The end of the war should have been a time for happily-ever-afters. For Severus Snape, it was the beginning of the greatest torment of all. He had survived the meddling of a master manipulator and the machinations of a mad megalomaniac, only to find himself subjected to the whims of an annoying know-it-all.

Reviews for Snapewatch
You captured Severus's personality very well. I liked how you explained why he was not calling on Hermione in class.. very good. He is his cranky snarky self and really is an enjoyment to read like this because you never know what words he will fling at someone.
Response from a_bees_buzz (Author of Snapewatch)
Thank you so much! I can't imagine that anything would quell "his cranky snarky self", certainly not a mere set of behavioral rules. And trying to get around them gives him a challenge that helps to pull him out of his funk.
I feel sorry for the man, now can I hope for a romantic relationship between the prisoner (lol) and parole officer (lol x's2)? If not a romantic relationship between them how about a nice lady or something to spark his interest?
Response from a_bees_buzz (Author of Snapewatch)
Of course you can hope, there is always hope. And the parole officer (nicely phrased!) does have his best interests at heart, even if he doesn't see it yet.
Ok, now that I stopped laughing, do you think the poor man thinks he died and went to Hell, or would prefer it?I have to admit I needed the laugh.
Response from a_bees_buzz (Author of Snapewatch)
I'm very happy I could give you a laugh when you needed one. I do think he sees the situation as his own personal hell. Hermione's really not a gentle soul when she's on a mission.
Love the Attitude!
Response from a_bees_buzz (Author of Snapewatch)
I'm glad you love it. Erm. Whose? Hermione's or Severus'? Either way, thanks for the comment.
Response from sinbad (Reviewer)
I should have been more precise, I loved Severus's attitue, very canon like, although afte reading the rest Hermione is well within canon as well, let's face it S.P.E.W. has grown up, oh and I loived the badge. Sorry, this story is so funny even thinking of it is making me smile and being a holiday weekend I need the stress relief!
Response from a_bees_buzz (Author of Snapewatch)
S.P.E.W. grown up is exactly what I was thinking when I came up with the S.S.R.F., though I didn't bother trying to give it a silly acronym. I'm so glad you saw that connection!Sorry that you're having a stressful weekend, holidays can be like that.
another delightfully amusing installment. poor snape, having to deal with harry's being happy to be snarked at by him - and answering questions like an actual teacher! what are you doing to the poor man! i also really liked hermione putting draco in his place.
Response from a_bees_buzz (Author of Snapewatch)
There's a whole backstory in my mind where the Gryffindors saw Draco's failed attempt to rile Snape on the first day and decided to try to show him up by doing it better. So their actions, like Harry's insistence on being happy with the snark and Ron's stirring rod question, are deliberately provocative. Hermione allows it because she thinks it's good for him. I tried to write it in, but it messed up the structure of the story.

Hehehe... Gainful employment, perhaps?” I think that about the Trio sometimes! They just don't seem to do enough work! LOL
Author's Response: This was originally an exchange piece, and the request asked for humor. I took that as an invitation for Severus to snark at will. I'm glad you liked that line.

I just didn’t think he was worth wasting the time on. Hmm. That's a little callous! Bad!Hermione! LOL I'm not entirely sure about Harry and his snogging-fest a few hours after Voldie's death, but otherwise, nice idea for how to save Snape!
Author's Response: It's very common for people to respond to surviving life-and-death situations by getting seriously horny - something about an affirmation of life. With Harry especially, having been buried in this horror for so long, I can imagine him responding to the release of knowing it's over by jumping Ginny. But that's just one possibility.
Bad Hermione, indeed! I don't see how you can interpret them leaving Severus in the shack without even checking his pulse as anything but callous. Of all the characters, it seems to me Hermione would be the first to realise this, and the one who would be most affected by it.
Thanks so much for reviewing.

Oh, this is the first chapter of this I've caught, and it sounds thoroughly interesting! I shall go back and read the first two now.
Author's Response: I have to wonder if the third chapter made any sense without the other two, but I'm very pleased it intrigued you enough to send you back to the beginning.
Angel Mischa's response: I actually picked it up pretty quick. This third chapter would have been a great 'wth?' first chapter to a story, and there were lots of little clues along the way. :-)
Author's Response: I think that may be a characteristic of my writing. Someone once read one of my stories entirely backward without realising it, which I thought was pretty funny.
Angel Mischa's response: ~snerk~ Memento-style. How on earth did they manage that?! LOL
Author's Response: It was a drabble series, so the pieces were designed to stand alone to some degree. The reader (and now I can't remember who it was!) thought it was a deliberate choice to tell the story in reverse, start with the ending and slowly reveal how the characters got there. I tried it that way, and it actually worked - the story was Dinner Plans, if you feel like giving it a try.
Now talk, you pathetic piece of pontificating haberdashery!
LOL! I'm tempted to start batting for the other team now!
Excellent work keeping Ginny in character, btw.
Poked in the eye with aquafresh. It has to be Luuurve.

*giggle* Like when boys pull girls' pigtails in the playground?
I LOVE IT!!! The Severus Snape rehab! That's where I need to go! Third to Longbottom? Please kill me now!hahaha
Response from a_bees_buzz (Author of Snapewatch)
I don't think we'd have any trouble finding volunteers to work there!Sorry, but I won't kill you, unless I do it with laughter. Thanks for the review.
Bloody hell, Potter. I told you to go. Voldemort isn't going to kill himself, you know?" LMFAO I LURVE a snarky man!
Response from a_bees_buzz (Author of Snapewatch)
He is snarky, but wrong. I'm still bemused that at the end Voldie killed himself.
Ah, lovely bonus chapter! And such a graceful answer to all of Hermione's questions. Yay!!!
Response from a_bees_buzz (Author of Snapewatch)
Thank you! Severus, at least this version of him, is subtle, but he does get his point across.

