Woman of mystery. The stories I write are the most interesting things about me.
Reviews for That Language He Has Never Spoken
I couldn't stop reading long enough to review each chapter and for that, I am sorry. This is powerfully written and imagined. I am so very impressed and moved by the hope and the hurt and the desperation in Severus and in Hermione, young though she is in this tale. I also really like how you weave the tale in with the canon timeline. And how I wish that Hermione could find the little blue bottle, remember it, administer it and save him in time. *sniff

Thank you so much--I'm delighted to hear this drew you in. I'm glad too that you picked up on Hermione's desperation as well as Snape's, as I worried his POV might overpower the sublter stuff going on with her.
Sad. Beautiful. The way it had to end. Poor Severus.
Response from madqueenmab (Author of That Language He Has Never Spoken)
Sigh. I know. But he lives on in fanfic (just not this particular story).
Oh to die with such suffering; imagining that more terrors could be coming while you are helpless. It is all so sad it makes my heart hurt.

Poor Snape indeed. I feel totally guilty now, even if JKR killed him first. Thanks so much for reading and reviewing.
I think this was the perfect ending. It would have changed the entire tone of the piece had you provided some sort of recognition with Harry or breakdown by Hermione.
Response from madqueenmab (Author of That Language He Has Never Spoken)
Thank you! When I started this I was contemplating a bit of an AU ending, Severus living or Hermione recognizing his feelings or Harry doing something other than standing there, but nothing else really fit. Glad you liked it this way...
Yes, it was a very sad ending, but I think Severus found peace in the end and sometimes that's the best you can hope for.
Response from madqueenmab (Author of That Language He Has Never Spoken)
Thank you; I really like the way you put that--I hadn't realized till now that the end is peaceful in its own way, even with all the chaos of the battle.
"All he knows is this: as long as he thinks of the scent of honey, there is light enough within him to call forth a Patronus, despite what role he played in darkening the world so that young as they are, radiant as they are, both women have had terrible cause to cast one."This was GORGEOUS! I really hate to see it end...your style for this was so poignant and raw and perfect. You have a gift for angst. *hurries off, recently minionised, to read the rest of your work.
Response from madqueenmab (Author of That Language He Has Never Spoken)
Thank you! There's not much "rest of my work" as I'm pretty new to this fanfic thing, but I hope to have more out there soon.
Oh, poor Sev. I really feel bad for him.
Response from madqueenmab (Author of That Language He Has Never Spoken)
Me too. At least other fics are kind to him. Thanks for reviewing.
He's really, really been hurting inside, hasn't he? The poor guy. Very powerful.
Response from madqueenmab (Author of That Language He Has Never Spoken)
He reallly is hurting in this one, and in cannon too. I suppose that's why I'm drawn to this pairing in terms of fic. It gives two of the more wounded characters a chance to heal eachother.
I am really going to enjoy reading this again straight through after it is completed. It is torturing me to not know the ending!!

You don't have long to wait, I promise. I just put the next chapter in the queue.
another wonderful chapter thank you

And thank *you* for another wonderful review. :)
This was powerful, angst-ridden, desperate, and HOT! I love the inner dialogue Snape has with himself and he is just shocked with Hermione's reaction to his advances, even in his fantasies.Livvy
Response from madqueenmab (Author of That Language He Has Never Spoken)
Thanks so much. He's having a tough time in this particular story, so I'm glad he at least can enjoy some hotness.
This is INCREDIBLE! You have his character just so...SO! I'm in awe...and while you may not own the Potterverse, after that last chapter you certainly own me! Very well done!
Response from madqueenmab (Author of That Language He Has Never Spoken)
I guess that makes you my first minion... must start crafting evil plans. Thanks so much for reviewing.
Excellent chjapter. Great lemons and a hefty dollop of pathos. My heart is bleeding for Sev! Poor Sev. :'(
Response from madqueenmab (Author of That Language He Has Never Spoken)
Thank you so much.
Not sure if I have reviewed any of the earlier chapters. If not, an 'excellent!' to all of them. You can't keep your eyes away from those two characters, even though you know there's disaster waiting to happen.
Response from madqueenmab (Author of That Language He Has Never Spoken)
Thank you so much. It's nice to hear you find my take compelling.
I can't even begin to sort through all the thoughts running through my head after this chapter. It was positively amazing. You have slipped so deep into his character; it's like watching two trains approaching each other, knowing there is no point to even hitting the brakes or trying to stop because there is no where else to go but together.
Response from madqueenmab (Author of That Language He Has Never Spoken)
Glad you found it moving. I like your train metaphor; you're right, at this point it's too late to stop collision.
Great chapter, I just hope we will be able to continue in this fan fiction world.

Thanks. One chapter left on this one, then it's on to new stories for me!
Powerful chapter.

Astounding, breathtaking. Just...brilliant. Thank you.
That was one of the best fanfics I've ever read, in any universe and in any genre. Truly. It has painted so vivid a picture in my mind that I doubt I will ever forget it. It's absolutely brilliant. Thank you for taking the time to write it and share it with us.
Strong stuff. Very sensual with all these smells that are almost a taste sensation. The way his memories and inner voice are drifting in and out of focus and to know there is an antidote right there...and still, no, he couldn't be safed in your story. The vineyard as a safe harbour will have to be utilised in another story. Extremely well done, thank you!
As horribly DH compliant this might be, it is magnificently crafted. His desperate chants really tore my heart. Thank you for bringing voice to Severus' death that JKR couldn't. In my heart, this isn't his true end :-)
Wow. I am still breathless. Last chapter left my throat tight, I almost couldn't bear him saying "Put me in a tree". And while I am utterly sad that the end is not so cheerful, I feel it is the right one. He could only be redeemed by his own death. *ducks and hides from fans with flaming torches*Wonderful writing!
Many thanks for this incredible fascinating poetic work.
