Bah, can't look at art on my phone cause it won't copy text to make links.. Grr. I'll have to try to remember to look at out later on a desktop.
Well, so far I really like your story, I'm a sucker for him getting a happily ever after in one form or another.

I never received notification for your (and others') feedback so apologies for the dreadfully late reply. I, too, like Snape to find happiness or at least peace and contentment. I'm glad you enjoyed at least part of it; thank you for commenting.
Is there a sequel to this story? I'd love to see how Severus and Hermione continue their relationship!
Response from odogoddess (Author of And So It Comes To This)
No, there is not. I never know what the Muse will bless me with, though, so there may be one some day. Thank you for commenting!
Wow... that was very intense! I really liked the cover story that Hermione came up with, but I do hope that she did remember to construct the "old photos" and such that she referred to that "led" her mum to inquire after Severus. At first, I was horrified at him having to have all knowledge of magic obliviated from his mind, but thinking about it now, this probably was the very best outcome for him... no more guilt and pain about having to murder Dumbledore, no more guilt and angst about Lily's death, no more self-hatred because of his bad choices in his youth and young adulthood. And I really liked how they looked at each other at the end. :)

Thank you for taking time to comment. I'm glad you enjoyed the end, and the story's intensity. Some people find it too intense, but then I've always loved hurt/comfort and you can't have comfort without hurt first. Thanks again!
I loved your story, so that I would really love to read some more. Have you ever tought about writing a sequel? My head is spinning with all the possibilities!
Response from odogoddess (Author of And So It Comes To This)
Thank you for your comments. No, there is no sequel, but it is one of the fics I receive regular requests or inquiries about a sequel to, so that's an honour in a way. :) I'm really very busy, though, with other fics. I tend to write whenever the Muse blesses me, and since I write both het and slash fics, I never know what she's going to bless me with next. Hopefully, she might choose to bless me with a sequel for this story one day.

That made me want to cry so much. I absolutely loved it and the artwork at the end was amazing. I love art that is that intense, it makes for a better story.

Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
That was a brilliant ending. Even though Severus is stripped of his magic and all his adult memories, at least he gets to live his life as a free man, and ofcourse with a wonderful woman with him!
Response from odogoddess (Author of And So It Comes To This)
I'm glad you enjoyed the story, especially the ending. I appreciate you taking time to comment.
I still can't get over the despicable way the Ministry is treating Severus, and not even giving him a chance for a retrial. The pensieve moments are wonderful, a way for Severus to escape for a few moments from his terrible reality.
Response from odogoddess (Author of And So It Comes To This)
I'm glad you enjoyed this section. Thanks for commenting.
That must have hurt his pride inceredibly to ask for that memory, and foe a whore to not even be willing to cooperate...What a terrible way for the wizarding world to treat an unsung hero.
Response from odogoddess (Author of And So It Comes To This)
I agree.
Well - it hurt to see Severus turned into a muggle since he had done so much and sacrificed so much for the order. It was good though that Hermione brought him home and wanted to continue with him... good chapter
Response from odogoddess (Author of And So It Comes To This)
Severus was given the choice and was a strong enough man to deal with it-- remain in jail for life, or have freedom. The cost was magic, but in exchange he can live out from under the thumb of the judgmental Wizarding world and Ministry and with a person who loves for him. I can't say I blame him for his choice. :) I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thank you for commenting.
The memories that she provided Severus were steamy and I am glad he asked her if she would do the real thing with him. The ministry is giving him such a raw deal - I hope that some other way can be found.
Response from odogoddess (Author of And So It Comes To This)
You have rather more faith in the ministry than I do. Thank you for commenting.
Such a sad chapter - poor Severus is in such a bad condition and his pride must almost be broken from what he has had to endure. I am shocked he asked for a memory but it makes it even more sad that he is reduced to this state
Response from odogoddess (Author of And So It Comes To This)
Thank you for commenting. I'm glad you find the angst moving.
This story has haunted me. The first time I read it, I left it feeling saddened and a little disturbed. The second time, I thought that it was brilliant, but the thought of Severus without magic just broke my heart. For some reason I keep wanting to come back and read it again.
I think it's highly creative and heart wrenching . What a punishment - to live your life without your memories. I think you've done a wonderful job of displaying what life in Azkaban could really be like. I also think you've done a great job with Hermione. You've really captured her nature by making her willing to go to any means for her cause. Well done. It's a beautiful piece.Response from odogoddess (Author of And So It Comes To This)
Thank you. I am pleased that you find it worth re-reading, and that it continues to resonate despite knowing how it ends.
There is a phrase I use sometimes -- happy or hopeful ending. I like happy endings as much as anyone else, but sometimes for a story to be true to life, which is both bitter and sweet, and not come across as contrived or saccharine, I provide the characters as hopeful, if not happy, a resolution as is possible.
I know a lot of readers would prefer an upbeat magical solution whereby Severus retains his memories and lives in the wizarding world, but it just was not possible without the story becoming hopelessly strained and artificial. So I went with hopeful, giving them both a chance for future happiness, even if it was different than either might have expected.
Thank you again for taking time to comment. I'm glad you find the story moving.

