I picked up the Harry Potter fandom around the time the first movie came out and began writing fanfic early 2005 after discovering the adult online community. I identify most closely with the Slytherins and you will see my taste in writing lends me to writing about Slytherins more often than not. In addition to fanfiction, I also make fanvids on the Harry Potter fandom. I'm a Perfect Imagination acredited beta and am willing to help authors. My main 'ship interests are Snape/OC (never really got into the SS/HG pairing) and LM/any female (with HG as a new favorite). I have dabbled in RL/OC and RL/NT and am okay with those pairings. I generally shy away from slash, just not my thing. For updates on my writing, check out my Live Journal

Excellent!
I'm actually curious of the potion that Lucius used. It just links them together, so she'd receive erotic dreams of him, right? I really hope that it didn't influence her besides the erotic dreams to make her want him... Does Hermione ever find out about the bottle of lotion and where more can be purchased? Does Lucius ever tell Hermione in the future about the lotion and its properties (maybe not now, but when they're all old and elderly)?
I do find it despicable that Draco planned it so Hermione won't get pregnant, especially since he knows how much Hermione wanted a child. Couldn't he have given her a child and kept his mistress anyways? After all, Phaedra married Lucius anyways...
I wonder what the Prophet said about them. I wonder what the statement Lucius put out? It was of the partial truth and that Draco cheated with Phaedra, and got caught, and disowned? Correct or was it something else?
Great story! =)
Great job!! Loved the way you ended it! Wonderful story. ~Jen

Thank you. :D Finding the right place to end a story is always difficult. I'm so glad you liked this ending. It's especially hard in a preplanned series.

Again, lovely chapter. You do a fabulous job at displaying the numerous emotions in this story. I feel the characters really come alive...corny, I know. Anyway, good job!~Jen

Thank you. That is the ultimate praise. I know that showing emotions for characters can be hard because different folks see them differently. I'm so glad these characters seem real to you.

And so Lucius's plan starts to unfold...great chapter! Love the story so far! ~Jen

Thanks. :D I really do think he would be the type to really scheme something out. He showed so much of that in the books, and it's nice to use it for something positive.

Interesting development! I love the idea with the lotion! Very creative! Wonderful job (as always). ~Jen
Very nice. I like how you didn't have Hermione accept his apology right away and you did a wonderful job on the emotions of the characters. ~Jen
Response from phoenix (Author of The Price of Glory)
Thanks. I definitely think that Hermione would not just blindly accept whatever he has to tell her. This is a very angsty/emotional piece and I'm glad that it came off well. :)

Aww...poor Hermione! I feel bad for her, but I also kind of think things are going to work out for the best with her and Lucius. I guess I'll have to read on and see. Great job!~Jen

