Reviews for Future Perfect
Ok, this is a way different future than I thought you were going to do...I'm rather relieved. Ooh, will Severus meet Hermione? Oh, the possibilities!
Response from Doomspark (Author of Future Perfect)
Yup, yup... lots and lots of possibilities...
When Severus is the main character I cannot but wonder if at any moment the rug is going to be pulled out from under him. But, while waiting to see what is going to happen, it looks like his life is looking up. All except for that Sirius Black! He seems as much an idiot in this timeline as the original did.
Response from Doomspark (Author of Future Perfect)
*gives the rug a good yank* Next chapter... things aren't all roses and sunshine.
I just got up to speed on this story and I have to admit, I so did not see it coming ... Tom Riddle as Headmaster of Hogwarts? Color me SHOCKED! As for Severus, this is definitely a unique spin on the common Time-Turner accident story and I can't wait to see where you take us from here. Well done!
Response from Doomspark (Author of Future Perfect)
Thanks! I hope you continue to enjoy the ride.
Ch. 2 and 3 were well worth that brief wait after Ch. 1. The plot twists are amazing! Patiently [ahem, arches brow] waiting for more.
Response from Doomspark (Author of Future Perfect)
"Patiently"??? Go read my other tales while I'm writing!Glad you're enjoying the story!
Wow! this is definitely firmly AU. I am really enjoying it as the unknown 'moves the sign posts' nicely and gets the cogwheels of my mind turning in wonder thinking about what you are going to switch next. A nice Riddle, a fair (in the behavioural sense) Malfoy and a sage Filch...I am truly hooked. Although I have trouble seeing Sirius having the self-discipline for Potions. I can hardly wait to see what you have in store for the Golden Trio.
Cheers.
Response from Doomspark (Author of Future Perfect)
Oh wait and see! Everything is *not* roses and sunshine...
Questions, questions, and more questions. Oh, I loved what you did with Filch, and of course, Riddle! Minerva's reaction was funny, but annoying all in the same breath.Okay, Lucius doesn't remember him, neither does Poppy, neither does Sirius, so, my guess, (now I'm a huge Star Trek geek, so bear with me.) is that not only has he shot into the future, but also into a different quantum reality. Now, can you even tell me if I'm right?
Response from Doomspark (Author of Future Perfect)
Next chapter - whenever I get it finished - will explain a little bit more about what's happened. And I too am a Star Trek geek - mostly Original and Next Gen.
Response from debjunk (Reviewer)
I, personally, have never met a Star Trek I didn't like.
Oh Lor... It's Dumbledore, isn't it? This is an alternate reality where Dumbledore, the nasty manipulative git, never became Headmaster, and never pumped his anti-Slytherin propaganda into his students psyche and so never created that whole Voldemort fiasco. (it's one of my pet theories that Dumbledore's manipulations actually created Voldemort, just so Dumbles can then 'fight for the Light' and reap all the fame and adolation he so craves)Added this one to my favourites. Am gagging for an update...
Response from Doomspark (Author of Future Perfect)
*chortle... smirk* *whistles innocently*
At least he knows where he is. 1996 that would be the sixth year of Harry and Co. No wonder there is a Pettigrew in the lot. I'm very glad to have an update so soon. Thank you so much for that.
ooh, I wish Lucius could see the Time-Turner that his other self gave to Severus! and I wonder if this Lucius remembers a fellow student named Severus who vanished one day. since this Tom Riddle is not Voldemort (or maybe he is??), then the Potters and Harry might still be alive, but no cause to fight for. did Severus' disappearance cause Tom Riddle to not become Voldy?? can't wait for more, Doomie!!
Response from Doomspark (Author of Future Perfect)
I have a definite feeling that I'm going to be lynched in a couple more chapters... but I'll post them as soon as they're polished to my satisfaction.
Response from June W (Reviewer)
lynched?? uh-oh.....
Cool! A nice reversal of the well-worn "Hermione goes back to Snape's school days' plotline. It seems that Snape's absence from the original timeline has skewed a lot of people's fate!
