Severus you deserved that, surely he must have read something about pregnancy symptoms, he is lucky to have gotten off so lightly, he might as well poke a bear with a stick. Hermione, never say never.

Yes Severus, I'm sure that the books will keep her out of your hair, as I am sure every man that has lived with a pregnant woman will tell you, it's a doddle.

Typical Ron, blaming everyone and everything except himself , for his behaviour. Now that all the preliminarys are over, we can now start the main event, seconds out, round one begin.

I do wonder just what Severus is planing on doing with the child when it arrives, take it from one who knows, they don't just sit where you put them, and make not a sound.

A very sad begining, Harry locked in a pensive with Voldermort forever *shudder *. All the men seem to conspicuous by their absence, and the women are selling renting themselves out, to make both ends meet. Things can only get better from here.

Tea! they are going after HarryI must say it's about bloody time. How long has he been locked up in that pensive, with only Voldermort for company.

Oh dear, I hope we see some light at the end of the tunnel soon, it's getting awfully dark in here.

At first I really thought, a Surrogate Fanfiction, how can this be a good story? But measuring against the reviews you received I told myself I can have a look at it. I`m glad I did it. You wrote a wonderful story, you let their Relationship grow in a way that was really consistent. Truly, someone could think Hermione Granger would never do such things, anyway in which situation she is. But I think the circumstances you've created are reasonable and people did very much more weird things to get money.

Are people really doing the math?!  LOL.  It's just so variable anyway that for some babies 36 weeks is completely adequate and others do well at 42 weeks despite the mother probably feeling a bit insane at that point.

I have to say, and I mean this with no disrespect, I put off reading this tale for some time because I've found a certain distaste in my mind in regards to the surrogate stories.

HOWEVER, this was approached with the characters intact, a very believable premise regarding what would lead either to such a decision, and it was handles with taste and aplomb.

I love the Empathy Charm, and I wish us lowly muggles could actually do something like that sometimes. My ex and my husband would have been right beside me puking their guts out. LOL.

Nicely written, believably laid out, and not rushed, while also not drawn out for the sake of word count.

I've just spent almost five hours reading this again for the third time (I think) and it was great!! Again... I just love challenge fics!
Really a wonderful piece of work!

To Beget an Heir is a marvelous, lovely, and loving story of the growth of the relationship between Severus and Hermione.  Their initial reason for coming together has been replaced by a marriage and a family!  Thank you for writing and sharing your tale about love and the salvation of two lonely souls who turn out to be perfect for each other.Harry and Ginny are married and having a baby, and Ron has done what he does best – leave when things don't go the way he wants them to.I loved every single chapter!Beth

What a hot chapter!  I swear, those two love birds know how to have a discussion about competing points of view.  I was thoroughly delighted when Hermione reassured Severus that she was sincere when she told him that she loved him the first time.  His declaration of his love for her made my heart sing.


Even though Severus thought that Hermine's plan was both dangerous and unlikely to work, he loves her so much that he insisted that he would go with her to the Ministry and help her to draw Harry's soul from the Pensieve and bind it to his body.

For a minute there, I thought Neville had botched the whole plan, but luckily Hermione was able to salvage the situation and keep Severus from tormenting the hapless Herbology professor lest he say more than he should have.

And now Harry is waking up!  Woohoo!

I like that Severus is very careful to reassure Hermione of his desire for them to be together always, and they have had some time to discuss some things important to their long term plans.

Hermione's dreams have always been about solutions to problems, and this latest one was no exception.  Now she knows how to help Harry!!!

"Not just a Charm, Hermione," Dream!Harry had told her.  I wonder... could the base for this dream potion be mother's milk?  Just as it gave her daughter the strength to survive, could it also enable Harry to return from the Pensieve... sans Voldemort?

I have to go find out what happens next!

Ahhhhh...  What a satisfying chapter!  Severus loves Hermione and their child is out of danger.  He has declared to Medibitch Munch that he, Hermione, and their daughter are a F.A.M.I.L.Y.

And I hope Severus got the old, evil biddy fired.  Or put on the bed pan detail.

How utterly sad this has been.  Gladys is such a bad Mediwitch that she should not be allowed near the obstetrics ward.

I'm glad that the baby girl is doing so well for such a premature birth, and Lavender was very kind to Hermione, much nicer than either of the Munch Medibitches.

I know it had to be like swallowing razor blades for Hermione to talk with Hazel about the fulfillment of the contract she had signed.

And where is Severus?  I pray he is on his way to Ginny's.  Hermione needs him now... please let him be on his way to Grimmauld Place.

You really know how to write angst!

OMG!  You have take me from one end of the emotional spectrum to the other, from Severus catching Hermione about to take a bath, to Hermione casting an Empathy Charm on Severus, to them bathing together, to their making beautiful love, to her water breaking... is the baby about to be born?  Or is there another fearful complication?  OMG!  Please let everything be all right.
