Trust Luna to marry someone who doesn't exist.
Author's Notes: The Thin Man was written for bethbethbeth during the Snuna Exchange on Livejournal. Her prompt was: Everybody's intrigued when The Quibbler announces the marriage of Associate Editor Luna Lovegood to naturalist "Rolf Scamander," especially when they remember Newt Scamander and his wife Porpentina never had children or grandchildren.
Many thanks to the wonderful Melusin for the invaluable help as beta and Britpicker. This is a slightly extended version; any remaining errors are entirely my own.

What a perfect chapter for this pair! Washing the hair in a pensieve *rofl* - brilliant idea.
I love the line with Dumbledore, the rasperry jam and the death of Severus.
Author's Response: Thank you sooo much for this lovely review!
I hope you'll enjoy the next chapters too. :)
Ewwww, raspberry poos! :0
Response from duniazade (Author of The Thin Man)
Well, when distilled by an excellent Potions master, they smell deliciously... ;-)
Luna is so awesome. :)
Response from duniazade (Author of The Thin Man)
Oh, yes, she is. :)Thank you for staying with the story!
So is Aunt Fickle really Luna's aunt, or is (was) she known as "Aunt Fickle" by everybody who knew her? I'm really hoping that she's actually family, because it just seems like the sort of family that Luna would have and because it would also mean that there would be no problem for the two of them to continue to stay at the mansion.Washing Sev's hair in a Pensieve! I love it! I'm interested to find out if it does indeed loosen up any ideas in his twisty little Slytherin head, and also to discover more about his and Luna's relationship to each other. His ranting just sails serenely past Luna, so she's either quite used to it by now or she just refuses to take him all that seriously. I can't wait to find out which!
Response from duniazade (Author of The Thin Man)
Aunt Fickle is definitely Luna's aunt, but that doesn't mean there will be no problem for Severus and Luna... *evil cackle*I'm glad you liked the washing of Severus' hair in the Pensieve - I'll admit a fondness for that moment. As to the loosening and all that... we'll see. The next chapters are coming!Thank you for the lovely review. :D
That was a ludicrously short chapter! Write more! Please.
Response from duniazade (Author of The Thin Man)
The next chapters are in the queue, but they're just as ludicrously short. Sorry! I thought I'd better warn you so that you won't be disappointed.
LOL. very good. Poor Snape. Luna is never phased by anything, though. I expect her calm in the face of pretty much everything and anything is exactly what Snape needs, though.
Response from duniazade (Author of The Thin Man)
Thank you! I'm so glad you're still enjoying this. :)
Original, intriguing, beautifully written and very probably unique - you really have got a style all of your own, and it never seems contrived in any way. Your writing really stands out from the crowd.
Response from duniazade (Author of The Thin Man)
Yaaay! You've just made me very happy.Thank you so much! Praise from you is such a boost of energy for trying new and hopefully fun things.

Again, such delightful and inventive details! Using a wormhole is brillant! And the Harpyria and for what she is used, or rather what she produces... priceless! :o))) Poor, poor Severus, WHAT a fate! I CAN'T wait to read an and se that he - hopefully? is ok!
Author's Response: Thank you so much! I'm thrilled you're enjoying the details - I had a lot of fun with them.
As to Severus' fate... the next chapters are in the queue!

What a lovely start into a wonderful story! All these details yo put there together are very promising indeed.
Author's Response: Thank you so much! The next chapters are ready and I hope you'll enjoy them too.
LoL! Keep going! I'll be your cheerleader!
Response from duniazade (Author of The Thin Man)
Hee! Thanks. No problem, the next chapters are already written.*loves the pompoms*
Oh NO, poor Severus with weird magical bird crap up his nose and matting his hair and probably a bump on the head. Agg, that's a bit of a cliffy. Can't wait for the next chapter!!
Response from duniazade (Author of The Thin Man)
Yes, evil cliffie! *g*Next chapter is coming... I'm not telling what happens!
This has me intrigued. I will read more! Luna is a wonderful character. She accepts everyone and apparently has no malice at all. She's quietly brilliant but possibly covers this with her slightly odd behavior so people conveniently underestimate her. Seems like she could do well with Snape.
Response from duniazade (Author of The Thin Man)
Oh, yes, Luna is wonderful! "Quietly brilliant" defines her perfectly and like you, I think she may cover this with her odd behaviour. *nods*Thank you very much! The next chapters are already in the queue and I hope you'll enjoy them. :)
How incrediblely original and imaginative. You have woven a compelling begining to this tale. I have to Favourite it so I may read more!
Response from duniazade (Author of The Thin Man)
Thank you so much! I'm very glad you're enjoying Luna and Severus' adventures. The next chapters are already in the queue. :)
How did she ever find him? :)
Response from duniazade (Author of The Thin Man)
Ah, who knows... But the question is, will they be able to stay together? There are lots of Adventure in store for them. Next chapter already in the queue!Thank you for reading and reviewing!
Luna is one of my very favorite characters in the HP books, and I adore reading about her with just about anyone of the male persuasion. Fickle Mansion sounds utterly delightful; if the grounds are that amazing, what must the interior be like? I can just imagine a place like that having been in Luna's family for generations--it's exactly the sort of thing Xenophilius would have owned, but just considered it too big for only Luna and himself living there.I look forward to reading more, especially of how Luna managed to wear down Severus' grouchy demeanor!
Response from duniazade (Author of The Thin Man)
What a lovely review! I'm delighted to know that you like Luna too, and very glad that you enjoyed this!Thank you so much. There's another chapter already in the queue and we'll learn more about Fickle Mansion. The story is complete, and I'll post as fast as I can.
Your writing is beautiful and original - I'm really looking forward to reading more.
Response from duniazade (Author of The Thin Man)
Hee, we've just cross-reviewed. I'm still in giddy bliss over "Dear January."Thank you very much! There is another chapter in the queue.
This is the first Snuna I've read, and what a delight it is! A story that's all description, history and observation, written with precision and gorgeous images. I just wish I could join Snape and Luna at Fickle Mansion. Some favorites: the idea of Snape sneaking out into Muggle London but never wizarding territory; "boring, reassuring routine entwined with renewed surprise." I'd love to hear how Snape and Luna came to be in possession of the house.
Response from duniazade (Author of The Thin Man)
Oh, I'm glad I could lure you to the Snuna side!Thank you very much for the lovely review. There are already two more chapters in the queue, so I think there will be more details about Fickle House. ;-)
