I read and write fanfiction as a means of procrastination - it's usually much more interesting than anything that comes my way from uni.

At OWL I'm mw8, but on Ashwinder or Fanfiction.net and now here I'm Paisley Snail.

The beauty of a bed-time conversation is its intimacy. Here, the story unfolds about penises, handling of such and leads towards sex as suggested early on as a necessary remedy. Yet, their conversation is a true intimate point. The facets of the story I acknowledge now have always been there to create a feeling, but this time, I can fully appreciate your skills.

~hugs~ Thank you.

So much for equal footing. You started to shift their dynamics much more rapidly in this chapter and it suits them in a different way. It's a power-play of the watching-the-train-crash kind.

*grin* It must have occurred countless of times in St Mungo's, yet, I see Hermione's difference in perception and the privacy of location as the main difference. I'm looking forward to when he comes back from the bathroom too much. It is such a delightful tale!

Response from Paisley Snail (Author of The P-Word)

~laughs with you~ Of course - how could one not be moved by examining Severus in all his glory? :P

See? This is exactly what I mean. They are already approaching the equal footing. I must admire your skill at setting up this tale. It is humane. Yes, cheeky, given the prompt, funny, given your take on it, but your plot tools make it also very serious in its repercussions. Humane.

Response from Paisley Snail (Author of The P-Word)

~squishes you tight~ Thank you.

On one hand, one must feel a bit of compassion for Hermione's situation. On the other, it is perfect in reversing the healer-patient dynamic to make them stand on equal footing on the other side of the experience. Bringing her cold into the mix gave them a lot of chances for development of their relationship. And as with the quarantine reasons, in my second read-through, I can better appreciate the delicacy of your tale. Excellent work.

Response from Paisley Snail (Author of The P-Word)

~squees and claps hands~ I'm so glad you got what I was trying to do with that! I really didn't want Hermione to be all strong while Severus was so vulnerable - I didn't think that would bring them together...so a cold it was! :)

Marvelous. This chapter is made of gold. The opening scene crashed reality onto Hermione and Severus with a vengeance that Severus was eager to fulfill as soon as he was able to. I loved how he tried to assert his persona, but failed in every single step. Hermione's explanation at the end cemented the great progress. I seem to have missed the crucial mutation in my first read. The quarantine and severity of Severus's condition make more sense now that I'm fully aware of the fact.

Response from Paisley Snail (Author of The P-Word)

~nodsnods~ One of the things I love about SSHG is the coming together of two rather strong personalities.

What did I love the most in this chapter? The French Solution. I bet that once the lust/pain/exhaustion abated in the English population and they had enough strength to think about it, the fact that French provided relief would smart. The best of puns.

Response from Paisley Snail (Author of The P-Word)

~giggles~ Oh yes, there was no coincidence that the French came up with the solution. :P

Finally, I have stumbled upon this little gem of a fic in an archive, and I'm delighted re-reading it as much as I was when I read it first. Where for the first time there was astonishment, now the expectations build. I have been waiting for the whole chapter for Cho's words to be allowed to giggle aloud. And they delivered again. I love it.And thank you for writing such an amusing tale for me at the Exchange.

Response from Paisley Snail (Author of The P-Word)

~hugs~ It was truly my pleasure. I'm so glad that you liked what I came up with!