Because it was still haunting me, I decided to draw it out. Here's my version of Severus looking at Hermione in the Pensieve

/images/pensieve_sshg.jpg" alt="" /> It looks better larger, but this site only supports 300 x 300. Thanks again for the great story!
Amazing story, and actually quite realistic. Snape is very in character, as is Hermione. Thanks ver much for writing :o)Have a good one,Sue.P.S. Odella's artwork is AMAZING. I can't describe any other way.

What a beautiful but complex story!I am happy that Severus whas the opportunity for a happy life but I feel saddened by the Severus before the memory loss. As if he is separate and therefore alone.Catharine

I'm glad you enjoyed the complexity. Thank you for commenting.
Aww! Already finished? This piece deserves a SEQUAL... *wink, wink, nudge, nudge* Great work!
Response from odogoddess (Author of And So It Comes To This)
Thank you. Re: a sequel, I never know what inspiration the Muse will bless me with. We'll have to wait and see, but considering my backlog of fic, I doubt a sequel would come anytime soon, or even within the next couple of years.
Sad, and yet promising. Excellant.
Response from odogoddess (Author of And So It Comes To This)
Thank you.
I love this story, especially the way the 'happy ending' is tinged with sadness - far more believable and moving. In fact I think the sadness of the ending possibly outweighs the happiness because it just seems so incredibly unfair that his memories have been taken from him. But as I said before, the injustice of his treatment is, sadly, realistic. It was also incredibly well-written (in the humble opinion of a first year English Literature student!)
Response from odogoddess (Author of And So It Comes To This)
Thank you. I do prefer realism in most of my fics, so I'm pleased to hear you found it believable. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I hope you enjoy my other works as they are released here.
A most interesting story. I'm glad Severus finally got a chance at a normal life, even at the cost of his magic and memories.

I love the ending!!! (Well, the whoke story, actually. Though after so much despair, a happy ending is so nice) :-)
Response from odogoddess (Author of And So It Comes To This)
Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
A very moving story. I especially liked the ending. The art for the piece is better than anything I could have imagined in my head. I'm only sorry this story is over.
Response from odogoddess (Author of And So It Comes To This)
Thank you. I'm glad you liked it, and the ending.
My goodness that was wonderful. You portrayed life in all its truth - good and bad. Thank you for creating this.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thank you for your feedback.
I'll admit now I did skip over and read this fic on another site because I was too impatient to know the ending. Oddly enough I didn't find it as much of a downer as it might have been, the key being Severus' own observation at the end that he's among people who care what becomes of him. On the other hand, it's hard not to fantasize about a sequel in which he somehow stumbles back onto his memories. Anyway, this ended up being a lot more complicated emotionally than I thought it would be, which was a big strength.
Response from odogoddess (Author of And So It Comes To This)
Thank you, I'm glad you appreciated the emotional complexity. It's gratifying to hear you enjoyed it enough to actively seek out the rest. Re: a sequel, I never know what inspiration the Muse will bless me with, but I wouldn't necessarily rule one out entirely. Given how many fic commitments I currently have on the bubble, though, it's doubtful one would even get started for at least a couple of years. *rueful expression* We'll have to wait and see.
I really liked this. Even without magic SS gets a chance of a new life without the bad. Even if he innocent he can't forget what's happened and here he gets that chance well done
Response from odogoddess (Author of And So It Comes To This)
Thank you, I'm glad you liked it.
Great job!! I'll be waiting for your next fic, assuming that you will write more.
Response from odogoddess (Author of And So It Comes To This)
Thank you. *considers the 40+ fics she wrote last year* Yeah, I think that's a safe bet. ;)
Quite a promising start :) Looking forward to the rest!
Response from odogoddess (Author of And So It Comes To This)
I'm glad you've enjoyed it so far. The third and final section should be up within a few days. Thank you for commenting.
