Reviews for London's Burning
I needed cheering up. I went to my faviorites looking for a lift. I found this story and it certainly did the trick. I wish there were more fluffy stories this well written out there. Real life sometimes leaves an old woman world weary and angst is not as much fun as it was when I was younger. I've got work, the kids have moved home with their kids and my my little grandson has a fever and the flu. Thank you for this story!

Dear heart, I'm sorry that you needed a lift, but I'm glad I was able to provide it. I agree; I don't like drowning in the heavy stories as much as I used to. I'm glad I could help. I will send healing thoughts and love to your dear grandson, and hope he will feel better very soon. Young ones tend to bounce back pretty quickly, so I hope he'll be bouncing around in no time at all. <3
How intriguingly sexy! O to be in Hermione's shoes on this fine summer day. I bet she does a little dance when she once finds herself alone in her hotel room. He's planning to sweep her off her feet? Did she just win the lottery! OMG! What to wear?
So cute 'n fluffy I love it!

That rose scene made me teary! So beautiful! Thank you for such a lovely little story.

Thank you so much! I think we'd all love for someone special to do that for us! :) I'm glad you enjoyed it.
If I day dreamed for a century I could never come up with a more romantic story! Was there any Severus Snape fantasy that was left undone? (Well, OK the detention fantasy, but it's been done often enough.) I like this one better! Could love and life be any sweeter? Damn I'm jealous! I'm going to make my husband read this and see if he can glean any hints. I think I was married for 13 year before I gave up my Cinderella fantasy.

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it - I did warn it was a fluff-o-rama! ;)

Sweet enough to make your teeth hurt? Yes, but also sexy as hell! Despite Severus and his major sweet tooth you managed to give us a little of his old self in a not so snarky way when reminded her that he did give her the roses. Sometimes all fluff is good angst and drama can be really draining to the reader and the writer. Thanks Teddy. Hugs~dee

Thank you! Yes, sometimes angst for angst sake does wear you down. I just wanted a happy bit of fun for our couple. After all, they deserve a little fun. I think they (and we, for that matter) have enough angst in our lives.

I needed sweet and loving tonight. Then I read this and it fitted the bill 100x times over. Thank you, Teddy!

Its odd to me, but in my real life, I don't really care for romance. It feels silly to me, and if my husband pulled something like the one flower at a time spectacle, I would accept it with grace, of course, but there would be some serious internal eye rolling going on. However, in fiction, it has me swooning beyond belief. I'm weird, I suppose. At any rate, I loved this! Hermione's request at the clothing store and the clerk's reaction were great. I really liked this line: “Let’s hope your man speaks fluent ‘Sin,’ dearie, because this outfit is from the Mother Country.” I'm not always a fan of Dumbledore and his interfering ways, but in this case it is for a good cause, so I am good with it. Hermione had been a constant source of magical energy; kind, laughing, firm, quick, gutsy and inexhaustible. I love that these are the qualities that he finds likeable about her. Usually it is her brains and the like, but here he recognizes different qualities that appeal to him. Its just a nice change of pace. And their date ... I think he has outdone all men everywhere. Not only the flowers and compliments on her looks, but the area that he creates for them to sit in and enjoy the music ... it was such an amazing romantic gesture. Comfortable, and scenic, and intimate ... perfect.I love the talk of number fourteen, and how Severus Fifteen Snape has now rendered it obsolete. Made me laugh. And then he works things out so they can be together all of the time. Does it get any better than that? This is fluffier than I've come to expect from you, but I'm officially proclaiming that you are 100% qualified to write such sweetness. Is there anything you can't do?

I am so glad you enjoyed this story. After I wrote it, I was a little worried that my street cred would suffer, because it was so fluffy, but you know, when my Muse tells me to write something, I have to. It's what he asked for, and gave me the tools to write, so I'm not quite as worried about it anymore. I think the only thing that I wrote that's along this line is Choose Something Like A Star, which is a Christmas story and that give you a little leeway. At heart, I am a romantic softy!I think I've read about Hermione and her "no. 14" in a couple of stories and couldn't resist throwing it in here ;)You are so kind and encouraging, and I always get a thrill when I see you are the reviewer. I know that your comments will be uplifting, and from the heart, and I really appreciate them so much. You make me feel like I can do anything!