It was a pretty good story. Hermoine not really questioning the lotion bugs me though.
Response from phoenix (Author of The Price of Glory)
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it despite that omission. I guess the thing to remember is that Hermione was raised Muggle, so she may not 100% think like someone raised in a magical family. and when your entire life has been turned upside down, well, sometimes your brain doesn't work right. That's about the only defense I have for that decision.
Great story… I have really enjoyed it; although, I was waiting for complications to arise due to the link caused by the lotion. I’m glad that it turned out to simply be the device Lucius used to remind her how much she needed and desired him. It was also the catalyst allowing Hermione to bring Ginny and then Harry into her confidence. I felt that she could have justified herself more to Harry when he commented that Lucius disowned Draco for having an affair and all the while she and Lucius were having an affair as well. She should have pointed out that Draco had been denying her affection and love while having an affair for years, which caused Lucius to try to ensure that her emotional needs were met, leading to their inevitable affair. I say inevitable, as Lucius’ declaration to Hermione at the end of the story, in which he confessed that he picked her out for Draco because she was exactly whom he would have chosen for himself to marry, which, by the way, is a gesture of love towards Draco. I loved Harry forbidding her to go to Lucius and then going to threaten Lucius, trying to ensure that she not be taken advantage of again. I do believe that Lucius loves her, despite that he may have used some Slytherin tactics to win her… that is who he is and who she has decided to love… for better or worse! (Please don’t come out with some kind of twist in the next part to this story proving this theory wrong! I really like this Lucius who loves Hermione and wants a large family with her. Thanks!
Response from phoenix (Author of The Price of Glory)
I figured Hermione had been through enough, and of course Lucius is very interested in having an heir, so he would be very sure that the lotion would not harm mother or child. :D
As for the more explanation, I decided not to get too in depth in that whole saga. Since they were facts we were aware of, i didn't want to get into too much exposition. As she becomes more comfortable with how things have played out, she'll surely bring them more into her confidence.
Harry, I love his protective big brother side. It is so much fun to play with and I did find a perfect way to use it. :)
And yes, Lucius does love her; he just has a very odd way of showing it. This is a very foreign emotion to him, growing up in a society where blood is everything and that you marry the right girl to all of the sudden realizing that it really isn't and living through that societal shift. :)
I think I said it before, but I hope to start work on the final installment soon. :D And thank you again for the wonderful review.
Lucius is gauging his responses well... when will Hermione give in to him?I am enjoying this series, it is definitely something a bit different, as I primarily read Hermione/Severus; however, I must say that I am enjoying Lucius!
Response from phoenix (Author of The Price of Glory)
Ah, Lucius, I had to try so hard not to make this his story. LOL I find him so much fun to write for as I have a very Slytherin mind.
And I'm glad you enjoy this despite it not being your favored pairing. I think it's nice to try something new now and then. :D
You have done a great job... Hermione reacted just as I expected her to.I wonder what she'll do and I wonder if Draco's new wife will stay with him now that he isn't receiving his inheritence etc.
Response from phoenix (Author of The Price of Glory)
Hermione's reaction was one of the best parts of writing this story. I can only imagine how it would feel to get stuck in that sort of web and I'm thankful I'm not. LOL
As for Draco, he gets the last installment of the trilogy. :)
Yippee another happy LM/HG fic... I love this couple but then I have a thing for Slytherin bad boys.
Response from phoenix (Author of The Price of Glory)
Thank you very much. I have a soft spot for the pairing, so I will be doing my best to ensure they have a happy ending in anything I put them together in. :D... It's allways good to meet someone else who can't resist those naughty Slytherins.
A wonderful end to this installment of the series. I enjoy your portrayal of everyone. You make Lucius seem human, while still keeping his devious side open. I am looking forward to the story!
Response from phoenix (Author of The Price of Glory)
Thanks, Jenny. I really did enjoy Lucius here and it would have been so easy for me to delve into his mind. In fact, my first draft really did and I had to force myself to focus more on Hermione. That made it a more fun story for me. And I hope to get to the last one sooner rather than later. :)
Hey there! Sorry I didn't review before, but I read this and thought I'd let you know it was wonderful.
Response from phoenix (Author of The Price of Glory)
No worries on the not reviewing. I'm glad that you thought the story was wonderful. It was a lot of fun for me to write.
Thanks for the reconciliation and for giving Harry the chance to start working out his demons. In this universe, anyway, I think Lucius/Hermione deserves a chance. Thanks for the great story! I'll keep an eye out for Draco's POV.
Response from phoenix (Author of The Price of Glory)
Thank you very much. I kind of felt sorry for Harry. He's been hating Lucius for years, and he finally had a really good reason to hate the man and had it yanked out from under him. I just love the Lucius/Hermione pairing, so I will strive to give them a happy ending, but I have muses that you just can't reckon with sometimes.
Ah, that Lucius is a good actor! Well, I hope Hermione is always happy with her choice, and maybe she'll have at least one Gryffindor child. A Malfoy in Gryffindor! Well, I'll be waiting patiently for "Fallen from Glory" where Draco and his stepmum/wife have something wicked fall on them. Thanks for this story!
