Sometimes life can be a fairy tale. Hermione is an overworked, under appreciated Apprentice Healer who starts dreaming about a Prince at a series of masquerade balls. The odd thing is, he's having the same dreams.

I am really loving this story. I like the fairy godmother angle, and I like the characters' resistance to the whole fated dream lover stuff. But I have to tell you, every time I read the title of the story, I remember a story about my mom and dad. At a party they were exchanging witticisms with their friends (and they were both extremely witty people) when someone brought up a recent Spoonerism that some public speaker had made. Not everyone knew what a Spoonerism was, so it was duly explained (Spooner was a man, a preacher, who was prone to switching initial consonants within phrases) and examples given, and pretty soon they were trying to outdo one another Spoonerizing familiar phrases, "Boo tee or not boo tee," but my mother closed the conversation (remember this was in the 50s when ladies just didn't say such things) with "If the shoe fits--" Spoonered, of course. I am nearly incapable of reading the title some other way than if the foo... well, you get it.
UHOH!!! Severus has the locket. If he looks at it long enough, he'll know who Hermione is. The fact that she told him she works at St. Mungo's, and has the initials HJG, it won't take him long to figure out his dream woman. I wonder what his reaction will be when he discovers that.
I'm really enjoying this story! Keep posting, please.
Ooooo... I so like this story!! hehe More?
I love all the disney song chapter refrences!
another chapter pwease??? *puppy eyes*
Wow, I bet Severus has a burr up his backside now. I can't wait until he finds out who the mystery woman is. Great chapter, if you were aiming for a grown up version of the fairy tale you hit it right on the button.
Ever since the first dream of the ball I was waiting for the real thing and you didn't let me down! Can't wait for the next installment!
So it begins. I can only assume Hermione will not put forth her real name when she owls him. But you would think he could figure it out a little better since he knows she works at St. Mungo's etc. I'm looking forward to your next update!
Wow I love your fic. I've spotted it when you first posted it but I haven't much time to read at the moment. So I just read the 5 chapters in one shot and I long for the next cause it's really brilliant. I just have one question : what was the prompt of the challenge ?
Loved it - I am so glad that I came accross this story. It was great how that they got together. Great job and good love story.
Oh - he came to find her and did not turn her away but instead he kissed her - her boss is really out to get her is she not???? I cannot wait to read the last chapter.
Severus almost was on the verge of cursing her - good way to write it. I loved the whole she is still tearing out of the ballroom even though this one is not a dream. Good work.
I loved the old lady - she is such an interesting original character. I loved the whole twist of the rarity of having the charm used. It was unique. I think Severus will show up at this one because he will want to see if she is real.
Oh man - what a chapter - the scene on the balcony and then she passes out - this cannot be good. It is the lady in the coma causing this is it not?
Interesting -they both dreamed it up out of the blue - what crafty magic you have working here. The letter - oh Severus is in so much trouble - is he not??? I cannot wait to see what happens next.
Interesting - just like Cinderella and the Prince in this story is the Half Blood Prince. I loved it - he makes it a point not to socialize with former students so he is missing out is he not?
Great chapter.
Good first chapter - the hospital apprenticeship sounds utterly horrible and then the throw in of the second job just goes to show you how much she is struggling - great work.
Oh, wow. This is such an amazing story. I am so glad I was privileged enough to find such a gem. I didn't even mean to! I had actually clicked on the 'random story' button because I was bored, and I got a few stories before this one, a couple of which I had already read. . . and then I came to this one. The title is what ultimately sucked me in, but I was caught after the first couple of paragraphs. I am completely serious when I say that you are one of the most amazingest writers I have ever had the utmost pleasure of reading a story by. This story just strikes so close. . . I like to think of myself as an independant woman, too, but deep down, where I put things I don't want to acknowledge, there's a yearning for someone to protect me, to stand by me when things get rough, to build me up when I'm feeling down. . . and I don't have one yet. I really wish I did. Anyway, enough rambling! This is a really terrific story, and I am truly blessed to have read it. Thank you.~Katie
I just discovered this because of the wonderful artfic you received. I love it. What a sweet, wonderful fairy tale! (And I thought I was the only person who remembered The Happiest Millionaire!)
