Snape is in a bad place following the war. Hermione wants to help. Can they find enough in common to become friends, maybe more?

Reviews for The Leather-Bound Promise
I see... I'm not yet able to handle things correctly all the time here in this place. Seems that the short review I left with regard to this chapter did not reach its destination. Doesn't matter though *g*, it was nothing of great importance. Just a note to say that I enjoyed this chapter, it was fun to read. Just to imagine our dear Hermione with her proclivity for support campaigns for the underdogs gets the idea of starting a support campaign for Severus Snape of all people (like an eager marketing company employee) made me laugh! Oh, he will be soooo happy. But it just made me a bit sad to imagine him feeling the need to punish himself all the time, like some medieval flagellant. Makes my heart ache a bit, and I can hardly wait to read on (some days I just don't have the time to do much reading here, but the weekend approaches, and then I'll know how things develop. B.t.w. ... when Severus says 'I'm still the ROGUE Death Eater', was the pun intentional? Made me

No, I received the review! Thank you! If you look at the top of the chapter for which you wrote the review, there should be a link to read the reviews - You'll find it. I promise, when someone says something good about me, I'm going to see it Helena

I'll say one thing for Hermione and Severus, when they decide to "enjoy a bath," they do it right! I think they need another bath, don't you?Beth
Response from Helena Rickman (Author of The Leather-Bound Promise)
They all day! He does plan to keep her clean. Have a great holiday, Beth! Helena
OMG! There is absolutely no doubt that these two belong together and to each other. Lovely lemons, m'dear.Beth

Thank you! I love the thought that two broken souls can mend each other. Thanks for your continued reading and reviewing! Helena
Please excuse if I worm in here so unceremoniously and sideways when so many chapters are already written, but I found this place only yesterday, read two stories, liked them (and the whole site) very much and registered only today, so your's is only the third one I've been starting to read. Normally I should probably read a bit first, but I think that I should give kudos already for this chapter here ... i.m.o. the speeches of both Kingsley and Harry are so ... (insert here the appropriate English expression please, I'm sometimes not so sure) well, classy, eloquent, heartfelt and touching too, of course, and it was a pleasure to read them both. Both of them (meaning: the esteemed author) expressed my own thoughts and emotions. Secondly, finally somebody thinks of giving an Order of Merlin to Mr. Filch too!! In my opinion that step was overdue .. well, just imagine him, a Squib and consequently severely handicapped and - for reasons unknown - trapped in his frustrating, tedious job at Hogwarts, with almost no help and certainly no respect, always the outsider, always derided and insulted both by students and staff members, and when the final battle starts, he does not flee but helps as best he can, in spite of being completely unable to defend himself against magical attacks. If that's not called heroism, I don't know what is. Thirdly, I like the idea of someone jumping up and down and doing a happy dance because of something I do *lol* Ever since my kids are grown up and I can't just cause such a reaction by serving some yummy dessert or so, I've been missing that kind of effect. Now I'm very much looking forward to read the next chapters, and if I may, I'd like to return with another review or two in due course, or maybe after the most recent chapter.

, I am humbled and so very grateful for this review!I am flattered that my story is only the third you've read on The Petulant Poetess. I came upon the site a few years ago myself and find that it has some of the best fanfic to be found on the net. You will love this site.Writing the Awards & Accolades Chapter was fun. I could envision everything happening, and I, too, felt Filch never got his due. You are more than welcome to leave as many reviews as you want as you work your way through the story! I need to warn you its still a work in progress and I may not load the final chapters until Spring of 2016, but I promise I'm not abondoning this story.Thank you for reading and I truly and glad for each review I get - it lets me know that my efforts at writing are bringing some entertainment to others. Have a wonderul holiday season! Helena
Response from Moewe24 (Reviewer)
Oooooh! A prompt reply coming from the very first author on this site I've sent a review to! I'm either a very lucky reader to start with your story of all stories here, or it's a different ... climate? ... compared to the fanfiction dot net. Please understand that I shall be eternally grateful to many of the esteemed authors there, for making my life bearable in rough times by their stories, but hardly anyone replies to the reviews (with some, wonderful exceptions). Plus the fact that I've got a considerable number of stories on my favourites list which are updated once a year or so. So please believe me, I feel already spoilt (hope it's the right word) here on this site. Don't worry, I won't start an extensive exchange of replies every single time I receive a message, just this one time okay? It's just funny little me, sitting in my funny little country, being excited like a child peeking into a big bag full of Christmas presents right now. Have a very nice holiday season, too, and may we all have as much peace and joy as possible.
love the bath scene!! looking forward to whenever the next chapter is posted.. Hope u have a wonderful week!

