I picked up the Harry Potter fandom around the time the first movie came out and began writing fanfic early 2005 after discovering the adult online community. I identify most closely with the Slytherins and you will see my taste in writing lends me to writing about Slytherins more often than not. In addition to fanfiction, I also make fanvids on the Harry Potter fandom. I'm a Perfect Imagination acredited beta and am willing to help authors. My main 'ship interests are Snape/OC (never really got into the SS/HG pairing) and LM/any female (with HG as a new favorite). I have dabbled in RL/OC and RL/NT and am okay with those pairings. I generally shy away from slash, just not my thing. For updates on my writing, check out my Live Journal
Reviews for The Price of Glory
I wish she wouldn't have stormed off like that. At least she is now thinking more clearly. She should realize that he cares for her as more than "property" or manipulations. Anyway, good start on second tale. Cheers

Thanks, SW. Hormones are a wonderful thing, aren't they? I think this one says it all Hopefully she will once again become rational and realize that he really did have her best interests in mind.
Great start to this story from Hermione's perspective. I think that Lucius does really care for her. I hope she decides to give him a chance!
Response from phoenix (Author of The Price of Glory)
Thanks, Lyndie. She really does need to sort out her emotional roller coaster. Having emotional trauma while pregnant is never a good combination. I do hope she will give Lucius a chance, too.
Wow. 0.0!
I think you have managed typing Hermione beautifully. Enjoying the read, and yes, a great sequal!
Response from phoenix (Author of The Price of Glory)
Thank you very much. At first I found Hermione a bit difficult, but over time grew more comfortable with her. I found this an interesting idea to tell what is essentially a long story arc in three parts with each part from a different POV. I'm glad you liked this installment.
I adore it when Harry doesn’t accept her having a relationship with a Malfoy. I like to see him act all angry and protective of her so you got it spot on in my book. And more children for them to is super, Harry would hate that as well I expect. A wonderful final chapter to the story of bushy and the dashing blond. Thank you greatly for all the hard work on this great story. I enjoyed each and every chapter. ~KC

I see Hermione/Lucius being something that's definitely going to take Harry quite a while to get used to. I think the worst part of Harry is that Lucius just doesn't react to him. He just smirks and lets Harry act childish.
I hope to find time to begin work on the final installment of this trilogy in which we find out what becomes of poor Draco Black. LOL
He is such a tease! But it is working like a dream and I rather like it that way haha. It’s all super as always you so know I am going to say that. I am off to read the final chapter. Thank you again for a great chapter. ~KC
Response from phoenix (Author of The Price of Glory)
Thanks again for reviewing. I really love Lucius in this story. He's just so wonderfully manipulative and Slytherin. LOL
He is a clever wizard using that lotion to drive her mad for his touch. Any wonder she became dessert after the main course at lunch? I love this ship and I love this story. I am going to read the rest of the story now my computer is alive again, hence the tardiness of my reading and reviewing. Great chapter thank you. ~KC
Response from phoenix (Author of The Price of Glory)
KC, I loved that comment about her becoming dessert. LOL I'm glad that you are enjoying the story and there is no such thing as tardiness. :) Glad your computer has been resurrected.
I think Hermione is definitely coming around to thinking the way that Lucius wants her to think. She had an affair with him, she carries his heir, most of the wizarding world seems to accept her as Mrs. Lucius Malfoy. I hope she just goes with it! Thanks for the quick update! Cheers!
Response from phoenix (Author of The Price of Glory)
Thanks, Lyndie. But when has Hermione ever done anything the easy way. LOL At least she does seem to be coming around now. All that needs to be done is to keep her away from Harry and his prejudices. :D
Hmm, so is Lucius sincere, or is he just spinning a tale for her.... With the photos from the reception, won't Harry and Ginny find out what she has been up to? Only one more chapter?? Will there be a final wrap-up epilogue after the Draco fic? Thanks for updating!
Response from phoenix (Author of The Price of Glory)
Ah, Lucius, how well you know him. LOL I think we will always question his motives....Photos? What photos? What makes you think there will be photos?
When this is over, I will ensure there is a satisfactory end point for everyone. Don't worry. Well, satifactory to the reader.
Ah, very nicely done. I'm glad she finally "opened her eyes" so to speak. This is a lovely story. I'm looking forward to the conclusion. Cheers!
Response from phoenix (Author of The Price of Glory)
Thanks, SW. Yes, she finally took the "Harry filter" off. LOL Boy, I wish I'd thought of that earlier. I could have referenced it. *sigh* Oh, well.
Hee hee hee, gotta love Lucius! LOL! I can't wait to see what he tries next! Hermione sure is being a stubborn one! LOL! I so would have taken the money! LOL! Great chapter!
