Nothing like a bit of evil plotting, I always say! :)

Good thing Snape and Hermione are there to bring some levity to the likes of Umber.  Interesting developments here ...

This was a wonderful beginning with a perfect characterization of post-war Snape and Granger.  Loved the descriptions of the other conference attendees as zombies/refugees.  LOL!  So many great bits of dialogue in here: you had me smiling all the way through! I loved how he'd been following her work and papers—so much could be taken from that.  And of course, the way he brushed aside her modesty with his remark about recognizing her rambling prose and suffering her essays is such classic Snape! There was a compliment hidden in there, but he buried it with so much wonderful insult it might be very hard to find.  Good thing Hermione is such a clever witch. :-)

Well, Umber reminds me of Umbridge, of course. The way he is baiting them - there must be foul play afoot.

Interesting follow-up. I like the way they are ganging up.

Interesting opening. I like the way you've set this up.

Oooh, Granger and Snape at a symposium. Gotta love it!

This is off to a great start. Love the concept of them attending the symposium.

This line: "Networking," he said, disdain dripping from every syllable."

Just perfect! I could so see that one coming out of Alan Rickman's mouth! LOL.

Oh, I can see how the potions would have a adverse effect on Hermione's but I see no connection to Severus'?  I wonder how they will prove the man a fraud at the symposium? Or if there will be a side trip?

I like the way they compliment one another.  And nothing solidifies such a thing more than a common adversary.  This guy has me thinking he needs some serious comeuppance.  Nice addition to the story, belle.  =o)
