very sweet story.  every now and then it's nice to get away from all the angst and drama.  that was a delight.

real cute Sev and Hermione without all the baggage - lol. I was skimming for some shorts to kill a little bit of time I have and saw this in the new stories section - a nice little pick-me-up kinda thing, really enjoyed it.

It seems to me to be a story about doors.Severus' thoughtfulness opens a door for Hermione's employment.  Hermione's thoughtfulness opens a door for her friendship with Severus.  Ron's thoughtlessness closes a door on his former relationship with Hermione.  And you started the story with a view through an open door - a boundary that should not have been breached and was, to the detriment of that relationship.It is astounding the effect being thoughtful or thoughtless of one another can have on our relationships.  A good lesson.  And it doesn't really matter what is in the gift as it is the thought that counts.Beautifully and economically written.  Thank you very much.

I love Severus when he's surprised and flustered. Of course I love him when he's snarky and terrifying. and even when he is a right bastard *sigh* Very cute one shot.