Response from phoenix (Author of The Price of Glory)
Thanks. Hermione is stubborn, isn't she? I mean she has held grudges against Ron twice, not to mention the whole troll in the girls' bathroom incident. She had too much pride to take the money. This is the same girl that used a time turner to take all the classes and worked herself to exhaustion trying to do it all. There should be a new chapter tomorrow. I need to think straight enough to format it. LOL
Response from Alauralen (Reviewer)
Oh, I have no doubt that Hermione would have far too much pride to take Lucius' money, she just isn't the type to take a handout. I, however, would not have had that much of a conscience after all that family has done to her! LOL! All three of the Golden Trio enjoyes being annoyingly stubborn. I think you are doing a great job keeping Hermione in character. Harry and Ginny, too, for that matter. I have already told you how great I think you are portraying Lucius! I am off to read the next chapter now!
I have sadly neglected this story. I am getting caught up on my reading now since I am back from my mother's. I love this story. Lucius is one of my favorite characters. There is just something so... dastardly sexy about him. I very nearly envy Hermione, if it weren't for all the scandal. LOL! I can't wait for the next installment!
Response from phoenix (Author of The Price of Glory)
Thanks, Jenny. He is very dastardly sexy in this one. Isn't the scandal, or near scandal as it is just so much fun? LOL No worries on catching up, you got lucky that I was still waiting for chapters. The last couple will be closely spaced. :)
Hey wait a minute... are you going to tell us what happens when they get home??? You're not going to just THERE, are you?? And you're not going to let her stay with the Potters forever? Ick!! Hurry with the next chapter, please!
Response from phoenix (Author of The Price of Glory)
Did you not know that I'm the mistress of evil cliffhangers? LOL I perfected those in "Redemption". This story just hasn't quite lent itself to the same level of tension, but I had to take the opportunity when it came. I promise, the next chapter will be up in a couple of days.
Another good chapter. I'm quite happy she's going with him. When she said she hated what he did to her, I wanted to pull her hair and say, "Open your eyes, girl." LOL Good work.
Response from phoenix (Author of The Price of Glory)
LOL, thanks, SW. Her behavior is frustrating, isn't it? Imagine how poor Lucius must feel. Here's to hoping she'll come around. ;)
Great plot movement. Lucius has her right where he wants her; I hope he can keep her there. Really, it is best for all concerned. As they say, it's all water under the bridge at this point. Thanks for the chapter!
Response from phoenix (Author of The Price of Glory)
Thanks, Lyndie. Lucius really does have her where he wants her, doesn't he? Now he just needs her to behave like he thinks she should. LOL Darn pregnancy and the irrationality of hormones.
I was about to say, "Did they forget this is Lucius' child?" when they were talking in private. But his thoughts assure me that he remembers. Hopefully, she will think of that and realize that the wee one needs his dad, too. :)
Response from phoenix (Author of The Price of Glory)
Glad to have reassured you on a few things. :) If the calm and rational Hermione finally reasserts herself, I'm sure those thoughts will come to mind. :)
Poor Hermione! I feel so bad for her! Wonderful beginning to the sequel! I can't wait to see what happens next! I want to know if she is going to tell her parents everything, or just leave it at the bare essentials. And what is Lucius going to do to get her back in his bed? Hee hee hee! I love this! Great work!
Response from phoenix (Author of The Price of Glory)
I know how you feel. Hermione really was in a rough a spot at the beginning. She has so much information and deciding who to tell what will be hard. You think Lucius is going to plot to get her back? Whatever gave you that idea? LOL I hope you enjoy the rest of it.
I hope Hermione comes around before Lucius loses his all his patience. I don't want to see her suffer any more lose or sadness. Thanks for the update!
Response from phoenix (Author of The Price of Glory)
Thanks, Lyndie. We can only that Hermione will be able to think rationally after some time away from what upsets her. As for Lucius, I think he has a great deal of patience (outburst aside, we all have our bad moments. LOL)
Hmm, Hermione is calming down a little, but not enough yet. I wish she wouldn't run around seeking everyone's opinions; her future is not a topic for majority vote. Think things through, Hermy!!! Thanks for the new chapter.
Response from phoenix (Author of The Price of Glory)
Thanks, June. Yup, we need our calm, rational Hermione back. Of course, she's very good at holding a grudge (PoA and mad at Ron over Crookshanks/Scabbers and HBP for Ron being Ron LOL). Ah, advice, the double-edged sword. Let's see what she does with it, eh?
Oh Lucius you naughty but sexy man you! That is a very clever lotion he has given her and just proves how intelligent Severus is. He might hate love potions but he does not dislike arousal ones it seems! Ha! You so know I love this chapter just as I have the previous two in this story. Very well written and well done. *Waits patiently for chapter four* KC
Response from phoenix (Author of The Price of Glory)
KC, I'm so glad you loved this chapter. I really couldn't resist Lucius doing something devious. After all, he is Slytherin. As for Severus lending a hand, while he may disdain love potions, I think he would be opportunistic enough to realize how lucrative they could be, after all, he is Slytherin, too. I could have spent the whole story writing this one from Lucius' POV, but he already had his story. LOL Time for Hermione to have hers.Chapter 4 should be coming soon. I have to confab with my my beta and I should be off and running. :)
