Reviews for As Morning Falls
The ending felt very bittersweet. I'm so glad Severus and Hermione disappeared for awhile. I think they had to in order to really have a chance to give it a go as a real normal couple. There would have been too many questions and too much scrutiny if they'd stayed, provided he was even in the clear with the law. Still, i do feel bad for those they left behind, who missed them and mourned their loss. And now Harry has this secret he probably isn't supposed to share. Don't get me wrong, I really loved the ending, I just think I'd be super annoyed if I were Harry. I don't know whether to think they will eventually reunite with her old friends, or if this was a one time thing. Regardless, it seems to be a happy ending for all.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful comments. The ending of this story pretty much was the first thing about it that I was given, and the rest of the chapters were written as a preamble to it. I always thought that, after all those years of living without them, Harry would understand, and even support their decision. After all, absence soon rubs away at the rawness of loss, and 19 years is a long time to live thinking someone is out of one's life forever. I always hoped he would just be grateful they were alive, and would keep their secret, but you never know ;)

I agree with you, and hope he would feel that way. I just happen to be a super grudge holder, and I was reading him from my perspective. He's probably a much better person than I am, lol.
I wonder if they are in hiding forever, or just until the dust settles. Part of me thinks it is terrible to fake your death, and part of me knows they needed some time to recover with no outside burdens. Really nice chapter. Sneaky little thing with his fertility spell. :)

Well, he was ever the opportunist! ;)
There were some great lines in this chapter, but on my phone is too difficult to go back to point them out. But, it's a really beautiful chapter, and while I usually enjoy happier moments and good sex, I have to say that my favorite part of the chapter is actually the end, when he is leaving. The desperation, hopelessness, exhaustion etc is all there exactly as it would be. How is she possibly going to greet her boys as if nothing happened?!
Response from TeddyRadiator (Author of As Morning Falls)
I remember putting myself in that lonely tent, watching him leave and not knowing if I would ever see him again. I don't think I slept very well that night. All I could think about was hard it would have been to let him go, seeing how frightened and exhausted he was.
I love all the different ways in which she sees him and describes what he means to her. And how different it is from his view of himself. Hopefully she can change that for him.

Thank you!! <3
Any time I read a story where these two have a relationship, and they are able to meet up, whether at her tent or some other location during this time period, I can't help but think that must the both the most fortifying thing that could happen and the most agonizing thing that could happen, and I sense both feelings here. I wonder if we are going to get additional backstory? Or do we just plow ahead and make it to the end of the war? Or will all of the chapters take place on this one night in the tent? Okay, that might be pushing it, but you could probably pull it off. ;)

Oh, you know I can't answer these questions - that would be cheating ;)
This is my 3rd reading of your story and it always brings me to tears. I also wish for Snapes survival. I can beleive in addition to everything else that Hermione and Snape could have remained in contact as part of a larger plan. I would love to see a back story to this one. Filling in the years for them. Maybe showing how Aunt Minnie was brought into the secret and became a part of the boys lives ( maybe giving each a self correcting copy of Hogwarts a history?) Are they tenativly able to develope a friendship once the M's move back to the UK. Do some or all of the boys 'know' or do they tell them once they leave school or not at all? Is there another baby on the way or does he see Harry and remember the danger to pre born Skyler?I have as many questions from this story as from the original JKR books.I do hope that your Muse will kick in. Maybe in the form of Hermione telling Harry about their lives after the shack? One of the few stories I have reread.Again,

Thank you so much for your amazing comments and questions. I have thought about these questions as well, but my Muse has not given me anything further on this story. This isn't to say I wouldn't want to write something in future. I will keep hoping for something from my Muse, and if he is willing, I would love to write a followup, even if it's only a chapter or two. I just recently read a stunning story (the name which escapes me at the moment) where the author's notes include "excerpts" from autobiographies from Severus and Hermione and other 'writings', which fill in a lot of the backstory of her fic. Perhaps I could do something similar here. In any case, thank you for comments. When I do start working on the sequel, I shall definitely revisit your comments to be sure and answer your questions.

I look forward to it. I do enjoy your other stories as well :) I stumbled onto fanfiction a few mo ago and am hooked on the SS/HG pairing...I am not the most computer savvy of people so I have wondered from one story/author to the stories the author has liked and so on. If I like a story/style of writing I try to read all the stories by the author. ( I am not a fan of drabble so I tend to skip that in favor of a develpoed story line) Please keep writting:)

Thank you! I am gradually posting all my fics onto TPP - I love this site so much, and will be posting everything here over the coming months. I understand what you mean about drabbles, but there are some absolutely brilliant drabble series here, as well as on Live Journal. Also, the amazing SSHG_Exchange will be starting in a month or so on Live Journal - this is where all of SSHG's best and brightest writers and artists create gifts for one another. You will read some astounding fics there first, as well as the grangersnape100 community, which is a drabble community but the work there is awesome as well. I fell in love with writing drabbles as a form of dicipline (I'm very verbose, as you can tell!), and now I love working on them. I'm planning on posting several of my drabbles here in a single fic one of these days.

