Can't wait to find out how you rescue Neville, Hermione, and Severus from their impasse. Nice work!

I'm glad you trust me to save them, Emmeline! One more chapter, up very soon. Thanks for the note!
You have to know when to fold them! LOL! Has Severus been listening to Kenny Rodgers? Great chapter. Gosh I am glad Hermione decided to get off the pot!Livvy

Hi, Livvy! He may have heard The Gambler - sounds like it, doesn't it? One more chapter to go!
Another beautiful chapter, but would you bring Neville's lady love in to save the day already. I do not know how much more Severus and Hermione can take? Irish

Hi, Irish! Shug asked for Angst, and she's getting it in spades, isn't she?One more chapter, up in a day or so!
Response from irishredlass (Reviewer)
Indeed she is...when my birthday comes I would prefer a little angst and a lot of love with less snarky Severus who will reveal his insecurities to Hermione. Just hinting! Irish
I was thinking of you and your wonderful WIPs just earlier today and I'm really glad to see that you've updated at least one of them. This was a really sweet chapter and I really you won't have them jumping more hoops. They've been through enough, I want a happy end and I want it now.But thanks for the update!!gab

Hi, Gabi! The good news is that the next chapter will be up in the next day or so. This is funny that you feel so strongly that they should have a happy ending RIGHT NOW. I have other readers who think he hasn't suffered enough, even now. Thanks for the note!
Oh, please let her catch him in his room before he leaves!
Response from Subversa (Author of Across the Anvil)
You'll know very soon! Thanks for the note ;)
Severus is playing dirty by getting Neville drunk. Hermione's playing dirty by dressing seductively. How did these two get together in the first place?
All of your stories rock. They really do.But this one... it's a bit different, isn't it? Well, it's actually different than most of the HGSS stories I've read. I actually get to see Snape in action here. And I can't deny that I like it. Oh so very much.I admire Granger, I really do. There's no way I'd remain calm and not accept his advances if it were me sitting there in that cottage. And I do rather enjoy Veritaserum scenes, so I have to say I really look forward to your next installment in this story.Ah... Veritaserum... Such a nifty little potion. Wouldn't mind having it at hand myself.
This story is seriously awesome, you know? Possessive!Snape is my favorite...
this is just getting better and better! wow!please update soon :)
ooohhh your Severus in this is sooo sexy! Lucky hermione!!
Wow. I love everything about this except the sage in his cologne...
‘Snape dances a treat,' and my, wouldn't I love to see that! This is wickedly wonderful. He'd never admit his romantic streak (so she should make him in the next chapter, among all the other things she will have the opportunity to hear!!), but it's rather touching that Neville's admissions about Abby actually seem to get to him, and that he already confesses that he essentially read the wedding notice in the paper and dropped everything to find her.Looking forward to hearing what he has to say under the effects of Veritaserum. This should be fascinating!
"I’ve been working for four years to get to a place where I felt I had the right to ask you to listen to me" Really? Severus sure as hell doesnt act very repentant. its more like he is goading her, always making her angry. I want to hear him appologize, reveal hurt and and pain. Severus its not nice to dump Hermione. Oh yes and I must tell you: EVIL cliff hanger!
Loving it so far, and I look forward to more.
Excellent, very much like everything you write. Update soon, pls!
Thank you for the update:-) I am still mad at Snape, but I am very interested in what he has to say, so I hope you will update soon:-)I hope it will be something else than the "woe me who nobody loves due to my big nose etc etc etc, I expect a better excuse than that for his cruel words and four years of absence. I do want a happy ending for them, I am just so mad at Severus, I want him to pay the consequence for his words and for leaving her, neither do I want a simpering Hermione who fells into his arms after a sloppy excuse. The fell-into-his-arms should only happen after a reasonable excuse and some payback for the pain he submitted. I want him to know to the bottom of his hearth, if he has one, what kind of pain he inflicted, that his own actions very well could cost him his chance to true happiness. He was and is free to break up with anyone he doesn't want to stay around with, but to make sure to destroy the one he leaves behind is petty, cruel, childish, idiotic, immature, and very, very close to unforgivable.
sheesh, if Hermione doesn't want Severus, send him my way!! and I hope Neville goes after Abby; he needed that talk with Snapey, despite the Slytherin motives involved. thanks for updating!
Oh, this is going to be good! I can't wait to hear what Snape has to say!
Blue Moon Investigations - Maddie and David have magical UK counterparts, no doubt? This is so very much fun! And thank you for not making the engagement anything to do with being a love match - Neville is such a sweet guy, it'd be a shame to break his heart. He's still got 10 months to find this Abby person (Abby Normal, perhaps?), because we know, we simply know (and Hermione ought to share that certainty!) that Severus will win. Jeez, he seems to have learned enough lessons by now, that wonderfully suave Slytherin!Delicious!
I'm surprised that Neville trusts Severus so easily, since Snape was his boggart at Hogwarts. Perhaps Neville is just willing to see the new Severus.Even though Hermione doesn't seem too interested in Severus's confessions, I'm quite eager. Hopefully all of my questions will be answered and Severus should be forgiven. I wonder who will break off the wedding first - Hermione or Neville. Perhaps Abby will appear at the wedding and try to talk some sense into Neville.
Let the begging begin!!! This should be good. Looking forward to reading the next chapter soon.
i loved this chapter, because little cracks in snape's armor are appearing - he was desperate, he hoped and felt pathetic, and then at the end, when he acknowledges that he treated her very badly. but - i don't want to have to WAIT to hear his explanation. i want it NOW. *pouts* oh well, i will go back to trying to wait patiently. and btw, i love his nickname for hermione in this story, and it reminded me that your snapes have a knack for coming up with really sweet nicknames for her and i think that's one of the things that always melts my heart.
Wow, now we're gettin' places. I can't wait for you to update, I really want to know what he has to say.So update, now!gab
I don't know if this was intentional or a typo, but I took it as intentional, so - That line where Snape called the wedding party "our party" was pretty slick. Like he still plans on the wedding happening, but with a 'slight' alteration of a different groom. :)
oh I adore you and this story! *grins* psst it's MistressMalfoy (from that other place lol) I am just writing a wedding scene in Gretna Green when I started to read this story and went uh oh...I just wanted to let you know that mine is a simple binding between Abraxas and Hermione, promise it's nothing like yours *grins* as if I could compare to this brilliance! I love the Parker bit it's very sweet!
Response from Subversa (Author of Across the Anvil)
Thank you! I promise not to tell that you're ... visiting across "state" lines! :)With all of my tendencies to keep Snape in a rather Regency mode, I've never had Gretna Green in a story before. But anyone who's ever read historical romances knows, as you and I do, what a common plot device it has been. Good luck on Abraxas & Hermione's binding - and thank you for the lovely compliment!
