Well now, that is an interesting twist.   Severus certainly needs more to do than brood on Hermione's imagined indiscretions, and now he has it.  I like this story very much! 

Oh, I love the backstory about how house-elves came to be enslaved, and their true origins! I can't wait for the next chapter!!

This is so devastatingly sad for them both of them, but doubly so for Severus who is trapped physically and emotionally.

This reminds me of an old Kenny Rogers song from WAY back when, probably from way before your time, but that just goes to show that the plight of disabled veterans is the same no matter what war.

That was indeed quite angsty! How tragic for both of them.I think it needs a companion piece from Hermione's POV to round out the story.

Poor Severus. Perhaps he shound be given an option.While not inconceivable for Hermione to act this way, being the primary carer of an invalid - which is always a difficult and heartbreaking position to be in - I do indeed find it difficult to believe she would become so callous (so soon, at the least).Thank you for sharing this heartbreaking story.

Had he the power, I suspect he'd cast twice - once against her and finally against himself.

Oh, dear, this is hearbreaking.  This must be so difficult for both of them, each in their own way.  I rarely wish for this sort of thing, but I almost want to give him his wand so he can end it all.  Fantastically angsty!

Just as many of the other reviewers, I have a deep sense of forboding. Will he off himself? Or Hermione? If she would only tell him what's going on... But then we wouldn't have this juicy story, would we? I am waiting on pins and needles.

it's rather frustrating.  Why doesn't she tell him she's working? Their communication is so skewered  it's tragic.

ACK!!!!  Potions?!?!?  Severus isn't going to use Delky to make poison for Hermione, is he?  ACK!!!!  "Uncle" already -- we have always known that you know how to keep us reading.  Scary....

I agree with Moiramountain, this is a slow torture and I'm sure you are planning something evil for them ;)The warning Character Death still stands there... OTOH you didn't insert  Hermione in the list of characters in the description of the story, so perhaps you have changed your mind and forgot to change the details?Something tells me that I am hoping uselessly...Could you please tell us at least how many other chapters you've planned?Unfortunately, I will be reading them even if I'm going to be disappointed by the ending you have chosen.Finchè c'è vita, c'è speranza ;)
