Reviews for Something Like Love
This fic should really have more reviews than it does! I have read it more than once now and have enjoyed it immensely each time. :)
Oh, and she never really decides she wants the child; this is just a world where parenting is forced on people, and that turns my stomach. It's not romantic; it's not erotic. It's just frightening.
It's nice that Snape cares enough to talk Hermione out of being a workaholic, but I can't like this story because it justifies a situation where a woman doesn't have a choice about a pregnancy. Plus it's out of character for Hermione not to know about the potion/pill interaction, especially if it's "widely documented." Sorry.
I liked it! I really liked it!I used to read ss/hg excusively for some time and then wandered away from the pairing. When I came back, I had the hardest time finding a fic that was good, instead of some pointless fic where Hermione and Snape found tru lurv and hot sex along the way.I love Hermione's selfishness, and Snape's refusal to back down, and especially this line: "No, you fucking bitch!" Thanks for writing.

Thank you so much. We're thrilled that you liked it.I think this fic was about realism, and being truthful and it's a relief that it came across that way.I think that Hermione, yes, has a lot of potential to head down selfish lane, given the right circumstances. Thanks for reading and for a wonderful review.~Neit
very good, wish it was longer

Thank you very much. The fic was written as a one-shot for the SSHG fic exchange, and we wanted it to be complete for the recipient.~Neit
Very good; I enjoyed it. I liked your characterization-Snape was not 'soft' and I can picture Hermione as a workaholic! You set up the plot quite nicely, but I would have liked to see a bit more about how their relationship developed. Thanks for a good read.

I am glad you enjoyed it. I don't think Snape is all that sappy and part of why I like Hermione is that I think she could give as much as she gets. I doubt there will be more but I am guessing it was pretty funny from the fly on the wall view~Neit
That was frustrating but great. Frustrating to see Hermione turn into that piece of work(literally) and to see her become so selfish, but greatly written and ultimately enjoyable. Thanks!

With a lot of people they don't notice how they have changed until it's in their face. Hermione already shows a lot of selfish tendecies that under the right elements could take over~Isis
I have a theroy that if you put any 2 people and make them get married that it can work out if both compromise.
your story is what i ment by that statement, and now when i'm having this debate with my devorced mum i can point her in this direction, ;)
I am also pro life and love the idea of having the father's choice. its all well and good for the mother to say my body and all that, but what of the father, what about his choice. I really like that idea!
a great story!!!
Response from Isis and Neit (Author of Something Like Love)
I think the key is that both have to be willing to compromise. If that is not the case it's also a reicepe for disaster. I am actually pro choice but I do think that Fathers have a right in the decision.~Neit
You made it easy to see Hermione becoming a workahollic ... and losing some of her "nicer" personality traits in the process.? It does seem to happen that way.? Hadn't thought of Severus as a stay-at-home dad, but not having to interact with the dunderheads would probably allow his better side to come out.? All in all, I liked your story very much, esp. as I'm a happy ending junkie.? Wouldn't mind hearing about them actually falling in love after all this.? Perhaps you'll tell us?? Thanks for the work.
Response from Isis and Neit (Author of Something Like Love)
I am a happy ending junkie too. So while they had a really rocky start I think they turned out ok.~Isis
Fuck (yes, that’s what had gotten her into this situation). Mm-hmm.
There were so many good lines, like the one above (but that one pretty much summed it all up). I wish I could list them all, but it's impossible. But what I loved the best about this story was that Snape didn't just swallow the crap that he was dished ( "You fucking bastard," she shouted... "No, you fucking bitch!" ); he gave it right back to her. I have to say, usually I see Hermione dishing it out and Snape taking it, or Snape dishing it out and Hermione retaliating. But this was new, a fresh take on the give-and-take between the two.
All-in-all, this was a wonderful story and a must-read. Thank you!

Thanks so much. The dialouge in this story really wrote itself and I can't see either of them taking much gauff from the other. ~Neit
Oooh, I liked this very much. :)
