I adore the world of HP.
Thanks for stopping by. I'm off to stir my cauldron.
Reviews for A Rose for Hermione
I've always loved "A Rose for Emily," and I think you've caught the perfect cadence of it for this short.

Thanks! I am happy that so many people were able to recognize Faulkner!
Yes, I definitely can see Hermione slipping into an obsession. And Ron ... I can't see what motives he had for acting like he did, apart from revenge because he had been rejected in favor of Snape.Sad.

That's the mystery of it. LOL... For you to decide, my dear. If he did send it and kept her location a secret purposely, then, yes, what a git. Now, poor Harry has to live with his mistakes and knowing that she hated him.
A bittersweet tale. Well worth a read and didn't make me cry mercifully! Excellent work!

thanks! It was sad, but not so sad that we'd be overly upset. :)
It had beautiful imagery and was a great story. And you definitely got me to think with this story...I was disturbed with Hermione's obsession, and the simple prose made me wonder what exactly she was doing there all these years- besides 'research.' *squick*Your dark stuff is just as great as your comedies. =]

Thank you very much. It does make us wonder what in the world she was doing. I'm thinking some bad things... LOL
Talk about obsession--and you know how much I hate Percy--this is my take: I wouldn't be surprised if Percy was so obsessed on working his way "up the ladder" that he finally told Harry where she was after all these years. *snicker* Didn't think of that one, now did you? But that's just my intense dislike for Percy coloring my perception.
I did like this story very much. Poor Hermione.

Haha... Someone on Ashwinder said it was probably Percy that sent the Dementor. I think he's very unpopular. hahahaha
Response from notsosaintly (Reviewer)
Gee... I wonder why. A little Percy bashing goes very far in my book.
Very interesting, but sad.
Response from Southern_Witch_69 (Author of A Rose for Hermione)
Agreed. Thanks.
Friends don't let friends live with Dementors. That's a funny as hell line.

LOL ty!
I liked this it was very bittersweet and ended in a way a lot of friendships end sadly enough. Well done

Yep, many people drift apart after school is over. :(
I thought this was rather like that Faulkner story :) The hair on the pillow and whatnot. Sad ending but given what you are going thru probably a healthy expression of grief. Thank you as always for writing. I always enjoy your work.

Very healthy expression of grief! Thanks for reading my stuff--twisted though I am. LOL
OMG, you really gave me shivers with this story. It was sad, creepy and slightly disturbing (or haunting like you perfectly suggested). It's so Hermione to get involved with something to the extreme, but this was just too much. She was certainly loosing her mind slowly with her obsession. I agree with you, who knows what she was doing there alone with Severus. Fifty years, she loved him (in a sickly way if you ask me) and it seems that she didn’t have much contact with others. Poor Harry, he'll always have the thorn of Hermione's loathe in his heart because of something he never did. I wish he had the chance to tell her. And Ron... I just hated Ron. Selfish, manipulative, hypocrite bastard, he seemed to me so mad about Harry moving on that he used Hermione's pain to drive them apart and be the nice friend at her side. And who knows, maybe he wanted pay back because it’s likely that Hermione refused him for Severus. What a better revenge than becoming the only one for her. Arghhh, I'm so outraged, he was the only one guilty of her death. I’m not fond of Ron, but in this one he was simply vicious. Great job, darling, you evoked intense emotions in me.

I was really having a tantrum with that review right? I had to read it again to realise that maybe it wasn't simply black or white with Ron. I guess I acted a little like canon Harry and acted guided by emotions before taking my time to think. Nevermind...
Response from Southern_Witch_69 (Author of A Rose for Hermione)
Hahaha!! Don't worry about it. It's great! It's the reader's perrogative to have their own take on things. Some think Ron did this, some speculate about Percy... :)
Definitely obsessive love. Spooky and angst-filled, but not squicky. Hmmm, who called the Dementor, Percy? Still a mystery.
Response from Southern_Witch_69 (Author of A Rose for Hermione)
Some others are thinking Percy, too. LOL HG was very obsessive with him and her research.
In many ways, love is an obsession and the line is quite blurred. Powerful and thought-provoking story, thank you!
