I read and write fanfiction as a means of procrastination - it's usually much more interesting than anything that comes my way from uni.
At OWL I'm mw8, but on Ashwinder or Fanfiction.net and now here I'm Paisley Snail.
Reviews for The P-Word
That was lovely. I'm glad they're talking.
Response from Paisley Snail (Author of The P-Word)
Thank you. More talking and other things to come. :)
The poor man! To have a big needle stuck into such a sensitive spot when he is already in excruciating pain there!I like how they are finally relaxing around each other. I'm sure eventually they will try some of that sex/love magic that they mentioned before, if only for "therapeutic" purposes (LOL).I can't wait!
Response from Paisley Snail (Author of The P-Word)
Thank you! A new chapter should be queued shortly. I agree - it would be unconscionable not to at least try the new treatment... And actually, the needle is one of the ways that the barbaric Muggles do it. ~winces~
yippee, now he has to serve her a little.that is nice.and he gets himself some help by a houself. at least Minerva is of some use here.now start brewing!!!
Response from Paisley Snail (Author of The P-Word)
Yes, I like to think that they're both getting something out of this! :)
gorgeous!!this last picture was just priceless.his stalker trying to lick his face.just imagine he would have ended up with that woman!!!your ideas are superbe.quick to the next chapter.them in quarantine!! ouch.
Response from Paisley Snail (Author of The P-Word)
Thank you! I'm glad you liked that little idea. I had a lot of fun with Mrs Parkinson. :)
aha. trying to test on himself. proud potionsmaster got himself into desaster. At least Hermione is here, to see him through.*phew*you describe the pain and suffering so intense, one really feels with him.
Response from Paisley Snail (Author of The P-Word)
Thank you - I'm glad I helped you to feel his pain in the words. That is a wonderful compliment. :)
regarding the task you were given by the prompts you did start a very interesting cleverly built story.eager to read more.
Response from Paisley Snail (Author of The P-Word)
Thank you - yes, I couldn't take the expected route when I saw the prompt. I don't have it in me to write PWP, so I had to come up with something a bit different.
Hermione's need for approval rings very true, as does Snape's complete rejection of any and all offers of help. Things are certainly getting complicated for these two, aren't they?
Response from Paisley Snail (Author of The P-Word)
~squishes~ Indeed - complicated for now, at least. And ah yes, poor Hermione. She is definitely more vulnerable in this fic than in others I've written.
I love it. I don't love Snape being in pain, mind you, but I love the way the story is progressing. I wonder what it will take for Snape to give in and let Hermione help!
Response from Paisley Snail (Author of The P-Word)
~grins~ I don't much like Snape in pain, either! I'm glad you're enjoying it so far, you'll have to wait and see! :)
Worth a try, but warning him might have helped, even if he'd probably have said no. :)
Response from Paisley Snail (Author of The P-Word)
~nodsnods~ Totally agree. Hermione isn't quite her usual self, I'm afraid...
Severus was more than happy to let her disappear and fester in as small a space as possible.Every chapter has such great lines in it! It was hard to choose a favorite this time around--Severus truly is the King of Snark. And yet, there he is making chicken soup and now Pepper Up potions...I'm sure it's only because he's selfishly concerned about his own health. Right... I think after all this time, he's still subconsciously in the habit of taking care of former students. Although I suspect he would have engaged in an experimental door-slam had it been Neville Longbottom in Hermione's place!
Response from Paisley Snail (Author of The P-Word)
~gigglesnort~ LOL - for a second, the bunnies leapt at the idea of how this story would have turned out if it was Neville rather than hermione who got sick! Then they decided that they didn't want to write either slash or a gruesome murder. Thanks so much for leaving a comment.
"If she hadn’t tried to lick your face when she thought I wasn’t looking, I might even have approved it."I nearly snorted soda out of my nose when I read that! Oh, poor Severus...this goes way beyond stalking! On the other hand, being quarantined with Hermione looks better and better when compared to that possibility. Even if he is made to wear a smiley-face t-shirt.I look forward to seeing how the "control freak" deals with having a roommate for the next several days!
Response from Paisley Snail (Author of The P-Word)
~grins~ Mrs Parkinson makes her own rules. And yes, Severus needs to count life's little blessings. :)
Hahaha! This just keeps getting better. What a situation they're in, and yet each is perfectly IC. I especially love that Snape's not so good at Transfiguration. There had to be something he wasn't aces at. Eagerly awaiting more ...
