I am always a fan of Hermione coming back as a ghost if she absolutely must die. (I identify with her way, way too much...nose in the books, a bit of a know-it-all.)

Very sad. As a mother, there is nothing that would stop me from comforting my child, even as a ghost. I can't even imagine the torture Hermione would feel at this. And Severus having to deal with so many things on his own, things he has no experience in, or likely any idea about.