Awesome story, I wish it was possible now in this world so many years later for them to all become friends again. I enjoyed this very much.

Thank you so much! This is the one story I wish I had it in me to write a sequel for, so maybe one of these days my Muse will gift me with that, and we can see them come together again. Thank you so much for your lovely comment.

I think this is the third time I've read this story. I think I love it more each time I read it. Thank you for sharing this gift.

It is my pleasure. Thank you for your beautiful and moving feedback. I hope I will be able to bring you more pleasure in future with my writing.
Dear Headmaster Black! Screwed Dumblebutt, he did! I'm glad Severus and Hermione had a partner in crime. Slytherin House Rules!
Response from TeddyRadiator (Author of As Morning Falls)
Thick as thieves, these Slytherins!
So intense that anything I could say would reduce it. Your story throbs with emotion. I'll say no more.
Response from TeddyRadiator (Author of As Morning Falls)
Bless you. Thank you so much.
Your Severus and Hermione are so much more complex, so much deeper than any story I can remember. Your intuitive grasp of the unfathomable well, the complex and dark maze that is Severus Snape is truely beautiful. You've made him the most beautiful, the most profound Severus Snape I've ever imagined. Your gift is powerful. Your ability to make the reader know the heart of your characters is wonderful and sophisticated. This is perfect.

Thank you so much for your amazing feedback. I am so happy you feel this way. I was very inspired when I wrote this story, and it remains my favourite, so your words move me to tears. Thank you.
Beautiful, this is the best ending I have read for Hermione and Severus. Truly a wonderful fic, thank you for sharing it.
Response from TeddyRadiator (Author of As Morning Falls)
Thank you very much. Of all my fanfic, this is the story I'm most proud of, and especially the ending. I really appreciate your kind feedback.
Phoenix tears, bezoar, Blood-Replenishing Potion, Pain Potion, Anti-Infection Potion, antivenin, skin salve. The measured repetition of these Potions gives a sense of the desperation Hermione felt as she sought to save Severus' life. Always applied in the same order, in the same amounts. A long thought of plan, carried out to perfection.A fertility spell. Sneaky, snarky, sly bastard. He'd only gone and done the one thing she would have wanted; to have a bit of him should he not survive. I was tickled pink to know that this was the spell Severus had used, and I could feel her excitement as she cast her Muffliato so she could act out her boundless joy. Headmaster Black was at his Slytherin best here when he helped Hermione devise a plan to get Severus the help he needed without letting anyone know he had survived. This is a very well written chapter, Teddy. I take my hat off to you.Beth

Beth, thank you so much for your insightful, thoughtful reviews. This is my secretly favourite fic, and I'm so glad you are enjoying it.
Rearing above her, he placed his large hands over her abdomen and uttered a low incantation... She could feel his magic flowing into his hands as he stroked and pressed them against her vulnerable belly.Hermione cried until she fell asleep, the evidence of his passion and his protection drying between her thighs. What is this spell of love and protection has Severus cast on Hermione? I pray it will be enough to protect them both. This chapter is chock full of beautiful prose celebrating the great love between this man and woman. Please, please, please bring them back to each other safe and sound.Iit!!!! I do!Beth

Thank you, sweetie!
“These hands tell me so much about what you are, Severus. All that Mark tells me is about what you were.”BINGO! Well said, Teddy.Beth
Response from TeddyRadiator (Author of As Morning Falls)
Thank you. Sempraseverus' beautiful artwork inspired me greatly.
This is sheer poetry: She knew he needed her more than he wanted her and wanted her more than he loved her. The awful tragedy or joy of the matter, however you chose to look at it, was that he did love her. It was a terrible, reluctant love, one that he could no more prevent than he could the inevitable course of the war. I love this description of his love for her.Beth
Response from TeddyRadiator (Author of As Morning Falls)
Thank you. I wanted to convey the love of a man who feels he shouldn't be committing a young woman to him, but is unable to help himself. I think Severus would love deeply, if allowed. I'm writing a little short fic that shows this.
I love that ending. Brilliant way to change those 19 years.
Response from TeddyRadiator (Author of As Morning Falls)
I was never happy with the original Epi, and this chapter was actually the first one of the story I actually wrote. I'm really glad you enjoyed it.
Oh boy, that choked me up! Beautiful writing my friend. Absolutely beautiful!

Thank you so much! I'm really glad you enjoyed the story. This is my favourite fanfic I've ever written.
Incredibly well done. This last chapter made me cry! I haven't done something like that in forever. Such a beautiful story - thank you very much.
Response from TeddyRadiator (Author of As Morning Falls)
Thank you so much! I wrote this Epi first, then built the story around it. This is my favourite fanfic I've written, and I'm really happy others enjoy it as well.
Really a lovely ending.
Love the way they have started anew and how Harry understood. :)
an excellent little story, very moving
Hands down, one of my top 5 favorite stories. Well done!
