Very subtly written. It's impressive how erotic the Pensieve episodes manage to be in the middle of the brutal reality that is also very vividly portrayed.

I like how thorough you've been with describing the deprivation and degredation that Snape is suffering in Azkaban. I wonder how Hermione will convince Snape to let her help him. I'm looking forward to reading the next chapter.

I remember reading this on AFF. (I go there when I'm bored.) It was a very compelling story to read. I was horrified by the treatment that he got while he was in prison, but I wasn't surprised by it. (The fact that I wasn't surprised is saddening in itself.) I thought the ending was bittersweet, since he got what he deserved, yet had to lose something to get it.

When I read, I like the sense of going on a journey, and I try to do that with most, if not all, of my writing. Hi;Livvy cited this story in her new SS/HG piece, so I checked it out. I really liked it. Sad, but not maudlin. It is maybe hopeful, but that is not the adjective I would use to descripe the ending unfortunately, nothing better comes to mind. I have been to your web page and didn't know you posted at TPP. Your writing is complex but highly readable. I like that what you have written is not pat or what I have come to expect in the ship. It is challenging to read from a narrative standpoint as it is disturbing yet feels real. I think that many prisoners have experienced what Severus has experienced and that makes me profoundly sad for people suffering everywhere.