Response from Paisley Snail (Author of The P-Word)
~glomps~ I'm really glad you think they're IC. I also got a particular thrill out of making Snape bad at something. I suppose the other way to break out of the mould would have been to make him a Seer or something. :)
I just found this today. It's hilarious and delightful. I love how the tables have turned and he is playing nurse to her.I can hardly wait for more.
Response from Paisley Snail (Author of The P-Word)
Thank you! I hope you enjoy the rest - and yes, it is nice that they have to help each other out in this fic. Nothing like a little bit of balance. :)
oh dear. poor things! Enjoyable chapter. I look forward to more!
Response from Paisley Snail (Author of The P-Word)
Thank you! Yes, I feel sorry for them also. More is in the queue. :)
Whew! Lucky! :)
Response from Paisley Snail (Author of The P-Word)
Hahaha - I think they need a little luck just to help things along. :)
At least he is relaxing more with her now. :)
Response from Paisley Snail (Author of The P-Word)
~nods~ Slowly, slowly does it...at least for now... :)
Yay! An update. And what an alarming turn things have taken. Still, the conversation that began this chapter, as well as the insight you gave into Snape's neat-freakery, really made me giggle. Well done. :)
Response from Paisley Snail (Author of The P-Word)
Thank you! I'm glad that it made you giggle. Things may get slightly more alarming before they get better, though. :S
oh dear. Poor things, both of them! I'm glad they have Scampy.
Response from Paisley Snail (Author of The P-Word)
Yes - it's frightening to think that without the elf, they would be looking at starvation. I think life has been cruel enough to Severus particularly without making him suffer through that as well! :)
Response from mimmom (Reviewer)
Any story that tries to take into account all that Severus has suffered is ok by me. I am getting ready to read the last book to my daughter. I expect I will blubber through the whole damn thing unless we listen to the CD. She is 10 years old but we still enjoy reading together. I usually read to her and we've read most of the potter books over the last few years. I don't want her to watch the last films without having heard the books first. I dread reading "The Prince's Tale" again. Well, sort of. I mean, I love that part of the book as painful as it is. LOL.
I have to say that I am totally intrigued by this storyline. I love the humor you have added to a very 'painful' situation. I'll definitely be looking foreward to reading how Hermione and Snape deal with things. Keep up the great writing.
Response from Paisley Snail (Author of The P-Word)
Thank you for the kind words. I really hope you like the rest! :)
However, this picture of superiority was completely ruined by the fact that instead of his usual crisp black robes, the professor was dressed in an old t-shirt of her father’s with a big, yellow smiley face on the front that said ‘Smile!’.*dies of LOL*This entire situation is ridiculous, and yet you've pulled it off so smoothly. I feel for both of them, seeing as how they're each in an impossible position, and yet I'm sooo enjoying watching how they work it out. I eagerly await the next installment. :)
Response from Paisley Snail (Author of The P-Word)
~glomps~ Thank you for ALL your kind words. I'm really glad you like it. :)
Hermione's perspective adds a fresh dimension. She's very much her same clinical self, but with a great deal of maturity--very believable, in other words. There's that same current of humour here, but now it's tinged with the right degree of seriousness to create real conflict. Great work!
Response from Paisley Snail (Author of The P-Word)
~hugs you again~ Thanks for the wonderful compliments. Indeed - all that 'research' left me with a rather awful impression of the illness. Just didn't have it in me to keep the entire thing light while poor Severus was suffering. :)
Darling, this is hilarious! (I can only imagine the research that went into writing this story.) The dry humour underlying this whole chapter is very fitting, and the different POVs that you began with really put things in perspective.I really adore your Snape, though. His dispassionate voice narrating this whole ridiculous situation makes it such a treat.
Response from Paisley Snail (Author of The P-Word)
~squishes you tight~ Ahahahaha some of the research bordered on the ~cough~ pronographic ~cough~. I'm absolutely dizzy with happiness that you like my Snape. :D
"Hermione was just glad that he hadn’t popped a blood vessel instead."LOL, hilarious =D
Response from Paisley Snail (Author of The P-Word)
~beams~ I'm glad you're finding it amusing. Thanks for the review.
oh dear. Poor things. I am SOO enjoying this story. Please update quickly!!!!!
Response from Paisley Snail (Author of The P-Word)
Thank you! Yes, I will put the chapters up as quick as I can. :)
I love this story so far! Can't wait to read the next chapter!
Response from Paisley Snail (Author of The P-Word)
Thank you! I'm glad you're enjoying it.