There will be, I promise! I'm taking a short break as I work on my first gift_fest piece, but I'm down to the last couple of chapters on it, so I should have another chapter submitted here by the end of October, good lawd willin' an' the creek don't rise. I'm glad you're enjoying the story.
A submissive Snape. yummy!
Response from Helena Rickman (Author of The Leather-Bound Promise)
I think so, too! Maybe there will be more dessert later on! Thanks for reading and reviewing!
Helena, I have seen your name through out the SS/HG sites you always write wonderful reviews. I am glad that you are writing!!
Response from Helena Rickman (Author of The Leather-Bound Promise)
I've been reading SS/HG way too long without throughing in my two-cent's worth! Thank you! Your words make me
Whoa! That dream Severus had was unexpected, but it clearly indicates he has a keen interest in pleasing Mistress Hermione. I wonder if she will be surprised by his willingness to "work" with her?Beth
Response from Helena Rickman (Author of The Leather-Bound Promise)
Maybe... or maybe its the poor guy just wants to be punished. Let's hope Mistress Hermione is up to the task! Thanks for reading and reviewing.
Can I just tell you how much I love this story? Well, I love it to pieces!!!!I can't wait for Hermione to show up at Spinner's End with her publicity marketing plans. In this chapter we see how much regard she has for her former Professor, and we also know how much regard he has for her... so I'm just wondering how hard Severus will make her work to convince him to let her help?Beth
Response from Helena Rickman (Author of The Leather-Bound Promise)
Beth, I am so glad you're loving it! You won't have to wait long to see what happens. Next chapter is queued up, and they will meet and well.....Thank you for reviewing!
Thanks for the update, Severus and Hermione seem to be slightly out of sink, or is it just me.
Response from Helena Rickman (Author of The Leather-Bound Promise)
Maybe a little, but I promise by the next chapter (which is queued as we speak) they will begin to sync up nicely! Thanks for your review, and please keep reading!
Sometimes the hardest thing to do is to convince someone they need help and to accept it. Go Hermione. Severus, watch out! Enjoy this story.
Response from Helena Rickman (Author of The Leather-Bound Promise)
I am glad you are! Thanks for your review.
Oh dear God, poor Severus, Hermione wants to help, and now she has the bit between her teeth, well he wanted to suffer, be carefull what you wish for.
Response from Helena Rickman (Author of The Leather-Bound Promise)
Hah! Thanks for reading and reviewing! Maybe he won't regret it too much?
I think Severus and Hermione are in their favorite places. He wants to deny himself for his sins, and Hermione has a plan to save him from himself. This is gonna get gooder than it already is.Beth
Response from Helena Rickman (Author of The Leather-Bound Promise)
It certainly is! I'm glad you're enjoying the story. Thanks for reviewing.
My poor SS_HG. They're both too lonely and feel like they have no prospects, but I have hope that's about to change.Beth
Response from Helena Rickman (Author of The Leather-Bound Promise)
Beth, be a good girl and that just might happen! Thanks for the review!
Poor Severus it's seems he still thinks he should be punished after all that he did. I like how the story is going. I can't even imagine what Hermione has up her sleeve.
Response from Helena Rickman (Author of The Leather-Bound Promise)
You know Hermione, she's going to come up with some smart plan. Thanks for reviewing!
Awwww even with torture n stuff it was a sweet fluffy chapter.
Response from Helena Rickman (Author of The Leather-Bound Promise)
Thank you, hon! Yes, these two need to find some comfort with one another. The fluffy will start thawing out the icy from here on. Helena
Severus thought the Kneazle would make a good dust mop if push came to shove. My husband felt the same way about my toy poodle when we were first dating.Zounds! He hath had an epiphany!!! Good man. (And good chapter.)
Response from Helena Rickman (Author of The Leather-Bound Promise)
Thank you! Helena
She's gone! The wicked reported witch is gone.I'm sure the rest of the chapter is stunning but I cannot get past that.
Response from Helena Rickman (Author of The Leather-Bound Promise)
I had SO MUCH FUN writing that chapter! I don't know if anyone else has squashed her before, but I've not read a story yet where they have and for the life of me, if you have a character death, it might as well be her! Thanks for letting me know you enjoyed it! Helena
Response from Phyllidia (Reviewer)
I don't suppose you have a fic where you off Umbridge do you?
Response from Helena Rickman (Author of The Leather-Bound Promise)
Sorry I don't - but that could be a good prompt!
Response from Phyllidia (Reviewer)
I thought a great round robin or drabble comedic fest would be awesome done along the lines of Simon & Garfunkel's 50 Ways to Leave Your Lover only change it to 50 Ways to Kill Dolores Umbridge.
She asks him if he's up for it. She has no clue.Drat that beetle! Maybe she'll inadverdantly help the cause.
Response from Helena Rickman (Author of The Leather-Bound Promise)
So right! He's been up for it since the library. Poor thing - thanks for reading and reviewing! Helena
"How do you feel about my proposal?” Randy as a Rough Fell ram surrounded by a herd of ewes in estrus"You made me LOL. Hermione has no clue what her clothing is doing to him.
Response from Helena Rickman (Author of The Leather-Bound Promise)
*snorklesnorksnork* I had a difficult time coming up with a response, but this seemed rather appropriate. I even had to google which species of sheep would have been native to that area! It doesn't take much to get a man's blood going, does it? Helena
Response from Phyllidia (Reviewer)
Thank you for your research. It was awesome. I told my hubby next time he is in the mood I want him to say that to me that.
Response from Helena Rickman (Author of The Leather-Bound Promise)
LOL I started a dirty-talk trend!

Hmph. Tea and biscuits never gave ME those sorts of dreams. I feel robbed. Maybe I need to change teas.Good chappie. Their dreams are in line but I'm sure they can work something out.

Well I'm thinking Snape just might want to be punished for past deeds. But that's just a guess.Good chapter.
