It's such an apt description I wish I'd written it :) I like how this story is dark yet not overwhelming, there are little glimmers of hope here and there, and Hermione hasn't been completely defeated. I like your Draco, but I do hope that he will be more than just the stereotypical gay friend. I don't think he will remain a stereotype though, as you've portrayed him as whip-smart and humorously cynical. That bit at the end with the salute just about broke my heart! Very good writing, as always.

i like this hermione shes seen some things learned who to piss off or not, she trying to stay alive as best she can in this diffacult time very smart, draco dont like how things worked out but not saying so, snape i dont know yet nothing wrong with saving your own butt, Draco had seen it enough to know; perhaps he had deliberately challenged her into keeping herself alive. i hope she paying attention!

 The motive to stay out of Azkaban was a powerful one. He knew this from experience. ha i bet he does oooo   snake in the grass  oooo i see percy might be of some use hummmm good start.

Oh, poor Neville... but so true to his inner essence... and Arthur, another dear, dear soul... Hmm, I like Pansy's edge, whether she's friend or foe or neither (lol!), I enjoyed her advice and consideration for Hermione, given the circumstances.... Lovely final moment, bringing everything full circle with Hermione rediscovering/re-feeling her magic-- 'a creature of magic'--beautiful!!!

It's ironic that in this story, Severus has everything he seemed to have ever wanted when he originally struck out with the DE's, but he's so unhappy. On the other hand, Hermione's found out that in this BNW, there is some goodness left - in a twisted way.

This chapter was, absolutely horrible, in a wounderful way; Arthur And Neville, fighting with their last breath, to protect Hermione, and Hermione sacrificing herself , trying to get help for Neville. It only takes one small spark, to start a fire; Heermione is that spark, I hope the fire will consume the Dark Lord, once and for all.

I think, this is one of the saddest chapters I've ever read. It certainly couldn't have been easy to write. I commend you.

Now why would Dumbles tell Hermione a password when she was about to floo out of the office? That makes no sense to me. I am glad we dont know what happened to McGonagall. I don't even want to know. Pansy was a pleasant surprise. It appears she did some growing up since the battle. I am not sure if she will be an advocate for Hermione or a sly enemy. Either way I like Pansy. I have bookmarked this story Teddy!! HOw fast are you going to update??

Poor Neville and Arthur!  I'd almost think that was Umbridge's wand, except she's clearly going to be in good odor so would still have hers.

What a compelling idea: Azkaban sentient? And why wouldnt it be? If Hogwarts can be why cannot another instution. I am rather glad Lucius had some misgivings about being there. Almost makes him seem sympathetic. Almost. she would do as she was told Clearly the minister doesnt know Mis Granger well. MahwahahahaI am curious why there arent other prisinors that HErmione would say farwell too. Should there be other order members? Unless they are all dead? Ack!

Cracking start, Teddy. It's already been said but your portrayal of Azkaban as a malignant foil for Hogwarts is terrific and horrific. The thought of the very stones absorbing the poor unfortunates sadness and fear and all negative thoughts thus becoming sentient is incredibly distressing and hopeless. I don't usually read, darkness wins storys,but as it's you writing, I thought I would give it a go. Lucius is a bastad, but not a mindless bastad, and Hermione is not complately broken. the depiction of Azkaban as a sentient place;which has asorbed all the pain,sadness, terror and evil of the inmates,is very well done. What a very intriguing start. I like how you describe Azkaban almost like a participating character, all throughout this chapter I could just feel it's slow suffocation in the background. Also I like how Lucius isn't just an evil self-serving bastard here; he's an evil self-serving bastard with a personality, imagine that. You've also managed to keep Hermione recognizable despite what she's been through. You're very fluent with the way you lay down each successive paragraph. I like it a lot!

Yay!  I did a little squeal when I saw you had a new story.I really like the setup so far.  Your description of Azkaban is exactly how I've always envisioned it, and it being semi-sentient is an interesting twist.I wonder who tried to get Hermione parolled (hmm...I have my suspicions).  Anyway, I can't wait to see where you take this.  I'm also looking forward to the M content you always put into your stories so wonderfully.

Love the ambiance and Azkaban as a living, sentient entity like Hogwarts--yum! The atmosphere and tension you've created as Lucius awaits for the prisoner to be brought to him is soooo tangible and palatable--truly wonderful detailed narrative! Love the insight to Lucius' insecurities, doubts and fears... and his own grusome memories of torture and humiliation--you so powerfully 'flip it' for us readers with the injections of his old confident, dapper self, vain and confident in his powers of manipulation and self-importance, his cunning and slippery wiles... Can't wait for Hermione to be brought back to life after the hell of Azkaban; she's a survivor, Merlin bless her, and can't wait for her to be empowered, poor thing, and take strength from all she has survived--wonderful, engaging, intriguing tale --looking forward to more!
