every day with the >35-40 something women that decide it's time to have their first baby. They are too old to be that sleep deprived, their expectations of life are too high, they are less flexible and don't have enough confidence in their own good sense. They agonize over parenting because they know how much they don't know and are not able to go with the flow and wing it once in a while, listening to their instincts like the 19-20 something women. The older career moms love their babies, but they are not having fun. They are much more bothered by the fact that the baby can't do anything for them self for longer than they had expected. Hermione doesn't need a baby just because other people think she should have one. They are so much more fun to play with then give back to the person responsible for their darning.

I totally agree with you about babies! In Hermione's case, I think house elves should sort the problems... as for Lucius, well, if Draco can be redeemed, then why not Lucius? We shall see...