Quite a nice and fitting epilogue of sorts. Thank you! The toothbrush thing is simly great!
Author's Response: Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Good touch pointing out the toothbrush and paste - such a simple little thing is it not but it speaks volumes that he broke with tradition even though he fought with her and adopted her advice. Good way to show that he is listening to her and values what she has to say even if he goes off the deep in when she does express concern for what he is doing (or not doing).
Response from a_bees_buzz (Author of Snapewatch)
I thought he bought the toothbrush for her use, showing he hoped she'd be staying over regularly, but your interpretation works just as well. That's the joy of stories, we can each read them our own ways.Thank you for reviewing.
Best ending...I love it.Especially since I'm listening to Dylan...('Don't Think Twice, It's Alright')
Response from a_bees_buzz (Author of Snapewatch)
Thank you. Though, in that song, doesn't it end badly? The title does fit.
Response from remy (Reviewer)
Unfortunately, it does, lol - I've always liked the rhythm and the ease of the guitar in that song, to me it seemed a great background to Hermione's internal ramblings...(Don't you just love Dylan?)
There ya go, baby! I didn't complain about the last ending but it did feel a bit ambiguous to me. Hermione is such a girl. I love how she was fretting (been there done that). But then she gets the sleep of the righteous.Hurray, great job!Cheers, Kat
Response from a_bees_buzz (Author of Snapewatch)
In this story, Hermione is 19 - she SHOULD be a girl, with all the normal anxieties and insecurities that brings. I think we've all been there, done that. But she's also clever enough to pick up on the little, subtle ways he has of showing her he cares. At least, that was what I was getting at. I'm so glad you liked it, and thank you for reviewing.
Lovely! I liked the story where it ended initially, but this was an equally great way to end it! Subtlety, thy name is Severus with a toothbrush! *cheers*
Response from a_bees_buzz (Author of Snapewatch)
I'm so glad you liked it. I was worried that the people who did like the original ending wouldn't be happy with the add-on.*pictures Severus in armor on a horse bearing a toothbrush*

*insert fan(girl)fare*
Response from a_bees_buzz (Author of Snapewatch)
That's a fan(girl)fare of tootling toothbrushes, right? ;D

Oh, very nice! Both stay in character, which I like. Your writing style is so comfortable to read. Both Severus and Hermione get heard here. Your Beta is to be commended also. Nothing ruins a good story like bad spelling and punctuation. Thank you for sharing!
Response from a_bees_buzz (Author of Snapewatch)
What a lovely review! Thank you for that. And I do have a fantastic beta, for whom I am deeply grateful.
Nice!
Response from a_bees_buzz (Author of Snapewatch)
Thank you. :D
Response from averygoodun (Reviewer)
Btw, this was one of my favorite stories in the exchange. It has such a wicked sense of humor about it.
Response from a_bees_buzz (Author of Snapewatch)
Was it really? I'm so thrilled to hear that. It was an amazing exchange, with so many great stories.
The previous ending felt right, but I don't mind this one at all ;)
Response from a_bees_buzz (Author of Snapewatch)
OH good. I was hoping I wouldn't disappoint those who liked the original ending.
thanks for giving in to your readers and giving us more. i was happy enough with the previous ending, but i'm certainly happy to have more! only hermione would climb out of bed after her first time with a new lover to draw up a chart to figure out how things should go forward. crazy girl. anyway, thanks so much for adding another happy ending to this story.
Response from a_bees_buzz (Author of Snapewatch)
It did seem like a very Hermione response to the situation! I'm so glad you enjoyed it.
Response from kittylefish (Reviewer)
i forgot, i wanted to tell you - i called my boyfriend a naughty bit of baggage! and he was almost as pleased with me as i was with myself! *grins*
Response from a_bees_buzz (Author of Snapewatch)
Nicely done! And what a good boyfriend.
The original ending worked well for me, leaving things up to the reader's imagination - it seemed to suit this story. But this was a lovely glimpse into their newfound relationship.~Kribu
Response from a_bees_buzz (Author of Snapewatch)
I'm glad you didn't think it spoiled the ending. I didn't want to take it any further, just an idea of how those particular versions of the characters could work as a couple.
I love how a toothbrush... A TOOTHBRUSH settles all of her insecurities and questions and planning, if only for the night. You still stomped on my secret heart wish that Severus is a post-coital cuddler. (la-la-la I can't hear you.) Ok, so he got her off. Oh, he did kiss her after. I guess I'll cut him some slack. And I'm pretty sure that instantly dropping into slumber was a defensive measure on his part, knowing her propensity for talking. Especially nervous, awkward talking.Translation: Pokey loves this chapter. Even if it is the last one. (whimper).
Response from a_bees_buzz (Author of Snapewatch)
A toothbrush, a toothbrush, my kingdom for ... no, I don't think that works at all. *snicker*I'm not sure he isn't, actually. It's their first night together, and he's as nervous about what it all means as she is. He turns over and goes to sleep as a way to dodge the awkward post-sex conversation - Hermione would want to talk about their feelings, and he's really not ready for that, so he avoids the situation. As he becomes more comfortable with the relationship, he could turn into a cuddler.I'm so glad that Pokey loves the chapter.
