More than a decade has passed since the end of the war and things have certainly changed. New and unexpected bonds of friendship have been formed and old ties have been strained. Will returning to England after all this time be the new beginning Hermione had hoped for or will it be the worst mistake of her life?

I am a Harry Potter fanfic fanatic, I only discovered it after the release of DH. Disapointed that the series was ending, I read some blurb about fan fiction (which I had never heard of before) clicked a link and 'voila' I was hooked. I started out reading mostly Dramione, but evolved and although I still like DM/HG, my OTP is SS/HG. I also enjoy reading LM/HG and 3-somes with SS/HG/LM or DM/HG/BZ. As you can see I love seeing Hermione paired with those lovely Slytherin men.
After reading for nearly 2 years, I started writing a bit of my own, mostly shorter drabbles or ficlets. I've written seveal stories for fests, such as the SS/HG exchange, the LM/HG exchange, and the LuciusBigBang, fest among others.

Found this gem earmarked at OBM - brilliant. I make it a point not to read under MA stories, as a general rule, but when recc'd, take a chance on them, as your characters did on love. And I'm so glad I did. Thank you for sharing your talent. Brilliant.

Where do I begin? I discovered your pen name here from another site and thought I needed to read your work. I must say I'm a slow reader and it always takes me a couple of days to read a story of this length, but once I started, I couldn't finish! Read it all in one day. This story is perfect - I love it! Time to pick another one of yours and get started.

Thanks so much! I'm so happy you enjoyed it. See, this is the reason I like writing from prompts because I end up with ideas I never would have done on my own. The prompt here was that post war Severus has become friends with Harry and Ron and Hermione dislikes Severus because of something in the past. I just threw the Malfoys in for fun. And my favorite thing of all about writing this story was Luna--she's such a hoot, I really love her. Thanks again for your lovely comments. :)

Hmm, not bad, though I kept wondering what I'd missed in regards to hermione being mad at Snape so much. I guess I was thinking cannon storyline too much. I tend to forget that HG/SS isn't cannon lol. I do like his dog's name though. :)
good story, I thought it was funny that she didn't trust neds tea service. glad they found their happy ending.

WHY is there no out of character warning on this? Now I just wasted my time reading the first two chapters. Please put an OOC warning on stories that are OOC. Some of us don't like to read stories like that. Thank you.

Some things are hard to let go of. A lot of people say Hermione should just get over it an get on with her life, but sometimes that is really hard to do. Sometimes it takes a very long time to learn to trust again.

Yeah so...about that. Hermione is calling Snape horrible and palling it up with the Malfoys...what'd Snape do to hack the Malfoys off so badly? O_o

Nothing in particular between the Malfoys and Snape just they have been gone for a long time out of the country and really had no contact with folks back in England.

Sure love how Snape has become a more assertive and in pursue of what he wants kind of guy, but knowing why Hermione is so reluctant will gave me a better understanding of the almost irrational attitude towards him, very OOC until now. I am dreaming with the hose and love the doggy, sounds perfect for me as well! I hope to read more soon.

Yes, things are a bit OOC all around. Hermione does seem a little irrational in regards to SS but she has her reasons. All will be unraveled eventually. ;)
Well, now I'm even more confused. Hermione's acting like they have history and Severus isn't! On a different note, I love how you've written Ron. Now I must read chapter four.

Thanks! I'm so glad you like my Ron. I wanted him to be her very good friend and not 'Ron the bastard', although I have been known to write that Ron before myself. ;)
Wow, that wasn't very smooth of Severus. Now she'll hate him even more! I enjoyed this chapter! I'm wondering if Hermione and Severus have any sort of history outside of Hogwarts. She really seems to resent any mention of him! I guess I'll just have to keep reading to find out! :)

No it wasn't a great move by Severus at all. There is a history there, but at this point it remains a mystery. *looks around 'mysteriously'*
What an intriguing start. I've read a few stories that have Hermione and Lucius in some sort of working relationship, but I don't think I've ever seen Harry and Ron willingly on good terms with Severus (especially when Hermione seems to hate him!) I find the different angle quite refreshing!
