The tumult of Hermione's heart broken emotions is overwhelming in this opening chapter, as is Severus' acerbic and at times cutting assessments.

Her disintegration of self and of care, only rattled when Severus picks at her shredded sense of self is powerful and as a reader, it sucked me straight into the atmosphere you've created.

I want to kick Slughorn's comfy chair from under him, and see Severus take over the apprenticeship duties (which I think he will).
