I live in Virginia with my husband and 2 children. I make pottery, but, thanks to Harry Potter, I have rediscovered a passion for writing.
Reviews for Secret Recipe
The only "pure" thing in the Weasley household is their blood. Legislate a ruling to produce more children? Books bordering on Unforgivables? A piece on the side? No wonder they were effective in the war, they spent their lives practicing on each other. I hope Hermione wards the house against intrusion. Ron is a sneaky weasel and I don't want Hermione's lunch hours to start being interupted.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
I'm afraid that you will not get your wish, at least not right away, where the wards on her house are concerned. But the situation makes for more drama when Snape comes for lunch. You'll find out what I mean soon. The next chapter is in the queue. Thanks for reading and reviewing.

I have to admit the Weasley family scene scared me a bit but the part with Harry at the end more than made up for it.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
All of the pieces will fall into place over the next few chapters. Others have voiced concerns over that scene at Ron's birthday party, but I needed to give him a prod in a particular direction, and felt that for the sake of the story line , the party was the logical place to do it.I hope I didn't offend you. I do NOT condone such practices. But different societies have different customs. Arab countries allow one man to have several wives. Here in the US it is against the law. It was easy for me to imagine that the pureblood wizards might condone such a practice. Thanks so much for reading and reviewing. I promise that what little lewd behavior that is alluded to will not be rewarded.

Whew, great chapter. With in-laws like that, who needs family. Man, talk about your noisy, interfering family. Love the chapter. Can't wait to see what happens Monday.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
And poor Hermione doesn't have her parents to talk with anymore.I hear so many nightmarish tales of in-laws. Luckily, mine are nice (and live in other countires).I'm glad you are enjoying the story. Thanks so much for your kind review.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAargggggg! I am pissed at Harry for knowing about that manipulative charms book and not doing anything about it. I want it burned banned and then blionked? I ran out of b words. Arthur was really sloshed huh? I would have expected Fluer to say those things. Too bad she was in Egypt. Please tell me the next chapter is in the queue and its the date on Monday????
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
The next chapter is in the queue, but it may take a few days. The admins are very busy right now.I made sure that Arthur was pretty sloshed before he gave Ron such bad advice. Yeah, Fluer would be more likely to share that philosophy.I'm glad you are enjoying the story. Thanks so much for taking the time to review.

I think Arthur should be shot, along with the rest of the Weasley males in this chapter. I hope a divorce happens soon.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
A divorce is on the horizon, but a lot has to happen before then. Thanks for following along, and especially for your comments. The reviews keep me going.

Is it terribly wrong that a marriage crumbling makes me a bit happy?! I think you did well in describing that hermione and ron are just not compatible. Enjoyable read as always; I look forward to the next chapter. ~kizzy
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
Hi kizzy. I must admit to a bit of pleasure in their crumbling marriage as well. It was doomed from the start, just as Snape predicted. Only it lasted way too long. Now there are children involved, which complicates everything. Thanks so much for your comments. I'm so glad you are enjoying my story.

I just started reading this story and am very impressed whit what you have written so far. I found Ron to be his dunderhaed self and wanted to slap him and all the men in that family, they have no clue as to how to treat a women at all. Your Snape and Hermione are outstanding. I hope she does not waite till Hugo goes to School to kick Rons butt. Looking forward to your next update with great anticipation.

Good God! I cannot imagine those words coming out of Arthur's mouth...Molly's yes.I hope Ron shows up at the house on Monday and Severus kicks his ass to the curb.

Oh my, where to begin? First of all, thank you for a brilliant update! Seccond, are all Weasley men mentally retarded or is there any hope for Bill since he moved so far away?Maybe Hermione should somehow make it public knowlegde that Weasley men have to resort to spells to manage any woman wanting them? I have tons of ways I want them humiliated and destroyed, being the laughing stock of the Magical World seems like an easy punishment for me...Harry and Ginny gets points from me, though I will remove some points from Harry for knowing about the book and not telling. Surely it must be illegeal to use spells like this? Imperio is among the four most illegal curses, and this sounds awfully close to an Imperio. For Molly, she should know that huer husband thinks pureblooded men are allowed to have something on the side and that not having the money for it were one of the reasons for Arthur not having a mistress. That should give her something else to worry about for a while. Arhg how mad I am at Weasleys for the moment, you must make them pay in some way, pleeeeaaaase????
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
Don't worry, Ron will get his eventually.I'm so glad you are enjoying the story. More to come soon, the chapter is in the queue.