Response from phoenix (Author of The Price of Glory)
Oh, June, a Malfoy in Gryffindor I love that idea. I wonder what he would do if that happened. As of now, Hermione thinks that she made the right choice. We'll see how that goes.
You mean I have to be mean to Draco and Phaedra? I think I can do that.
Response from June W (Reviewer)
ahem.... "Fallen from Glory"? It doesn't have to be very long - just enough to kill Draco and Phaedra!
Response from phoenix (Author of The Price of Glory)
The stars have aligned and I did actually write the final installment of the fic. As to whether or not I was mean to them, well, you'll have to see. My beta is working on it and I hope to have it back soon. I have waffled between letting Draco find some sort of happiness or being miserable.
Hee hee hee! A very Slytherin thing to do indeed! I loved this chapter! That lotion was a stroke of genius! I love how Lucius got Severus involved! Great job!
Response from phoenix (Author of The Price of Glory)
Thanks. I really do enjoy trying to come up with really good Slytherin schemes. It makes writing for the Slytherins so much fun. And of course I had to involve Severus. He makes at least a token appearance in just about everything I write.
Great story
Response from phoenix (Author of The Price of Glory)
Thanks, I'm having lots of fun playing with characters in this one. Standby for some heavy angst. Well, maybe not heavy any more. But there is still some. :)
I nearly missed the update, but am glad that I found it. I find that I am frustrated with Hermione. He admitted that he cared for her, and she didn't seem to even notice. Lucy-Love could at least pretend to be a bit more affectionate towards her, aside from wanting her body. Silly man. I look forward to the next chapter. Thanks for updating.
Response from phoenix (Author of The Price of Glory)
The problem is, they both want things there way, and right now, she's nursing her little grudge, and he's quite miffed. Being a smart man, I think he'll figure out he screwed up big time. Question is, can she overcome her hormones? LOL
Glad you enjoyed the update. I'm working on the next chapter.
How can Hermione resist the charms of Lucius?! I know I could not and besides she is having his baby and we know he is a much better prospect than his useless son. I do like how he has been disowned. Ah how many times I have wished for that when I have stumbled across some game or another with an abomination for Draco. What can I say other than it is the Slytherin in me?! As always I really did enjoy the latest instalment of the story and would like to thank you for writing it and sharing it with us. Great chapter and looking forward to the third. Well done once more. KC
Response from phoenix (Author of The Price of Glory)
I loved the disowning, too. I tried to think of the most horrible thing Lucius could do to Draco and that was it. It was fun having petulant brat Draco to play with.
As for Hermione resisting Lucius, well, she's hormonal right now. I think once Lucius realizes that, he'll try to convince her rather than bully her, which he found isn't working.
I do hope to have the third up sometime this week. We'll see how it goes. I have some minor rewriting I need to do. I really need to figure out how I'm going to end the whole thing. LOL
No, Hermione! Not Harry!! Groan... So Lucius didn't remind her that she sometimes said that she wished she were married to him instead of Draco. I do hope she thinks things through; this child is going to one day want to know who his/her father is. Thanks for updating!
Response from phoenix (Author of The Price of Glory)
LOL Yeah, going to Harry probably isn't the smartest thing to do, but he's the one contact she has to the Wizarding world that will be kind to her... As for Lucius not reminding her, well, he's a bit distressed, too. And he joins you in hoping that Hermione will calm down and think rationally.
I was so pleased to see you had started the second instalment. Poor Lucius, my heart went out to him and to Hermione really. Draco is such a weed in this, his step mother and he deserve each other. I just pity their child with those two as parents. I wonder how she will take her new husband no longer having the Malfoy name? Badly I hope. I loved it, adored it and can’t wait for chapter two! Thank you for writing and posting chapter one-it is wonderful. ~KC
Response from phoenix (Author of The Price of Glory)
Thanks, KC. Yup, poor Lucius and Hermione are on opposite sides of a gulf created by a misunderstanding. Rest assured, he wants to bridge that gap, it's just a matter of figuring out how. LOL
As for Draco and Phaedra, you will learn more about them in the next installment.
Hopefully more will be coming in the next few days.
Heh, this reminds me so much of when I was pregnant with my little ones. I am a very emotionally volatile person anyway, but oh, boy! Pregnancy brought out my more... difficult side at times. Great start to this installment! You rock, as always!
Response from phoenix (Author of The Price of Glory)
Yup, poor Hermione is in for a rough ride. We've had evidence that she is fairly emotionally volatile, too (the troll in the bathroom, blowing up at Ron, etc), so that's going to play into her behavior. Hopefully she can be made to see reason and that Lucius has the patience to realize she's very hormonal. Glad you enjoyed the first part. :)
I've been looking forward to this story ever since I stumbled onto the first one! I think it'll be fun to hear the story from PregnantHermione's perspective--she'll be somewhat nutty and I'm sure it'll be entertaining. Poor girl. It must tough to be in love with a Malfoy. :-) Great job!
Response from phoenix (Author of The Price of Glory)
Thanks, wildkitty. I'm glad to hear that you have been looking forward to the sequel. I had hoped that it wouldn't take quite this long, but what can you do? I do agree that Hermione's perspective will be quite interesting because she is pregnant. Yes, getting involved with Malfoys is always complex.
