Confusing behaviour from one thought to be an enemy. :)
Response from hexgirl (Author of Forgotten)
Absolutely! Perhaps Hermione should consider that ;)

Sounds like someone has their hands on an illicit device... :)

Well, good guess - you'd think so wouldn't you? ;)

The only problem is - why upload a story that's never going to be finished.....

Erm ... you seem to know something I don't???

People are so complicated... Is this attraction unrequited? Is it better to wonder in silence forever, or tell the truth and have your hopes dashed? Or perhaps have them rewarded? I guess the "dream" of possibility is more attractive than the reality of having your affections thrown back in your face. To reveal them is a gamble. And even if he returns her regard, will the real Severus live up to the dream?Great story. Keep up the good work.
Response from hexgirl (Author of Forgotten)
Well that's the big question isn't it? Personally, I'm a sucker for unrequited love remaining unrevealed just in case those painfully sweet hopes are dashed forever. Hermione however... I don't think she would feel like that... And as for real Severus V fantasy Severus, well that remains to be seen doesn't it? ;)) Thanks for reading and reviewing.

YAY! Another wonderful chapter and more twists and turns!!! Love it that Snape will become an 'official' Auror and that Hermione will have to face him sooner than later, and I love Harry's sincere change of heart regarding Snape as well as Hermione speculating about Ron's response to him. And now, the subtle concern of Snape for Hermione is being laid down 'in public' so to speak... Looking forward to their first meeting since her memories have been returned, and of course, this Jessica persona... Yum! the mystery continues--and I hope this means many, many more chapters of this wonderful tale-- we demand more and more!

Great update, looking forward to seeing some more interaction with Harry and Snape. How sweet that Severus is showing some concern and how Harry quickly picked up on it.
Response from hexgirl (Author of Forgotten)
Thank you. Definitely Harry and Snape interactin to come :) He's going to be wondering what's going on... Thanks for reviewing :)

Jessica?!?!?! Ahem..... Jessica better be his pet Kneazle or something. And Hermione better not get anywhere near Ron. Thanks for the update, but I'm getting anxious about our not-yet-couple!
Response from hexgirl (Author of Forgotten)
We will find out about Jessica very soon :) The path to true love is always a bumpy one :) Thanks for reading and reviewing.

He's certainly not indifferent, so who is this Jessica person? Maybe he's a petsitter in his spare time...
Response from hexgirl (Author of Forgotten)
Well a wizard has to make a living!!! So maybe he is :)))And no, he's certainly not indifferent. We just have to establish how far his not-indifference goes now :)

*giggle* "He likes me; Severus likes me!" I can just see Hermione hugging herself after hearing about his so-called concern. ^_^
Response from hexgirl (Author of Forgotten)
Well, she might start with, 'He doesn't hate me!' and move on to 'He likes me.' She certainly has some thinking to do. Thanks for reading and reviewing.

Such a good chapter! I apologize for the delayed review, but in my defense, I just wanted enough time to absorb the chapter, and I really did need it (in the best way). The dialogue was brilliant (I'm sure I've said this before, but it's still true), and both Severus and Hermione are so true to character. I especially appreciated Hermione naivete. She's certainly intelligent, but I think there would be a certain immaturity when it came to... physical relationships, shall we say lol. She just didn't have time for those things (nor was she very focused on them). I definitely thought that was spot on.So, after that long review lol, great job! I can't wait for the next chapter, especially the shift in time period!
Response from hexgirl (Author of Forgotten)
Hey! No need to apologise for when you read it. We all have lives bla bla bla! You just read it as and when, lovely! Ah yes, Hermione's naievity: Probably also due to the fact that she can't quite get her head around Snape as a sexual animal (yet). LOL! the idea of Snape not being a sexual animal is hilarious.

Can't wait for the return to present day. That should be great!

Still hoping we will get a chance to learn what happens in he rest of this story :) It was so good - really difficult to forget!
In the previous chapter, Severus warned Hermione not to blame him if she didn't like some of the memeories that were being returned to her. ‘You asked for them, do not blame me if you don’t like what is there. I’ll see myself out.’ This first memory to return to Hermione is a doozie! I found it interesting that she knew who this interloper was because she of the scent of Potions. Even more interesting to me was that when Snape first spoke to her he seemed, not forbidding, but surprised to find it was her: ‘Miss Granger,’ he said. It was more of an expression of surprise than a sneer. ‘You are here alone?’ She was determined not to let him know that Harry and Ron might be downstairs, but his skills at Legilimency will soon enable him to find out want he wants to know. Why was he there in Regulus' old room to begin with? What will he do next? I can't wait to find out.Beth
Response from hexgirl (Author of Forgotten)
Thanks. Beth. You made some very insightful observations there. There seems to be more questions than answers yet doesn't there? Not to worry, there will be answers - I promise. The next chapter is only awaiting corrections and will be along very soon.
It seems these memories are going to be messier than expected.
Response from hexgirl (Author of Forgotten)
Messy is a good way of describing them. Detailed is another one. They certainly are significant for Hermione anyway. Next chapter not too far away. Thanks for reading.
What a dramatic and insightful chapter! But the ending is what really stole my breath away. I have a feeling hidden inside that Obliviate was a ton of information that will change Hermione's life.
Response from hexgirl (Author of Forgotten)
Oooh! You do do you? Well I have a feeling you could be right ;)Thanks for the review. Much appreciated.
I am loving the imagery, especially your comparison of Hermione falling asleep in Regulus' bed to Dorothy in the fields of poppy. The chapter overall was very evocative. Now, I anxiously await the next chapter as you've once again left us hanging lol.
Response from hexgirl (Author of Forgotten)
Thank you very much. I seem to be doing that leaving you hanging thing a lot don't I? I can't promise not to do it again though ;) Next chapter is waiting patiently and hopefully in the queue - hope you enjoy it.
Just love the dubious, omnious atmosphere - yum! Savouring your detail, description and intrigue you so masterfully, skillfully set up for us - between Severus and Hermione - double yum! The tension is so very *tangible*
Response from hexgirl (Author of Forgotten)
Thanks, Nag.As an off and on smoker, that icon is driving me mad right now - LOL! Glad you enjoyed the tension and all that. More of that to come (as you know). Your support is greatly appreciated as always.
I was going to chastise you for another evil cliffhanger, but I suppose since we know that Hermione lives, and is at least relatively unscathed, it makes it a little less nerve-wracking. Of course, all sorts of things could still have happened between then and now. It would be a weird mix of comforting and frightening to find that it was Snape entering the bedroom. I'm glad she stood up to him, not that I think it is really going to stop him from getting what he wants.I wonder what exactly made him tell her in the last chapter that it wasn't his fault if she didn't like what she saw. That is what has me wondering. I look forward to the next chapter!
Response from hexgirl (Author of Forgotten)
Well I'm glad you remembred that he said that to her as he left. Let's just say that there might be something she'd rather not remember. She is sure that he is a cold-blooded murderer and a traitor who fooled them all so she is feeling little comfort at this point, but plent of fear. She's being a lot braver than I would in her circumstance. Thanks for sticking with it so far.
