I've been a fan of JK Rowling for a long time, but only turned to fanfiction after DH - read it in one day, cried for three, turned to the internet the day after for more. I favor Severus/ Hermione pairings, especially those with lots of chapters and lovely smut scenes - sex by association, pathetic, isn't it?? I've posted a beta profile, if you'd like to check it out.
In real life I am a single mom living in a small town. Rewarding and boring and the same time. Lucky me ;)

Yea! Now both Severus and Hermione know where they belong– in each other's arms. Beth

I can't imagine them anywhere else, can you? It will take a little while to get there, but not too much. They are very smart, after all :)
Two words: I'm hooked! Can't wait to read more
Response from nastygrl (Author of A Victorious Draw)
Two more words, "thank you!" :)I've chapters in queue! This story is complete, so there will be no additional waiting.
Well now, what a surprise! To them at least. Actually, I really loved their reactions and wonder how they'll move forward from here.
Response from nastygrl (Author of A Victorious Draw)
It was very much a surprise! I think they've a few surprises in store :)
How can she feel anything but safe in Severus' arms.
Response from nastygrl (Author of A Victorious Draw)
She feels safe in Severus' arms, yes. But that doesn't mean she's comfortable with the idea of it!
Oh how can Severus refuse.
Response from nastygrl (Author of A Victorious Draw)
Oh, he could refuse all right! But Ron isn't a chess master for nothing, lol
Wow, another great chapter.
Response from nastygrl (Author of A Victorious Draw)
Thank you :) More is on the way.
Can't wait to see where this is going.
Response from nastygrl (Author of A Victorious Draw)
Thank you so much for your reviews! I'm glad you're enjoying it :)
Interesting and well thought out.
Response from nastygrl (Author of A Victorious Draw)
Thanks for the review! I try not to leave many gaps in the story :)
Hmm, perhaps Ron won't have to work quite as hard as he thought he might? Nah...just because they've both realized how perfect they are together doesn't mean they won't both be troublesome. Ron will still have to get them to realize that the other one realizes it too!Looking forward to the next chess move...
Response from nastygrl (Author of A Victorious Draw)
Ron has another move or two up his sleeve ;) He also knows that for them to truly believe they are right for each other, they have to realize it for themselves. He's merely setting the stage for them to work it out (with a little more help, of course).
A really good chapter. I am really enjoying your story. I really liked the way you got them both to realise their feelings and their need for each other.

Thanks for the review! I'm pleased to hear you're enjoying it. I was very nervous writing it, it's my first SS/HG!

Well you're doing a marvellous job so far. I really like your story.
Ron's intersession with Professor Snape on Hermione's behalf was brilliant. His obvious sincerity won Severus over, and perhaps they can find the common ground for a conversation that will lead to friendship and more.Nicely done.Beth
Response from nastygrl (Author of A Victorious Draw)
Oh, Ron knows what he's doing when it comes to Professor Snape. Ron would know that the best way to play Snape was in the role of White Night, or "good" knight, putting aside his individual decision or feeling to help someone else. It might go against Slytherin tendencies unless there was something in it for him, as well. Ron knew to capitalize on that. He also knew not to lie to the man :)
Ron handled his "break up" with Hermione with such sweet grace that I don't even think she felt jilted. It's really a change to read Ron as sensitive and intelligent and not as a self-centered git.Beth
Response from nastygrl (Author of A Victorious Draw)
I really like a grown-up, mature Ron, he might retain a little of his goofyness in some situations, but I'd like to think he grows into being Arthur and Molly's son :)
I can understand how it could have been difficult for Ron to remain with Hermione because he needed to bring all his thoughts and emotions to closure, and she needed to think and talk about hers. His decision to bring her and Professor Snape to the realization that they needed each other was not completely selfless, but it was made with the kindest of intentions. His mastery of chess will help him help them.Great beginning!Beth

