Something else from me for Halloween. It's 25 years since Godric's Hollow. Please find herein a bucket load of snarky rows, angst, swearing, and a pissed bonobo. Warning: the end of this is full of angry smut. Toxic lemons. Furious citrus. You get the idea….

Reviews for All Hallows' Reckoning
Going back to re-read the Redemption Charm, I also ran across this, which I seem to have missed. I liked it very much, with the parallelism between Severus and Hermione, both learning to let go. And you do really obnoxious Ministry officials very well indeed. (Is she related to Cormac, I wonder.)

!! Thank you for letting me know that you enjoyed AHR! It was great fun to write at a time when all I could find were gloom striken and hugely angsty horror fics. I thought I'd write something with a different angle... and a pissed bonobo in it.... *winks* Pxx

Oooh - sorry - and yes, I always envisaged that she was Cormac's ghastly mother....!
Wonderful intensity. As the speech is given, Severus' anger is rising and then as he rushes out, one can feel their heart starting to beat faster. As the reader I could really imagine being in that room with the storm of Severus' anger raging in that confined space. Hermione is a brave woman. It would be frightening to walk into that room even if you trust him. I know whence his anger and intensity emanates, but is Hermione's intensity a result of her shared anger at his humiliation and a result of suppressed lust she didn't know she harbored for him? I didn't feel like it was related to her failed relationship with Ronald. That seemed separate and only provided an opportunity for this to happen between herself and Severus. I've always loved the phrase "it's a reckoning" after the context it was used in the movies Unforgiven and Tomestone. It kind of gives me a little thrill and a tight throat.

. I think Hermione had known it was over with Ronald for a long time but had clung to the security of that ring as a crutch, just as Severus was holding on to his guilt and rage over Halloween.... I hoped to show that she does understand Severus. Stepping into that room with him was brave, but it was something that she had to do because she had made him attend the feast in the first place; so she deserved to be the focus for his wrath, even though she perhaps knew on one level that she could also be the salve for it, too. Thank you for taking the time to write to me; I really appreciated reading your toughts. Best wishes, Pxx

I loved this on Ash,and I just had to read it again here. I love the raw, explosive passion at the end! So sexy and wonderfully written.

Thank you, Teddy! I needed to write it so I could clear some 'headspace' over a mad weekend at the end of October. My big multi-chapter is all about character, action and ridiculously complicated plotting, and I felt a real need for some angsty smut to blow away the Halloween cobwebs of gloom. Thank you (again!) for reviewing - I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Pxx

Beautiful and intense! I especially loved how he was so wrapped up in her and the moment that he couldn't seem to finish his sentences. If my Kindle would allow it, I'd definitely give this story 5 stars!

Had a quick break to hop over here--love the dynamics, build-up of *tension* and explosion of passion--along with the letting go of the past and the points highlighted for each, bringing them to fully consumate their own special All Hallows' Eve reckoning--lovely work!xxx

I feel nothing but contempt when Hermione (or Albus or Minerva or Harry or Lucius) insists on forcing Severus to attend social functions he doesn’t want to attend. Some people just don’t like parties! And there’s no law of the cosmos that says they have to like them. If Severus wants to stay home, Hermione should shut her fat trap and let him stay home. She is not Dumbledore or Voldemort, and is not allowed to order him around. Why on earth does she WANT to make him suffer, anyway? Some sort of perverse revenge? Or is she still just a bossy brat, the way she was at eleven? No wonder Ron divorced her. Yes, the sex was spectacularly hot, but it had to be in order to even begin to make up for Hermione’s initial obnoxiousness. Is she going to start behaving with a little respect now that Severus has properly fucked her? Or is she going to continue being tyrannical and end up getting dumped a second time?

. I'm not sure that either of them will or can change, so she may indeed push him too far in the future. But then, he might push her too far too... The end of the story is the start of something, but you can never guarantee where it will go. Mmmmm.... Pxx

! I'm really pleased you liked it! I wanted to try a lighter take on Halloween - although I couldn't shake off all the angst no matter how hard I tried. So please you enjoyed the angry fruit! Pxx
You are one of the Halloween Quizz stories!whooooo! Whhhoooooo! You and I both and this is such a good one for them to choose. I love his anger steming from the speech and that the stupid Ministry lady, smug bitch, thins she was such a hit? I was utterly inpressed with how well Hermione stood up to Severs' temper, and how quickly he's mood and anger changed when he'd seen she'd been cut. Not to mention that was one whot love scene! whoa baby.
Response from Proulxes (Author of All Hallows' Reckoning)
Hello sweetie! Thank you so much for your review - this was a real hoot to write as you know and it means a lot that you enjoyed reading it. Pxx
I love the intense emotion of this story. Especially since Snape starts out so anti-Hermione. By the end he has certainly changed his opinion. :) I think they both might have remained stuck in the past had it not been for the prodding of one another. I'm glad this ended steamily ever after.

! Thanks for your review. I'm so pleased you liked the way the characters got together. :)I do so like a brittle and defensive Snape, and was determined that he would not lose his 'bite', even if he achieved redemption. Pxx

What an astonishing, wonderful, redemptive reckoning!!! Severus and Hermione are clearly well suited to and for each other. My heart broke for Severus when that horsey McClaggen woman rattled on and on about something she didn't understand in the slightest. I'm so glad Pomona urged Hermione to go after him. There are a couple of things that had me rolling on the floor. I cracked up when "Minerva waggle her eyebrows and mouth the word “divorced” at the Ministry official by way of an explanation..." "A crazy image of her grandmother suddenly surfaced in her head, exhorting her to always wear clean underwear in case a car should hit her on her way home from work."I think all of us can recall times when we either witnessed or were participants in similar situtations. I like to imagine how the rest of the evening goes... after they have cleaned up this mess. 5 Stars!!!!Beth

Dear Beth, I'm so glad you liked it! This was my attempt at a PWP - which mutated into more than that! The power of sex to help us to heal only goes so far unless there is an underlying connection and understanding accompanying it (in my opinon!). Glad you liked the underwear reference - my grannie actually used to say that to me, you know! I'd like to hope that the evening continued much as it began, but you never know... ;) Pxx

Poor Snape, he really can't let go of things can he? Maybe with enough time Hermione can make him see.

!!! Lovely to hear from you again! I'm so pleased you liked AHR - I found writing it a very cathartic experience to be sure!! I think these too have a chance. By the way - if you have not read Summer School (for the Romantically Challenged)... AHR is the incident that Hermione refers to in her letters to Harry....! *shhh* Keep it quiet!! Pxx
