There's not much to say, really. I'm a thirty year-old mother of three, married for seven years, I live in the Southeastern US, I'm a newly graduated Registered Nurse, and I'm absolutely enthralled with Severus Snape. It was my love for Alan Rickman that inititally brought me to love the character of Snape so much, and I adore everything he (Alan Rickman) has ever done, stage or screen. I've been in the fandom for around three years now, and have loved every minute of it.
Reviews for Faith of the Fallen
Voldemort certainly knows where to strike to hit the hardest.
Response from BulletTimeScully (Author of Faith of the Fallen)
Indeed he does... which makes revenge even sweeter in the end...
He's had way too much to drink, but why? :)
Response from BulletTimeScully (Author of Faith of the Fallen)
You'll find out soon... thanks for R&R! :)
OMG! I don't know how Hermione or Severus have survived this terrible time. I understand how Severus' fear of Voldemort killing her would drive him to make the decision that they would no longer be lovers. And I understand why Hermione would not make love to him when he had had so much to drink... when he woke the next morning, his guilt at putting her in danger once more would have made him send her away again. How difficult it must be for them to be Master and Apprentice after having been lovers. I blame that damnable, snake-faced wizard for all of this loss and hurt and pain, and I look forward to the day when one or both of them will lead him to his death.I love the way you describe their conversations and emotional interactions. There is tension in the air between them. I can almost see the warring taking place inside each of them as they try to maintain their sanity and their distance. You go, girl! Well done.Beth

Thank you so much! You're right... snake-face is definitely to blame... but I'm usually a happy ending kind of gal, even if it will be a long time in coming. ;) I'm glad you're getting the vibe of the tension between them... that's what I was striving for... so I feel better now that you've mentioned it. Thanks again for reading and for the (as always) great review!
wow great scene, you write very well.
Response from BulletTimeScully (Author of Faith of the Fallen)
Thanks! I had a lot of fun with that chapter... hehe...
If this is your first piece you should have been writing a long time. Its very good!!!
Response from BulletTimeScully (Author of Faith of the Fallen)
Thank you so much! It's very inspiring to hear that one of my favorite authors likes my little tale! 'Raven' and 'From Death to Life Again' are two of my absolute favorite fics! Thanks again for the R&R!
She must go after him, very intreguing (sp)?
Response from BulletTimeScully (Author of Faith of the Fallen)
Thanks! She wouldn't be Hermione if she didn't.... ;)
wow I have read this chapter before...maybe I didn't follow the whole story or I didn't see the updates... curious to see whats next
Response from BulletTimeScully (Author of Faith of the Fallen)
Thanks... I'm glad you're enjoying it so far! :)
KNOWING HOW THEY EACH OTHER, AND THAT LOVE MADE A CHILD THAT TOOK FROM THEM THATS PAIN PLEASE DONT LEAVE THEM LIKE THAT. GOOD CHAPTER.
Response from BulletTimeScully (Author of Faith of the Fallen)
Don't worry... things are very dark right now and will be for a while, but I'm a happy ending kind of gal... ;) Thanks for the R&R!
My heart is breaking for them both. To have lost their child, the dream they created with each other, is the cruelest of punishments that Voldemort could have devised. This chapter filled in so much back story, but I'll wager there's more to learn. I still have so many questions. Were/are Severus and Hermione married? Do they remain apart from each other because to be together would invite further wrath from the Dark Lord? How old was Aislinn when the evil bastard took her life? Did he make her parents watch as he killed her? I hope Severus and Hermione will able to exact an equally horrible revenge upon that foul and murderous wizard. What a great tapestry you're weaving out of so many different threads! I love a good mystery, and this one certainly has all the hallmarks.Beth
Response from BulletTimeScully (Author of Faith of the Fallen)
I know... as a mom myself, I almost didn't go this route with the story, but I think that in the end, that part of their lives had to happen in order for some of the future events to take place. You're very right that it is the cruelest punishment he could have devised. You're also on the right track about the reason they're not really together at this point... The next few chapters will include several flashbacks that explain even more of their past. Eventually, we'll meet in the middle and the story will progress from the present. I'm so thrilled that you're still enjoying the story! Every week I look forward to reading your reviews! *hugs* Thanks so much for R&R!!
