Reviews for Learning Curve
“You is wanting a litter box for Miss Hermione, as well?”I almost fell out of my chair when Hurrie let that cat out of the bag. And just as funny was when Fluff woke up to find that she had been collared by her Professor. The very same profesor she has been obsessing over.I'm glad Severus, deep down inside, is drawn to Hermione, and I know that he wants to teach her a lesson, but I hope he won't wait too long to help her change back to her natural form.. I'm afraid she might not be able to return if too much time has passed. Beth

That is one of my favorite moments in the story - Hurrie's innocent slip changes everything but in the long run may be the thing that saves Hermione.Severus is aware of the problems of remaining in form too long, Peter Pettigrew notwithstanding (he was ever more rat than wizard anyway). But he will take his time with the lesson. Thanks for reading and reviewing. I really appreciate it.
Excellent chapter. Looking forward to the next.

Oh dear. Perhaps someday I will write their meeting - years after they've both left Hogwarts - but for now, this is where the story ends. I'm notorious for open endings. I hope you're not too disappointed.

I am confused. Is he lying about the collar? He siad he had worked an enchantment into the collar but isn't it different from what he says it is? And he mentions a bargain. When was there a bargain? I can't find it. He put the collar on her after he drugged her so how could that be a bargain? Sorry to be so obtuse.
Response from Melenka (Author of Learning Curve)
I am sorry it confused you, but that does not make you obtuse. It could have been clearer. He is not lying. The enchantment on the collar prevents Hermione from changing back into a cat, basically holding in place the spell he cast to unbind her. It's a temporary fix, until he can unravel the French text. She made the bargain by asking him for help in the first place. He rescued her, so she owes him. She couldn't negotiate beforehand, which means he gets to set the terms. When the time is right, he'll let her know that she can simply walk away and be free, but he did promise to torment her, and she seems to find his method inspiring.

In reading this again, I think it would be very interesting to see them in 10 year's time. The collar reminds me of those stories where a seemingly beautiful woman becomes something else when some permanent article of clothing is removed (cursed by a witch or something). This story is the only one I have read that talks about how such a "curse" might come about.I think in 10 years both of them woud have had the time and resources to thoroughly investigate the problem and determine if there is a possible solution. I am guessing it won't be something as simple as the spell Sirius cast on Pettigrew.Thank you for writing the story. I like the way you ended it with so many possibilities ahead.
LOL! Hermione has a fondness for becoming a cat, and I can't wait to see what Severus has to say when he realizes who this Fluff really is.Beth
Response from Melenka (Author of Learning Curve)
I'm rather fond of his reaction, harsh as it may be at first.
Oh, why not? Indeed, I know a fair few ladies who would love to find themselves where Hermione has found herself... and having the same thoughts, too!Beth
Response from Melenka (Author of Learning Curve)
I love that she gets to do this innocently. Who could pass up such an opportunity?
*hee hee* I strongly suggest not to eat or drink while reading the ending of this chapter. Chocolate is so hard to remove from a laptop screen. *hee hee* Good for Hermione. She really should have been sorted into Slytherin. ^_^
Response from Melenka (Author of Learning Curve)
Heh. I do apologize to your computer screen. I think Hermione's special brand of logic might be a good fit for Ravenclaw, as well. Then again, she'll need all her courage to go toe to toe with him in the future.
I love it!!
Response from Melenka (Author of Learning Curve)
Hooray! I am glad you enjoyed the story. :)
Great story - but poor Hermione! I dread to think how Snape will "torment" her... :)) Look forward to reading the next chapter!
Response from Melenka (Author of Learning Curve)
New chapter is up! I hope his actions do not disappoint. Trust me, they are only the beginning.
I wonder how long he will torment her before he figures out that she can't turn back (or she figures out how to turn back herself). Either way, I'm sure it will be humorous lol. I look forward to the next chapter!
Response from Melenka (Author of Learning Curve)
He is surprisingly kind, all things considered, but the torment is likely to last longer than the undoing of the spell. ;)
He's a suspicious bugger, isn't he? :)
Response from Melenka (Author of Learning Curve)
Can you blame him? Still, he took enough time to think it through before hexing her, which I think was good of him.
Poor Hermione! This is going to be fun!
Response from Melenka (Author of Learning Curve)
Moreso for him than her, I fear, but fun nonetheless! :)
HA! This is fun. I can't wait to read more!
Response from Melenka (Author of Learning Curve)
Thanks! Wait no longer. New chapter is up. :)
And the cat is out of the bag. I wonder how the house-elves knew her when nobody else recognised her. ^_^
Response from Melenka (Author of Learning Curve)
I think the house-elves know a great deal more than they say, and it would seem to me if anyone could see through Hermione's "disguise" it would be a house-elf.
Hmm, I wonder how Snape will react to all of this once she turns back... or, I suppose, if she turns back. I eagerly await the next chapter!
Response from Melenka (Author of Learning Curve)
Not turning back would be a tragedy. All that intellect lost to the world. Luckily, things are about to change...
Nothing creepy about this at all. You keep telling yourself that, Hermione. :)
Response from Melenka (Author of Learning Curve)
Heh. I don't buy it, either. :)
For a wild cat, she is shamelessly domesticated. ^_^
Response from Melenka (Author of Learning Curve)
For a wildcat, certainly. I think she's being terribly adventurous, so perhaps that's where her wild side comes in. ;)
Mmmm snuggles with Severus. Yes, I'd like some. Fun story. Looking forward to seeing where it goes.
Response from Melenka (Author of Learning Curve)
Thanks! I'm not sure he's normally the snuggly type, so she may have hit on the perfect way to experience that. Thanks so much for reading.
Yes, yes, and yes. Such a sweet scene. Thank you so much for sharing~
Response from Melenka (Author of Learning Curve)
I wonder if she will spontaneously change back whilst enveloped in his arms? *giggle* That would be a grand situation.
Response from Melenka (Author of Learning Curve)
Oh dear! I think she would find that very disconcerting indeed. Still, it's fun to imagine.
do you make the pretty pictures yourself?
Response from Melenka (Author of Learning Curve)
I do, with assistance from photoshop. :)
lovely story, hopefully Severus will turn her before it is too late
Response from Melenka (Author of Learning Curve)
Thank you! I think they have a little way to travel first. ;)
Two chapters in, and this is already a favorite. I even googled Scottish Wildcats to see what Hermione looks like. This is terrific. Thanks for writine!
Response from Melenka (Author of Learning Curve)
I am flattered! I'm glad you looked into the Scottish Wildcats. They are quite impressive. Thanks for reading!

It looks like he has her, exactly wher she wants him.
Response from Melenka (Author of Learning Curve)
Yes, though she still has trouble admitting that. I suspect she'll work through her issues in due time.