Response from Doomspark (Author of Future Perfect)
Oh the fun and games are just beginning! I hope you continue to enjoy the tale!
Umm, shouldn't Snape be recognized by at least half the staff who knew him in 1975? Especially Black, Malfoy etc?
Response from Doomspark (Author of Future Perfect)
Nope - for reasons that should become clear in the next chapter or so.
It's so interesting! Filch and Hagrid respected members of Riddle's staff? Hagrid and Riddle served detentions together? Lucius Malfoy doesn't like SS's remark about temporary allies. It's not at all as one would expect it to be, even without Snape overhearing Trewlawney's prediction. I'm eager to find out what is making such a difference. And it's a good difference in some people's lives, Sirius is alive and working, not in prison, Malfoy and Riddle seem different. I want More details of this new world! I look forward to his old teachers and freinds remembering him, or not!
Response from Doomspark (Author of Future Perfect)
My inner-goblin assures me that there's a logical reason for all that's going on. Trust me! Trust me! *grin*
what a great time turner idea! i can hardly wait to see how this timeline diverged. great stuff! thanks so much
In his future or another potential future altogether?
Wow. I am dying to know where you are headed. This is amazing. So, Lucius, Sirius and Riddle are on staff. Filch is not evil, and Riddle is not prejudiced against Muggleborns??? This is amazing stuff, inspired. Well done, you!
Response from Doomspark (Author of Future Perfect)
That's a fair summary - but there's much more to come. I hope you continue to read and review!
Just to put it out there: This timeline is sooooo odd. Love it!
Response from Doomspark (Author of Future Perfect)
Thanks! I hope you continue to read and review!
Mysteries, mysteries, mysteries... I'm growing more intrigued by the paragraph. I wonder why Lucius doesn't recognize Severus, though? That leads me to think that this isn't the future, but instead some alternative universe. Of course, the presence of Riddle as Headmaster should be enough to say that, too... I'm so confused now. Please hurry with the next installment! ^_^
Response from Doomspark (Author of Future Perfect)
I'm working on it! Honest! Glad you're enjoying the tale.
Do you think Lucius remembers him? Interesting development....he gave him the time turner after all....HMMMM. Great job! Keep the updates coming!

Ah, the cat is out of the bag. Interesting staff assembly! :o)
Wow! There's a real situation going on now isn't there?
Response from Doomspark (Author of Future Perfect)
Oh definitely!
A Time Turner story that's actually INTERESTING?? Wow. I will be reading the rest of this one.
Response from Doomspark (Author of Future Perfect)
*grin* Thanks! I hope my tale continues to please.
I very much enjoyed 'Invictus' and am thrilled to join you on another journey. I think that AU is where it's at. I am so engaged when an author manages to make something of his own while holding on to what makes us revel in the Potterverse. I look forward to more.
Response from Doomspark (Author of Future Perfect)
I admit to being "old-school" when it comes to fanfic; I really didn't like the last three books, so I tend to ignore them when I write. I'm very pleased that you liked Invictus, and I hope you continue to enjoy my stories.
RIDDLE! Oh man this will be interesting!
Response from Doomspark (Author of Future Perfect)
Yup yup, there's a reason this story is AU. I hope you continue to enjoy it!
Headmaster Riddle? Wow didn't see that coming however it wasn't Voldemort so that might make it a good thing???? We'll see! Great job.
Response from Doomspark (Author of Future Perfect)
Thanks! I hope you keep reading!
Very interesting and 'hard to put down'. More soon, please?
Response from Doomspark (Author of Future Perfect)
What makes it interesting? I'd like to know so I can keep doing it! I'll update in the next day or so.
Response from Kailin (Reviewer)
First of all, it's usually Hermione who goes back in time; in this story, Severus goes forward in time. Secondly, I wasn't expecting Headmaster Riddle! This is just very different from what I'm accustomed to in a time-turner fic, and I think that's why I enjoyed it so much. Plus, you're an excellent writer, of course.