Oh, how heart breaking. You truly bring the pathos out of these two. Really beautifully done, although I hate to see them both so horribly miserable.
Response from BulletTimeScully (Author of Faith of the Fallen)
I hate to see them that way as well. They both have so much darkness and pain in their lives... they need each other, but they have to get past the trauma of what happened before they can truly be together... if that makes any sense. :) Thank you so much for the R&R! It helps keep me motivated and inspired! *hugs*
Yay! I finally got my time worked out to read this chapter. I've had it bookmarked on my cell to read at lunch time at work, but I kept getting interrupted.I wonder what had kept Severus from meeting Hermione earlier? He seemed to be lost in a confusion of thoughts and emotions. One minute he seemed to know what he was doing, and the next he was lost to her. I wonder if he had been summoned and had just come away from a meeting of the Death Eaters and Lord Voldemort. Now he has taken his leave of her, and I hope she will follow him. She's come this far and I trust she will seek him out.I'm looking forward to the next chapter. It's great that you have more chapters already written!!!Beth
Response from BulletTimeScully (Author of Faith of the Fallen)
Thanks so much for the R&R! We find out more in the next chapter about the previous relationship between them. There is a huge back story that has to be told before we know everything, but all questions will be answered in time. As for Severus' confusion... he's simply had waayyy too much to drink. Will she follow? We shall see... the next chapter is in the queue! Thanks again!! *hugs*
I could kick myself. So many times I will not read a story until it is almost done. I wish I had not waited with yours and I am happy to see you have nine chapters done already. I think the prolouge could have stood as a one shot but I am very glad you have chosen to write more. I like your Hermione, I always thought she was as much of a rule breaker as the boys were. Great tension in these chapters sexual and realtionship wise. I can't wait to find out the answers as to why Severus is so distant and when they finally come together.
Response from BulletTimeScully (Author of Faith of the Fallen)
Thank you very much! I hope you enjoy the rest as well!
Hermione's fear and anger was so alive, like a nest of serpents that want to escape from each other but are too afraid of what lies outside this familiar knot of bodies. When she threw the vial of Dreamless Sleep against the wall and uttered the invective, “Damn him... Damn him to the ninth circle of Hell…” I didn't yet know who was the target of her violent denunciation. I could see her being angry with Harry for not being around, or Snape for being a Death Eater, or Voldemort for being himself. But when I put the last line together with what I'd read before, I wondered if she weren't upset because Severus wasn't there with her. Clearly I don't yet have a handle on what is going on, but one thing is certain... I can't wait for the next update! Well done!Beth
Response from BulletTimeScully (Author of Faith of the Fallen)
Thank you so much! You're on the right track concerning Severus... I hope you continue to enjoy things! I currently have nine chapters already written, so you won't have to wait too long...
Don't... stop? ;)
Response from BulletTimeScully (Author of Faith of the Fallen)
Hehe... thank you... and I couldn't if I wanted to... ;)
And so it began... After I read this chapter, I went back and reread the Prologue, and then read this chapter again. The arc of this story covers so much, and all I could think about is the scene in my mind's eye of the last sentence in the Prologue and the last sentence in this Chapter 13.Prologue: As he finally gave himself over to the peace of dreams, his last waking vision was that of her small, delicate forearm resting atop his stomach and the dark form of a skull and serpent writhing slowly in the dying firelight. Chapter 13: They would grow so fast and so fierce that eventually, in one moment of weakness, in one single act of naïve desperation, she would do something that would change both of their lives forever. I can only imagine what Severus and Hermione still have to face in their bid for the victory of the Light over the Darkness. Danger seems to be around every corner, and each path is tinged with the possibility of death for both of them. I can't wait to find out what happens next! I'm still lovin' this story to pieces. *In the meantime, I'm sending good wishes for your final exam*~hugs and squishes~Beth
Response from BulletTimeScully (Author of Faith of the Fallen)
Thank you so much, as always, Beth! You're right... they do have many more things to go through to get to the ultimate goal: triumph of Light over Darkness. I'm working on the next chapter... and we're rapidly approaching the turning point in the story. Strangely enough, when I wrote that last sentence, I only had one thing in mind (I won't tell you if your guess is correct or not though... hehe...), but now I believe it could mean more than that. We'll have to see how it comes around... Thanks again! Your reviews never cease to make me feel like this story is worth writing. *hugs*
I am in love with this story! Can't wait to read more and see how the prologue comes in!