Thank you for your review!I think it surprised Ron very much! But once he made that realization, and once he sat down to his chess board and thought it all out, the good and bad, what might and might not happen, the more determined he became. I hope you continue to enjoy the story.
This just gets better and better. Thank you!
Response from nastygrl (Author of A Victorious Draw)
I'm so glad you think so! Thanks for the review!
I can love a Ron who does his best to help Hermione falling into Severus arms, I really can:-))
Response from nastygrl (Author of A Victorious Draw)
Thanks for your review!I've always liked Ron; it's hard to find stories where Ron's good qualities shine. I wanted this story to do that. There's a reason why he's Harry's best friend. And that he sees Hermione belongs with Severus - well, all the better!
Hmmm, now to find out if he'll do it!
Response from nastygrl (Author of A Victorious Draw)
LOL! A lot happens :)
Oh no, Severus is being ganged up on by the Gryffindors! Ron probably realizes that Snape, being the consummate Slytherin, would see through any attempts he made to maneuver him into asking Hermione to the Gala. So instead ask him to do it outright, but make it out to be for an entirely different reason... I'm interested to see where Pansy is going to come into play, and also if a real relationship will develop between her and Ron. The game unfolds, and I look forward to the next move!
Response from nastygrl (Author of A Victorious Draw)
Thanks for your review!Severus would see through any attempt at maneuvering; what I was surprised about was that he didn't see Ron's maneuvering of Harry! I hope you continue to enjoy the story :)
I'm surprised Ron asked Severus directly, I expected more of a 'cat's paw' maneuver.
Response from nastygrl (Author of A Victorious Draw)
Thank you for your review!I'm surprised Severus didn't see through Ron's maneuvering of Harry! Severus would see through any attempt at manipulation, and Ron knew that. Ron moved Harry, making room for Severus to move later :)
Cool chapter. I'm really getting in to your story.
Response from nastygrl (Author of A Victorious Draw)
Thanks for your review, I'm glad you're enjoying the story!
Aww. What a sweet Ronald you've written. What a nice way to break up with someone! i wonder what Hermione will do with herself. Thanks for writing and sharing. I'm looking forward to the rest.
Response from nastygrl (Author of A Victorious Draw)
Thanks for the review!I like Ron! I've always thought he didn't get enough credit, and I'd like to think that he grows up to be a good man.I hope you continue to enjoy the story :)
Another really good chapter. I love the way you've portrayed a sensitive, intelligent Ron. That's pretty rare in fanfiction.
Response from nastygrl (Author of A Victorious Draw)
Thanks for your review!A sensitive, intelligent Ron is rare, and I don't know why, I've always liked him! He might be a bit thick and clumsy when it he's a teenager, but I'd like to think he can grow out it it!
Wow. That was a brilliant opening chapter.
Response from nastygrl (Author of A Victorious Draw)
Thank you very much! I hope the rest of the story can live up to that!
Smart fellow, that Ron. Really, what happened between Severus and Harry really is very private. It would make much more sense to ask how they handled eveything.
Response from nastygrl (Author of A Victorious Draw)
Thanks for the review :)Ultimately, it's how we handle obstacles that make us who we are. Ron knows this, thank goodness.
I just found this story tonight and I really like what I've read this far. Yours is by far one of the most intelligent Rons I have ever read; I like him. I'm excited to read more as it's posted.
Response from nastygrl (Author of A Victorious Draw)
Thanks for your review!Well, I'm glad you found the story, too! I like smart people, and I always thought Ron was never given enough credit or has been able to shine. Most want to make him bad to get him out of the way so Hermione and Severus can find their way to each other. I was given this prompt a year ago, and I'm thrilled with the way the story turned out. I really enjoyed writing about Ron and making him the good guy!
Ron was being the truest of friends. It shows his unconditional love for her. Nice conversation. You had me in tears!
Response from nastygrl (Author of A Victorious Draw)
Thank you so much for your review! I'm happy you feel a connection with the story :)
