A little light reading and a chance comment lead Hermione to discover that Snape has nowhere to spend Christmas. But is dragging him home for the holidays really a good idea? (A WIKTT Christmas 2003 challenge fic; AU w/HBP & DH)

Reviews for The First Faint Glimmer
Oh, she is a deeply caring and selfless soul. Who now get to figure out a way to ask Snape over for Christmas! I like the beginning.
Very mature of her - her little speach. I loved that he simply kissed her, then completely misread her stunned silence. good thing she talked so sense in him. I think?
I loved the sensible approach Hermione's mother had. I doubt if I could have done that but I still loved her style.
He is starting to be part of the traditions. I'd give anything ot hear him sing. ahhhh. So mum is starting to see what is developing between them. cool - or maybe not.
Love the update.
No lemons? Bit of sneaking around Hogwarts wouldn't hurt would it hehe,
Look forward to more.

*grins* no… wouldn't hurt… but I have little confidence in my ability to write a decent lemon. *^_^*
Response from Nessa (Reviewer)
I'm perfectly sure you have the ability, I mean look at what you have wrote so far.
Caught in bed - fully dressed of course - but still in bed! LOL delicious!
It really seems like she is getting to him finally - really slipping in under the walls. Whoot!
I was wondering if i'd like this so much with romance, but i love Amelia's wise advice. It reminds me of conversations I've had with my own daughter. Thank you for the updates! it's a lovely bedtime story.

^_^ Much of what Amelia says comes from conversations - monologues? - I had with my mother when I was about to head off to college. Though if I had been getting involved with a teacher back then, she would've been out for blood. ^_^;
well, Severus is certainly going to change a LOT - after Voldy is dead and he no longer has to be a double-agent, and if he leaves Hogwarts for another job that is less stressful. but I still see them growing together, more than Ron who never grew up. thanks for the new chapter!
Response from Ladymage Samiko (Author of The First Faint Glimmer)
Precisely. Snape was the most 3-D character in the entire series - and so the most dynamic. Ron had the potential, being a chess fan, to become the 'general', the one who thinks five steps ahead, but JKR shortchanged him severely, plunking him down firmly in 'faithful sidekick' archetype. -_-;
Hmmm. No intercourse doesn't mean no fumbling in the dark, thought, right???I love this. Can't wait for the next installment!
Love it!I can't wait for more!xo.
Kissing is good. A lot can be accomplished with kissing...
What a wonderful chapter! I can't help but think things will get more complicated for them, but for now it was nice to see them both happy.
strong chapter!
Oh, that was wonderful! I had to catch up on a few chapters from the last time I reviewed, but I loved every single one. I'm glad to see that this fic has an ending somewhere in sight. I can't wait to see how this continues to developes.
Oh, how scary... It's the old tale: children who have been abused have a strong tendency to abuse others when they are adults. But on the other hand, realisation is the first step towards improvement. Loved that chapter. Thank you!
I found this chapter very hopeful...things will improve and perhaps that is what I like best about it.
I say thank God for AU. I never did like the ending J.K.R. gave Severus.
Severus made some good points, his miserable childhood certainly affected his outcome. But, as usual, he downplays his good points. Hopefully he will like himself better soon. Until he likes himself, how can he forgive himself or love another?
Woow that was some speech by Severus, I can't wait to see what Hermione has to say to that, but I think It's not going to change how Hermione feels. I hope Severus excepts that and he and Hermione will make it work. But things are never easy for them two are they? x
It almost sounds like he is planning on walking away, at least for a little while. Another excellent chapter.
Good old Hermione, tells it like it is!
interesting and powerful.
In a few short hours Hermione not only loses her temper and yells at Snape, but he comforts her from a nightmare... Life is getting a bit more interesting. Wonder what her 'memories' were about, Department of Mysteries maybe? Looking forward to the next!
Thank you for the update!! I'm really enjoying this story - it's wonderful.
