fifty-something happy wife and college mom.
Matchmaker is on a bit of a hiatus. We've had two deaths amongst our closest freinds, my beta is ill, and my mom is in bad health. So it may take me a while to get back to that cheery place where I can write such nonsense. I will finish it though, unless I die, too.

That's a great start. I like how you worked the premise. And it's nice to see Severus warming to Neville. I really do think they could respect each other for the expertise they have in their respective fields.

The dialogue between Circe and Severus was so fun and clever!
Response from pookah (Author of Matchmaker)
So kind of you to stop and say something nice about each chapter! I am happy you like Circe and Severus, the 'grown-ups' in the piece. althought Circe will never entirely grow up.

I'm sure Severus will straighten Neville out on his misconception.
Response from pookah (Author of Matchmaker)
No doubt with a good deal of looking haughtily and saying "I'm telling you this for your own good," as if it's something Neville doesnt want to hear. When actually Neville will be thrilled to think he has a chance with Ginny.

heavenly.this revenge he will never forget.let him place the tiara on a ginger-headed-sailor!Severus is invited to Hemiones new place whenever wherever. wow. He sees her in a different light already. but she? He has been moved into a glorious light by her 2 friends, but does she develop any feelings? not now. but later.and this monster of a beetle!! she again!! this means trouble. I can smell it!
Response from pookah (Author of Matchmaker)
A ginger-headed sailor! I love you! That is soooo funny!Oh I am so happy you are enjoying this tale! The next chapter is in beta today, but she is busy and I fear that it will not be ready before the deadline. (my fault, not sterling beta's!)I will finish this, however, and hope you will continue to read it after the votiing. Now do you really want me to tell you if Hermione will develop romantic feelings for Severus? That would be sweet, wouldn't it?Ah yes, we know that good can seldom come from Rita Skeeter's actions, eh? Maybe Severus will end up marrying Rita? Ah, You've discovered my secret! Rita Marries Snape! (Do you believe me?)
Response from salvamea (Reviewer)
me believe you?! can you see the scowl?!You wouldn't live to do that! to us!
Response from salvamea (Reviewer)
you had better make some beetlejuice. what about that.

ah this is fine. And Snape knows how to use a computer, astounding. Justin is still courting?Ginnys idea of using the same spell is close at hand, but could be more of self-torture than anything. What is a spell against relly falling in love. Just think, what will the persons in question feel and think when the effects wear of and they start to realise on what grounds they were leading their lifes for (how many years was it? 10?) such a long time. Even if it was mutual, it must have a toxic, lethal, unfriendly, bitter taste. I'm glad the girls don't do it.Blue bodies, you have wonderful ideas! THAT is a colourful picture for the prophet, they are right! But the respective wifes will be blue, too? What awaits Malfay? quick to the next chapter
Response from pookah (Author of Matchmaker)
Thank you for your long and thoughtful review! Snape knows about computers because he has always taken care to stay current with Muggle culture. He was always ready to slip into the Muggle world and disappear if things got too dangerous. Justin intended to court Hermione before he made the stupid bet,a nd he is doing so. His parents would be thrilled if he married her.I think your phrasing is so well done when you described the taste of he spell as toxic, etc. Very well worded and thought out. There are good reasons why that spell is illegal. (The phrase, 'the magic has gone out of our marriage' takes on a new meaning!)Yes anyone who touches the tap water or drinks it or brushes his teeth will be blue. Heehee!

I liked the note on how Severus' tea changed after the war.
Response from pookah (Author of Matchmaker)
I am so glad you liked that! This is a softer, gentler Severus comparted to the war years. Thank you for reviewing and telling me what you like.

The temper tantrum must have been amazing to see.

I hope you didn't mind just hearing it! I am certain Mrs. Black and Kreacher were glad the girls were too weakened by their grief-sticken state to do much damage.

A conspiracy a conspiracy a conspiracy, how exciting.and I hope they make up a wonderful plan for revenge!!oh, and this Justin Knightly, so adorable.at least he had the guts to come up with the truth. fine boy. and a good help in this game. five against three it is now. or five against five if we count ron and harry.an interesting person you bring in here with Circe. A very econoical way to use skills and knowledge in brewing potions. *grin*even teatime is pleasant to read in your story. fine.
Response from pookah (Author of Matchmaker)
I'm so glad you like Justin! He did the right thing. Circe's mention in Half Blood Prince was so intriguing that when I was using Blaise in this tale, she popped into my mind and wanted to come play. And I was not foolhardy enough to deny a request from a woman who had buried so many husbands!Thank you for reviewing, and for enjoying my story. I am so happy you enjoyed teatime. There will be more food in later chapters.

ah, I liked the smashing. was it China?how did you know the difference so well? experience? or experiment for the good of fanfiction? and now quick to the next chapter
Response from pookah (Author of Matchmaker)
Thank you for reading and reviewing! I have heard a few accidental breakages in my day, but did no experimentation for this tale. :-) The first smashing our lads heard was stoneware, and the later smashing of dishes, glasses, and the Welsh dresser that held them, was the fine china and crystal. Glad to clear up that academic quandry.

Response from pookah (Author of Matchmaker)

Another brilliant update! I am trilled with this story that promises no sucsess for fools thinking they can hurt and/or fool "our" girls unpunished. I love that there are several people who knows just what a foolish game/bet Blaize, Draco, Michael and Justin have made, the revenge is so much sweeter when one ads just how many knew about their stupidity:-) That said, let us not forget that Harry and Ron should get a kick in the but too, if not for anything else than being fools. I am not sure what to think about Justin. He might have seen the wrongness of his actions and truly, deeply regret them and want to make amends. If so, my regards for him grew several notches. But, he migth also play a high game of hoping to win the bet by telling the truth? It speaks in his favour though that he didn't utter false words of possible love, but rather stated why a union of convenience should be favourable for the both of them. Yup, I am really, really looking forward to read more of this!!!

Thank you for likeing my story and for giving such a thoughtful review. I am tickled that people seem to be going both ways about Justin. Time will tell if he is sincere or playing a deep game. I didn't want to put 'our' girls (i love that!) through the misery and embarrassment of having such a trick played on them. The next chapter has already been sent to Southern Witch.

I love how you got a parent involved in this and I can't wait to see how she will respond. I loved the brief, yet colorful history you gave us about Circe. With Hermione plotting revenge (with Blaise's involvement) I suspect that things will get very interesting soon.
Response from pookah (Author of Matchmaker)
Oh I am thrilled that you like Circe! Once Blaise was in the picture, Circe sort of forced herself in. From that tiny (but intriguing) mention of her in Half-Blood Prince, I found myself wondering what she'd be like. So, for once in the Potterverse, the grown-ups know what the 'children' are up to. I hope you continue to enjoy this little opus.

Interesting. Is Justin playing mind games to get ahead of Zabini or is he truly remorseful for his part in the bet? Ginny took away his one bargining chip when she revealed that they already knew everything. I almost wish that Ginny hadn't done that, just so they could see Justin's level of remorse for his stupidity.

Those Gryffindors just take people at face value, don't they? Harry never could see that Snape wasn't evil, for instance. Fortune has it that next chapter you'll see more of Justin, and maybe get a better idea of where he's coming from.Thank you for reviewing!
