I started exploring fanfiction after the depression and withdrawal following the publication of Deathly Hallows. I generally ship Severus and Hermione, but have a fondness for Severus and Minerva.
I have a husband and son. They love basketball, and I love fanfiction. We kindly allow each other our obsessions.

I knew it was Severus who spotted Hermione and Edward. I'm glad the "mother hens" were able to help Severus and Hermione, especially at the end there.
Response from Prof M McGonagall (Author of Book Club)
It is nice to see the mother hens helping rather than being too interfering. Thanks for reviewing!
Wow you've knitted such a wonderful fabric, complex patterns of reconciliation, and no one has to lose their face. Thanks for a great update. I'm somewhat surprised that all three mother hens agree with the relationship. How has this happened? Did they argue between with each other before they reached this point?
Response from Prof M McGonagall (Author of Book Club)
Thank you for such a nice comment about this chapter. As for the mother hens all agreeing with the relationship, I think that Pomona, at least, expresses some concern, but Hermione lets them know her feelings quite clearly. So they decide to support her if that's what she wants.
Please finish this fun story

Thanks! I'm glad you've liked it so far. The next chapter has been in the queue for quite a while. I hope it posts soon.
Aww.. Severus asked Hermione out!!
Response from Prof M McGonagall (Author of Book Club)
I'm glad you enjoyed there little moment of romance.
Old movies and church or Severus Snape... No brainer, really. :)
Response from Prof M McGonagall (Author of Book Club)
Yes, but you have to add family into that mix as there is family tradition involved...
Poison Ivy I shall call her now... ;)
Response from Prof M McGonagall (Author of Book Club)
LOL! Very true.
Clearly, they don't need matchmaking services!
Response from Prof M McGonagall (Author of Book Club)
Yes, they seem to be doing fine without the "Mother Hens."
Hmmm...and the plot thickens! This could be a little harrowing for Hermione, yes? Can't wait to see that first meeting!!
Response from Prof M McGonagall (Author of Book Club)
I suppose Severus could make life difficult, couldn't he? ;)
Response from Emerald Eyes and Moonstones (Reviewer)
Severus be difficult?? Perish the thought!! :-)
I think this is going to be a great story. I can't wait to see what book/author you've decided to include for the club! Something other than King Arthur/Camelot I hope!!
Response from Prof M McGonagall (Author of Book Club)
I hope the rest of the story lives up to the prologue for you. You'll find out the book the club will read in a couple of chapters. Thanks for reviewing!
Not bad, this had a whole lot more lord of the rings in it then I was prepared for (I'm not very knowledgeable about the series), but overall I liked it. For a pure blooded witch, though, Ivy Turner sounds WAY too muggle. Just saying.
Response from Prof M McGonagall (Author of Book Club)
This story is a bit of a love letter to The Lord of the Rings, but then it was an exchange gift for someone whose first fandom is LotR. Thanks for taking the time to read and review!
I've got to tell you that I have greatly enjoyed your story. My husband and I always make illusions between the LOTR/HP/Muggle worlds every time we watch the LOTR movies. We love each of the stories, and I'm delighted with your read of them. *sends selection of her best truffles! - Sara
Response from Prof M McGonagall (Author of Book Club)
Thank you! I'm glad you've enjoyed my Hogwarts discussion of Lord of the Rings. Thanks for reading and reviewing!
My, my, Severus, it was a peck on the cheek!! And they were discussing E's girlfriend before that! I loved how you depicted the house and how its run.
Response from Prof M McGonagall (Author of Book Club)
Severus's vulnerability is showing...I'm glad you enjoyed Prince Manor. I had a good time imagining it and the house-elves.
Oh great! I have the feeling that Severus saw Hermione with Edward, and came to the wrong conclusions. If Severus didn't see anything, then Ivy might've. But I'm leaning toward Secerus. I hope Hermione can fix the issue before it gets out of hand.
Response from Prof M McGonagall (Author of Book Club)
Yes, Hermione has her work cut out for her.
I think Ivy is jealous of Hermione and wants to flirt with Severus.
Response from Prof M McGonagall (Author of Book Club)
I think you're right. :)Thanks for reviewing.
Severus shows a lot of insight into the mechanics of relationships between people. Not so surprising given that he's much older than Hermione, but surprising how willingly he shares it. A true communication, wow!Ivy isn't quite getting where she wants to get, is she? Hm, I can't seem to feel sorry for her, should I feel bad about that? What the heck has M.M. in mind? The question in intriguing though, can Muggle parents visit e.g. an ill child, or can they attend the NEWTs ceremony?
Response from Prof M McGonagall (Author of Book Club)
Severus is a little more open in this story than in canon, and that is explained a little later in the story.LOL on your comment about Ivy. No, you're not supposed to feel bad for disliking her. :)I can't believe that there isn't some way for Muggle parents to see their child in the case of an emergency.
Ivy clearly senses a rival. Pity Severus is clueless. :)
Response from Prof M McGonagall (Author of Book Club)
Severus seems to be clueless to anything romantic for quite a while in this story. :)
I guess basketball in those swirly black robes wouldn't be a goer! :)
Response from Prof M McGonagall (Author of Book Club)
I seem to remember him reffing a Quidditch match in one of the books, so there must be an athlete in there somewhere.
Nothing like a challenge! :)
Response from Prof M McGonagall (Author of Book Club)
Hermione does like a good challenge. :)
Hermione's funny in the way that she tried to act very nonchalant with her questioning about Ivy and her feelings towards Severus; Yet she seems to be obsessed with him otherwise!
Response from Prof M McGonagall (Author of Book Club)
Well, Hermione isn't ready to admit any attraction for Severus, so she's seeming nonchalant even to herself.
I'm really enjoying this so far, especially the in-depth discussions regarding LOTR and how wizards and witches would respond to Muggle fantasy literature. The set-up of the meeting sounded lovely, with the different foods and drinks, etc. I look forward to the next chapter and see more of Pomona and Minerva's idea of matchmaking for Hermione!
Response from Prof M McGonagall (Author of Book Club)
I really enjoyed rereading LotR from a Hogwarts professor perspective. It allowed me to see all sorts of things in it that I don't usually notice. I'm glad you're enjoying it.
