Years after the fall of Voldemort, a mysterious illness throws the wizarding world into chaos. While struggling to find a cure, Hermione learns new things about old acquaintances, and Severus learns that self-preservation may not be the path he wants to travel. Harry learns the price of neglect, and Ron learns why “May you live in interesting times” is a curse and not a blessing. Draco learns… very little at all.

Hello, dear readers and fellow writers!
I read and write in the Inuyasha and Harry Potter fandoms, preferring non-canon pairing that involve bad boys of the fandoms: Sesshomaru, Snape, Draco, Lucius (mmm, Slytherins), and Hermione is the Potterverse bicycle.
Completed fics in the Potterverse:
* The Devil is in the Details (HG/SS - M for language and violence - and I'm happy to mention that it was a Featured Story at TPP for 2/08 and nominated for the SS/HG awards Round Two)
* For All Intents and Purposes (HG/SS - M for language and violence)
Completed fics for Inuyasha:
* Darkness (Kag/Sessh - NC17 for smut - won multiple awards at IY groups)
* To Shed a Little Light (Kag/Sessh - NC17 for smut- won multiple awards at IY groups)
* Quadrangle (Kag/Sessh - NC17 for smut)
* Moving Pictures (Sessh/OC - NC17 for smut)
* Don't Know What You've Got 'til it's Gone (Kag/IY - NC17 for smut - and this was my first fic ever, so be warned)
WIP:
* Cereal Box Romance (Kag/Sessh - Inuyasha - updated irregularly- won multiple awards at IY groups)
* Primal (Kag/Sessh - Inuyasha - pretty much abandoned)
Upcoming projects? Yes. I've got a one-shot HG/SS cooking that I may never finish or post, and I've started a multi-chapter HG/SS as well. I will probably write a number of the chapters before I start posting, so you probably won't see anything new for a while.

Me again. Made the mistake of reading the first chapter directly before I left on vacation, thinking I'd have wi-fi at the hotel. No such luck, it was a no-go, and I spent more than a few grumbling minutes wondering what was up with Becoming Silhouettes.
Thankfully, I'm home and caught up, and it was good. Mm, those impossibly long, thick lashes may be my favorite feature of his.
I realize you were a Dramione shipper oh so long ago, before you saw the light, and that Draco serves a lovely if annoying purpose in this story, but I still might have to bend the boy over my knee and paddle him.
Hm. He might like that...
Author's Response: Yes, I think he would. :)
I have recently discovered the joys of unlimited data plans for my cell phone, which displays popular fanfiction sites just fine. :) It's brilliant! On the bus, at the airport, in line at the post office...
Yeah. Not addicted or anything.
lulabelle72's response: I just learned to text.
No, seriously, about a week ago. And I still suck at it. And I still can't figure out how to change my ringtone.
Unlimited data plans, you say? I say, um, what?
LOL!!!
Another great chapter!I am very intrigued... so I won't go on and on about how much I love your writing and your wit!

This is SO much fun to read! Great chapter... Draco was priceless, Snape was Snape (thank God!) and Hermione was her brilliant self.Fabulous! I enjoyed every single word.

Hurray! Though how you found it, I don't know - I haven't updated since before voting. :( I've got 8 and 9 written, but I like to be several chapters ahead in case I need to go back and fix stuff. :)

i was so thrilled to see this new story by you once the anonymous authors were revealed! and it was mercifully very slow at work today, so i spent all my downtime catching up with the narrative. of course my favorite thing was blissed out severus (along with everyone else, i'm sure!) the photographs were a little creepy, but not nearly as creepy as the strange illness and ominous mushrooms! and wizard/muggle riots and such. you are such a brilliant storyteller, i'm just delighted to get to come along on another adventure with you. :D

Good for you! I'm so far behind on all the fics that I follow on TPP it isn't even funny. It doesn't help that my sister got me hooked on another fandom. :PGlad to have you along!

Exceptionally well written and very, very interesting.

This story just gets more and more interesting. I can't wait to see what happens when Snape comes to his senses.

Poor Severus - it will be insult to injury, won't it?

Drats! So much for my theory that Snape's infection would be minor -- thus proving that he isnt, and never was, a Dark wizard. I'm confident, however, that Hermione's cure will soon set him a-right.Looking forward to more!
Response from rhiannonofthemoon (Author of Becoming Silhouettes)
I think that having the talent and knowledge to use Dark magic doesn't necessarily make one evil - it is how one uses it. Severus is a good guy. :)

Oh, things are starting to get very interesting. Wouldn't it be funny (funny, ironic, not funny 'ha ha') if Snape's bout with the Rash turns out to be rather mild? Can't wait to see what happens.