I love flirty Snape! Not everyone's flirty Snape, mind you, but yours is so adorable. (don't mention that to him, ok?) Sometimes he is written out of character, but you have him subtle enough that it totally works. And I am swooning something fierce. “Wear something pretty, Hermione Granger. I’m planning on sweeping you off your feet.”*Melts into a giant puddle*

:) I had a lot of fun with this story, as you can probably tell. I wanted to be a bit AU (Hence Dumbledore is still alive after the war and Severus didn't kill him) so I could make him a bit more flirtatious. This is a character you really want to 'find his feet' after all is said and done. I keep writing Severus, because I keep wanting him to have a happy ever after, and this was one way he could provide one for Hermione as well.

Rarely has mischief been managed so beautifully, from the dress, to the roses, and on to a wonderful happy ever after.

I was feeling sorry for Hermione, she seemed so lonely, but I think things are looking up. I love the way you have written Severus, the flirting was just lovely.

Thank you! I would hope he would learn to relax and enjoy life, especially in this universe. I have always thought they were so good for one another - I just wanted to show him they were, too!

What a great fic! The romance was awesome and it was nice to see Snape and Granger getting what they wanted. :) Brava!

Your descriptions of London were spot on and mirrored my own feelings about the city. I love my home town of Dallas, New York is the greatest city in the world, but London... I love London most of all.Fun story. Well done. I always enjoy your work.

Thank you so much! I lived in London for ten years, and I loved it so very much. My husband and I ate at that little Cypriote restaurant one sunny afternoon in June, and I never forgot it. We sat outside on the side walk and people watched and the waiters treated us like 'royalty in exile'. I knew one day I'd love to write about that day, and letting Hermione meet Severus there was such a fun way to do it. I love the Royal Albert Hall and the Imperial War Museum as well, so naturally, so did Hermione! Thank you so much for your lovely comments.

As I said, even better the second time around! Well written also. I can see the whole thing play out in my mind. I especially love the roses from strangers. What a romantic idea! Was that a fantasy of yours, or did you see that somewhere?
Response from TeddyRadiator (Author of London's Burning)
I was reading about roses and how in Victorian times it became popular to place meaning on certain flowers, and the colorus of roses in particular to send a message, and I thought it would be fun to have Severus do something really wildly romantic with this information! I'm really glad you liked it. I spend a happy afternoon looking up all the meanings so I'd make sure Severus was sending the right message! ;)

Teddy! Gah! I'm breathless here. There is a cadence to this fic... it just captures the reader and whirls them away into a lovely world of passionate love. There is no stopping, not for the reader, and certainly not for Hermione and Severus. And thank god for that!!

I have read this before. Even better the second time around.:) Love your rendition of Snape after the passage of time. A: he LIVES!!! B: He has mellowed quite nicely with age.
Response from TeddyRadiator (Author of London's Burning)
Thank you so much! I realise that this is not the popular view of Severus in a lot of fanfic nowadays, but I can't help but think that an intelligent, brave man like him would at least try to move forward instead of wallowing in the past as he had for so long. And I realise I've made him a litt OOC, but hey, who among us hasn't tried to reinvent themselves to get the attention of the object of our desire? LOL I'm really glad you enjoyed it - it was a lot of fun to write, and I am always thrilled when readers like it.

Oh, I have always loved this story, and fell in love again with this re-read.This is one of my 'feel-good' fics I turn to when I want a happy read. And anytime Snape gets his happily-ever-after I want to squee just a bit, anyway.

Thank you so much! I was just over on deviantArt, where the majority of readership there hates this kind of SSHG fic (they are mostly younger and don't really 'get' Severus, IMHO), but sometimes this is just what's needed - overwhelming angst and tension is good, and conflict is King, so they say, but sometimes what you just want is a nice little kitchen sink drama that makes you feel good. I am glad this one could fit that bill.

I so love stories where people find a happy life. I guess I am just not an angst girl. Thanks for a story I can cheer for.

I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Sometimes you just need a happy story. Angst is okay, but I don't want a deluge of it either! ;) I think a gentle story can be just as enjoyable as a gut-wrenching one! ;)

Aww, cute sugary fluff. Exactly what I needed on a late night that I can't sleep anyways. Love the roses, and the "poof of Slytherin" was hilarious!
