Reviews for The Uninvited
OH! Good excellent plot device! Truly outstanding! I am so looking forward to future chapters! Reparenting Snape! Brilliant!
I'm going to run out of exclamation points shortly. please update soon!
Extremely moving chapter!I really enjoyed your creative interpretation of Legilimency and I loved the characterization of your two Snapes!
Young Severus had me teary-eyed...
Thanks for sharing!
How does this work? Will she have to tame his troubling memories to work her way towards his current self? And are the two Snapes a schizophrenic split personality (who is and who could have been), or has his mind been possessed? And hence he refuses to wake to prevent the other entity from emerging to the outside world? Interesting and exciting.
Very touching. It really spoke to the feminine nurturing side of me. Perhaps that's why we all love Snape so much, he needed so much love and was denied it over and over. It breaks my heart , because I know people who have lived a childhood like that. It is so sad. I'm very curious as to how this will lead.
Livvy
Well, I'm very curious what else she will find on this trip.
A very nice chapter, you have me hooked. So please update again soon.

SubHub truly has marvellous ideas. I must wonder though why Harry's and Hermione's talk about his killing would bring out his self-loathing. At least, you describe the Assassin as Severus himself, so I imagine he battles himself and his past deeds. But why would the discussion about the battle bring that up? And would he wake up otherwise? Moreover, the story says that he first woke up and had no memory, only later he had become violent. Why, why why? Let's see later on, shall we?
Oooo, very interesting. I look forward to seeing how this story develops. Thank you for writing, and yay to the subHub for such an intriguing idea!
Response from Subversa (Author of The Uninvited)
SubHub is brilliant in matters of plotting, and he has helped me "see" into the mind of Severus Snape. Thanks so much for the support!
Well, I would say that the "Assassin" is actually how Severus views himself in his subconscious. This is assuming that you have remained compliant to the ending of HBP. If this is the case then his subconscious is trying to deal with the misdeeds that he has committed in his life. As he is not mentally strong enough they have manifested in this vision of an assassin.
I conquer with Penelope's assessment of "good luck" Severus is one of the strongest Occulmens known it is quite possible that his mental blocks remain in place even in this split mental state.
What a different path for you to take Dear Subversa, but yet again a wonderful tale. I look forward to more! Irish

What a very thoughtful review my dear - thank you! The story is, indeed, HBP and DH compliant - assuming of course, that you realise that JKR got it wrong about Snape dying in the Shrieking Shack, AND that her epilogue was a stutter of her computer!!
You are right on mark concerning the issues Severus is dealing with, and his mind's method of doing so.
You never spoke a truer word - this is a HUGE departure for me. More to come, soon!
This is interesting.

Thanks, doll. More to come, soon!
The premise of this story reminds me of the movie, The Cell, which is a plot I've always wanted to combine with the world of HP. I wonder if you are taking the story in this direction? Will Hermione enter into his mindscape and encounter various versions of Severus, befriend the child Severus, run from the id Severus, in all his sociopathic glory? I do hope you take it in this direction, as a schizophrenic Snape would be quite a challenge to write. But, whether or not that is your intention, be assured I will be here every step of the way, enjoying your writing talents and gifts as you weave a world where Snape is central to everything, and Hermione is his destined match. Oh, and the lemons are great too! All Hail Subversa!
Response from Subversa (Author of The Uninvited)
I vaguely remember seeing The Cell, but I don't think SubHub ever did, and this plot is completely of his devising. I don't know that I would go so far as to characterize this as Schizophrenic!Snape, but he is definitely disturbed in his mind. Thanks for the note, doll!
*snickers* That's a great parting shot from Penny.
I'm looking forward to seeing this continue. I think you have a great start here and I am most interested in seeing where you take the visions, if they are real or imagined.
Response from Subversa (Author of The Uninvited)
"That's a great parting shot from Penny."
Thank you! I thought so, too - was quite proud of that line. We'll have another chapter up, soon.
I'm completely hooked on this story. I just can't wait to see how everything develops.
Response from Subversa (Author of The Uninvited)
Thanks, Emmeline! More to come, soon.
i am intrigued. the assassin does bear quite a resemblance to a certain potions master, doesn't he? disturbed!severus is sad and, well, disturbing. but i know that (unlike certain other brilliant writers who shall remain nameless) you can be trusted to get him out of whatever pickle you put him in. i look forward to discovering how you will do that.
Response from Subversa (Author of The Uninvited)
Yes, the Assassin with his hooked nose, stringy hair, and yellow teeth is quite similar to Headmaster Snape. I completely agree with you that disturbed!Severus is *very* sad, I grant you.
You know me well, Miss Kitty - I love him too much to leave him in a bad place.
Ooh! I like this! I hope you write more!!
Response from Subversa (Author of The Uninvited)
Hi, Christine! The story is complete, so I'll update regularly until we are done!
‘Well, good luck with that, then.’
Indeed! This is sad—what happened to Snape, but it is a unique and intriguing spin on how he survives Nagini's attack. I can't wait to read more.
Response from Subversa (Author of The Uninvited)
*grins* You picked out my favourite line! I can't help but love words like "unique" and "intriguing," my dear. More to come, soon!
Wow, this is awesome...who is Severus seeing; himself?????
Response from Subversa (Author of The Uninvited)
Hey, you! That's the question, isn't it? More to come, which I think will answer your question, in chapter-the-next!
Interesting. What will Hermione find, I wonder?
Response from Subversa (Author of The Uninvited)
...and I really don't know that I would envy her the job of looking ...
Argh.......I completely missed this during the exchange but then I missed loads, looking forward to rest days so that I can catch up with things whilst Jade is at school.
Just to let you know, as always you have me hooked.

Response from Subversa (Author of The Uninvited)
Thanks, darlin! And you know this story is complete, so no waiting for the writing to be done ...
oooo, intriguing! Poor crazy!Snape (or maybe he'll turn out to be notsocrazy!Snape). I look forward to more, especially concerning that Vita Donum Charm! :)
Response from Subversa (Author of The Uninvited)
Thanks, Sporky! At the very least, we can call him disturbed!Snape. And there will be more about the Charm in chapters to come ;)
Loved it! Totally worth making my lil' guy late for afternoon preschool!
Gotta run...but will be looking for updates!
Response from Subversa (Author of The Uninvited)
Thanks for the note, hon - will be updating weekly. :D
I wonder if she is being a little optimistic??
oh my, that was tense!
woohoo, Castle Anthrax makes an appearance LOL!
two Severuses ( or should that be Severi?), guess the first one was too good to be true!
I think you did a fine job with Hermione's travel with Snape to revisit his worst memories. And I'm never one to turn down a happy ending.