This story is just so entertaining. I really like 'your' Snape.Harry has finallly figured out that the missing mushrooms are important, though he needed some inadvertent help from Luna. (Ron, of course, is just as 'helpful' as usual.)
Response from rhiannonofthemoon (Author of Becoming Silhouettes)
Ha! Ron has his moments, but they are few and far between. Severus is a difficult character to write - he has been challenging me throughout this fic. Glad you like him. :)

One has to wonder why dear 'Uncle Sev' is so adamant about not doing business with Hermione. And how long will it take for the idiots at the Auror's department to realise the connection between the Rash and the missing mushrooms?
Response from rhiannonofthemoon (Author of Becoming Silhouettes)
If the Ministry is anything like the management at my place of employment, then they would have to be smacked in the face several times with the mushrooms, fall ill, hire a team of over-paid consultants to analyze the problem, then reprioritize the project into obscurity. Needless to say, they would never make the connection.

excellent handling with the draco/severus interlude.

eeeeek. Krum was when she was 14. That would get noticed by the authorities (in our world at the moment -- sorry, just been to a pedophilia/child porn workshop last week!!!)But stoned snape was the best. And you wrote malfoy in a wonderful way! I still like it a lot and am pretending he wasnt noticing her before she was 18. :-)edited coz cant type

and once again to let you know this really deserved being voted for. I hope you do really well.
Response from rhiannonofthemoon (Author of Becoming Silhouettes)
Well, when you think about it like that, then yes - ew. However, when I was writing that, I wasn't thinking of him noticing her as a sexual object at 14. Just... noticing her. His obsession grew as she got older. I think that having started working as a Professor at such a young age, he must have been warped just the tiniest bit. Still, a bit creepy.

Oooh! I've been meaning to comment on the destruction of the wizarding world in the dark spore scourge, but I've been getting caught up in the SS/HG side of things. Oops. That the spores amplify a person's dark nature is really scary. And I can see things going to hell in a handbasket as a result of that. And I guess it was only a matter of time before things went south like that at the Ministry.I do wonder how Ginny is affected (if at all) because of her former possession by Riddle. I have some ideas and will be interested in seeing if they bear out.Poor Hermione sitting on the cure not knowing how horribly wrong things were going in the WW. One can only hope that she isn't too late.
Response from rhiannonofthemoon (Author of Becoming Silhouettes)
It's easy to get caught up in the HG/SS stuff, believe me! As much as I like further the plot and all that rot, the romance is very fun to write.Yes, what has happened to Ginny? Hmmm....

Interesting. It's nice to see her getting to learn about the hidden side of Severus, both what he was telling her and what she could learn through 'snooping'. And Draco must feel ashamed that a noble Gryffindor found what he hadn't. LOL
Response from rhiannonofthemoon (Author of Becoming Silhouettes)
He might, but he also knows how to turn a situation to his advantage. ;) Though, how much do you want to bet that if Draco had found them, he wouldn't have gotten caught snooping?

Hermione to the rescue. Good girl. I love that Draco was repulsed by her research methods. And it's good to see she was more careful. I hope that her potion is helpful or at least not harmful. And can I smack Draco for thinking of contracts at a time like this? LOL
Response from rhiannonofthemoon (Author of Becoming Silhouettes)
Yes, I think Draco might need a spanking. That's just his way of dealing with things - to think about other things and keep himself busy. I'm also guilty of the same.

Hmmm... I have been wondering if perhaps Voldie having camped in the Forest has had anything to do with the mushrooms, and now I'm wondering even more since he says they are dark magic. Hopefully Hermione will be more careful than Severus was.

I love the idea of Lilliput's and the idiot rich fawning all over it. LOL Great job on this chapter. I love the Malfoy scheming to get in as her potions provider and how poorly Severus took her being their new customer. Good luck to Draco smoothing over this one.
Response from rhiannonofthemoon (Author of Becoming Silhouettes)
It is something that the very rich of the Wizarding world might like, isn't it? Fashionable, but uncomfortable, and probably won't last for more than a few years - just enough time for a new trendy place to open.

Very nice start. I like the looks of things. And it's nice to have the mystery of the mushroom rash in with everything else.
Response from rhiannonofthemoon (Author of Becoming Silhouettes)
Mmm, plot. Let's hope it doesn't get in the way of romance! So many things to juggle! Arg!Now I'm just getting silly. I should probably go to bed. Thanks for reading and reviewing! :)

E-gads the trouble at St. Mungo's is horrible! How are two Arurors, ok three, going to wrap up that mess? So, snarky Severus is back. Too bad. When will he cave in and realize he could have the girl and keep her!
Response from rhiannonofthemoon (Author of Becoming Silhouettes)
Well, fortunately there were more than Aurors than that. Otherwise, it would have been impossible. Yes, Severus is back to himself. I think it will take quite a bit of convincing and some coniving to get him to see the light.

I like this...a lot. Having us see different parts of the story happening to other characters and it all tying together somehow....I'm hooked.Great job!

Thank you! I usually write from one or two POV, so all the switching around sometimes makes my brain hurt. Glad you like it!

The conflagration at St. Mungo's was horrible. Muggles and Wizards fighting one another... again.I'm so sorry that Severus became his usual defensive, snarky self so soon, but I never really expected this particular leopard to change his spots so soon either. I'll just have to be patient, won't I?What will Hermione find in the Daily Prophet when she gets down to the kitchen? I suppose it will be about what happened at St. Mungo's.How clever our Draco is today! He has managed to blackmail Uncle Severus with information that Hermione already knows. I wonder what Severus will do when he finds out that Hermione has been well aware of his collection of photographs of her almost from the beginning?Another wonderful chapter! This is magical, and I am caught up in its spell! Thank you,Beth

I can't write a sappy Snape for too long. He just isn't Snape without the snark!Yes, Draco is quite the Slyterin. He knows how to turn a situation to his advantage. :) I can't imagine Snape being any more pleased that Hermione knows than he is that Draco knows. Hopefully, her plans don't blow up in her face! We shall see, shan't we?Thanks so much!