I got to the end of this chapter and was horribly disappointed that there wasn't an icon to click for one more chapter. Actually one more wouldn't be enough, but I wasn't ready to stop reading:)Excellent job, I am really enjoying this. Warm regards,Fizzabella

I love this story. It is also fantastic that you initiate (and sustain) the relationship 'as a meeting of minds'-well at this stage. In a way you have them already courting the other in the deep recesses of their minds, such that they both seem aware of what meeting alone will seem to others
and each other
. Considering who they are, if it gets out there will be more than a few howlers flying to them - but I assume there will be no consideration for the state of Ron and Hermione's marriage prior, or will Ron admit some blame including the effect on Hugo(Ha! Ha! Oops! I really shouldn't be nasty about Ron, but it comes so easy). The tension between Hermione and Severus is palpable even though they have not met yet (like two circling kneazles on heat?
), including the worry/self-doubt about their appearances - they really seem to want this. You having them use email does enable them to decrease the emotional distance quickly too (I love their email addresses).'Scuse the ramble. Anyway looking forward to more.Cheers

Hi
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
, and thanks so much for the "ramble." I love to read what people are thinking. It means a lot that you took all that time to write such a thoughtful response.I also find Ron an easy target, and must admit that I let Snape do the sniping later in the story on my behalf!SS & HG are more curious than anything at this point. They are both not sure what to expect after all these years, but they both also remember certain subdued feelings that have, until now, been lying dormant in the deep recesses of their souls...

I forgot to mention the first time it came up that I am tickled with the idea of SS redoing all the potions textbooks under a pen name. That ought to show them all! I am looking forward to their first date Monday when he personally delivers the next potion.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
I had to give him something to do for all of those years. I figured it was a logical step and something he would actually enjoy.Their first date meeting is very enlightening, but you will have to wait for something else important to happen first. Thanks so much for the review.

I hooted with laughter when Snape gave his email address! Too funny! I like how Snape has unearthed his sense of humor. I am looking forward to their correspondence.
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
I don't know if you are familiar with Don Rickles, but Snape has the same dry, cutting wit, just not so crass. They say a sense of humor is a sign of intelligence. We all know Snape has plenty of that! Thanks, as always, for your kind review.

What a clever idea about Hugo's illness! When Hermione finds out I bet she will leave Ron in a heartbeat. Although why she didnt after she discovered he had been using charms on her to manipulate her is beyond me. 5 points to your house for Snape using a computer. Betcha he likes ebay too!
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
Hermione stays with Ron for the sake of the children. But she needs to understand that two unhappy parents under the same roof does a child no good. She'll figure it out soon.I'm sure Snape would like purchasing anything and everything possible through the internet so he doesn't have to venture out into the Muggle world any more than absolutely necessary. Thanks so much for reading and reviewing, MollySister. The reviews are so much fun to read.

Oh how wonderful. I get to follow two episilatory stories at once...I am following another one on a different site too. I do so love this type of character and communicatory development.I can't wait to see how their first meeting goes.

great update! i just love the thought of severus using a computer. love their e-mail correspondence. but it was perfect that she sent him a hand written thank you note. love this story and i look forward to the next chapter. thanks so much. give it hair and it could be snape!

I think that he would definitely be old school, and even though she is from a different generation, she would want to keep certain traditions, such as hand written thank-you notes.I really like your computer smiley. And I agree, give it hair and it coudl be Snape!

Can we get rid of Ron next, since he's not really in the picture? I am almost looking forward to the meeting as much as Hermione is.

Thank you so much for the update! There are several things I really like with this fic, I will only mention a couple: I love that you have a Severus that allow him self to think that not only migth there be a special someone in his future still, but that he actually allow him self to aknowlegde that Hermione could be his special someone. It not only shows that he aknowlegde the attraction he mush have felt/still feel for her, but also aknowlegde that they could make eachother happy. He not only place value on Hermione making him happy, but value in himself that he migth make her happy. I know there is still a long way to go, but at least they have some kind of map:-) I also like a Hermione who still figths her battles, meaning that she still figths for what she believe in. She believes in Severus and no public oppinion would be able to sway her mind. I like that, and Severus needs someone who believes in him and trust him like that! Hermione should cross her fingers that Lavender sways Ron away, that would be one problem less for her to deal with and save her the trouble of being the one leaving (not to mention the sooner Ron is out of Hermiones life, the happier I, and Severus, would be:-)) I look forward to read more!!!!

Hi,
Response from ClayPotter (Author of Secret Recipe)
, and thanks so much for that insightful review. I feel that Severus has plenty of self confidence, even after suffering the conviction from the Ministry. He knows that his actions were honorable and he doesn't have to prove that to anyone. And there are many reasons from his past that he could easily harbor a soft spot for Hermione. At this point Hermione can only imagine what kind of person Snape has turned into after almost 20 years. After all, she wrote him for five years, but he never wrote back to her... Until now.Lavendar will be sneeking into the picture very soon, but it won't bring the happiness that you might expect. The next chapter is in the queue.