Response from BulletTimeScully (Author of Faith of the Fallen)
Thank you so much! Sorry it took so long to reply... real life and all... We're slowly working our way to the prologue. Actually, the turning point in the story is not too far away. The next chapter will set the story in motion towards it. I hope you keep enjoying things!
This story just breaks my heart. Having Hermione take the Dark Mark to be with him is beyond anything one could imagine. I am overwhelmed with emotion, this chapter really got to me. (sigh)
Response from BulletTimeScully (Author of Faith of the Fallen)
Thank you so much! Don't worry... all is not lost, I promise. I love a HEA, even though they may have to go through hell to get there. You're right, Hermione taking the Dark Mark, going against all her beliefs and everything she stands for, speaks volumes about her love for Severus. It would have to be a last resort... I hope you continue to enjoy!
I love that song and it is EXTREMELY FITTING here (finally, someone found a purpose for the song, I always thought that the song explained their love). The story was fantastic BTW!
Response from BulletTimeScully (Author of Faith of the Fallen)
Thank you so much! 'Angel' is one of my favorite songs... it's so full of sorrow and desperation... I'm glad someone else thinks like I do... that it expresses their love for one another... thanks again!
This prologue is marvelous, and I'm so glad you decided to expand the story! It's well written, and filled with teases and hints of things that happened leading up to Voldemort's victory. You've set an intriguing foundation to build you tale upon, and I can't wait to see where you take our Hermione and Severus. Well done! I would never have guessed this is your first venture into fanfic writing. If I were a capable beta I would offer to help you, but, alas, I do not have those requisite skills. However, I do urge you to continue to weave this tapestry to its completion... it is a very good beginning!Beth
Response from BulletTimeScully (Author of Faith of the Fallen)
Thank you very much! Finding that readers like my little story helps so much to keep me inspired!
This was truly beautifully written. Although set in dark times and with a dark ending, their love for one another and devotion to each other shone through.I too am interested as to how they got here and what life is like... why it's so horrible, and why Hermione wasn't killed, despite her 'wanting' to take the mark. This is my favorite Sarah McLaughlin song, and I think it suits the story very well.
Response from BulletTimeScully (Author of Faith of the Fallen)
Thank you so much! I tried my best to show how truly devoted they are to one another... despite such dark and evil times. I'm so glad you like it!
Wow! What a great first fanfiction. What a great prologue. Really reached out and grabbed me. You could really feel the love and desperation between Hermione and Severus. Looking forward to more!
Response from BulletTimeScully (Author of Faith of the Fallen)
Thank you very much! Yes, their relationship is definetely one of desperation... mostly because they do not know how long they will have together. With the world as it is... they could loose their lives so easily,so they cherish each moment fully. I promise to have the next chapter up soon! :)
This is really neat.
Response from BulletTimeScully (Author of Faith of the Fallen)
Thanks very much! So glad you liked it! :)
There are several stories I've seen with the idea of Death Eater Hermione... but this seems like the best written one yet. Lovely work sweetie :D
Response from BulletTimeScully (Author of Faith of the Fallen)
Thanks so much! I've been looking for stories with DE Hermione... I've only found one so far and it's extremely dark... but good! :)
Wow, this was an awesome first fanfiction for you. I can't wait for any all updates. I would love to know how Hermione arrived at the situation where she not bears the Dark Mark and I hope you fill us in on the night that Severus referres to as the night he almost traded his life for hers. Once again, Great Job.
Response from BulletTimeScully (Author of Faith of the Fallen)
Thank you very much!! I'm so very glad you liked my first attempt! Don't worry... everything will be explained... as soon as I can find a Beta! :)
Oh, I liked this one. There is so much potential for angst and psychological repercussions for both their decisions to serve the darkness for the sake of the light. Well written. I look forward to an expansion on this idea.
Response from BulletTimeScully (Author of Faith of the Fallen)
Thank you so much! Oh yes...angst and psychological turmoil abound in upcoming chapters... ;)
