Eh, I'm too boring to have a proper bio.
Reviews for Filling in the Spaces
Poor Dudley! He's spent so many years being coddled and following along in his father's footsteps, that it's hard for him to think different thoughts now. But he's trying, and I hope for Vernon's sake that he tries to change too or he may lose both Petunia and Dudley.
Response from JackieJLH (Author of Filling in the Spaces)
Yes, Dudley is finally starting to have to think for himself a little, and I think it'd be really hard to do after always just going along with whatever his parents say his entire life. Especially because he's seeing his parents disagree about something important, continually and seemingly endlessly, for probably the first time. *hugs Dudley* And you're right about Vernon--he'd better wake up soon, or he's going to find himself very alone.
I really enjoyed reading this story so far. I like how Petunia and Hestia are becoming friends. I always wondered what happened to the Dursleys during the 7th book and after the war. I wondered if any of them even talked to harry once. Now I hope I can find out! Keep up the good work, it's wonderful!

Thank you!! I too always wondered what happened to the Dursleys, and since Jo never gave us anything, I decided to write my own story. Lol. And it's been incredibly fun writing Petunia, and especially writing Hestia. She's the sort of friend that everyone needs--loving and accepting and thoughtful, and just a little silly. Lol.
Good job so far. I hope to read some more soon.

I'm glad you're enjoying it! :D The next chapter should be up in a day or so. :)
I really enjoyed this chapter.
Response from JackieJLH (Author of Filling in the Spaces)
Thanks! It was one of my favorite to write!
Interesting beginning.
Response from JackieJLH (Author of Filling in the Spaces)
Thank you!! :D
Cute, very enjoyable.

*grins* Thanks!
How sad. Petunia is going through some changes. Some willingly and some not. Her growth as a person is going to be the death knell of her marriage (small loss in my opinion, but probably not hers). Unless her husband is Obliviated I suspect a divorce is in order.
Response from JackieJLH (Author of Filling in the Spaces)
They definitely are growing apart--or rather, she's growing and he's not, which is causing problems for them. I think Petunia would cling on to that marriage for quite a while, just because he and Dudley are really all she has at the moment. That may change in the future, but at the moment, she's not about to let him go if she can help it, despite knowing that things really can't get all that much better without a lot of more effort on his part than he's willing to give. :(
A lovely story about Petunia and how she would have had to manage. The boredom really must have been awful and her reaction to it - doing the laundry, cleaning the attic and even reading wizarding books - is so true to her character I feel. Her relationship with Hestia is touching and you show her perceptions changing ever so slowly but clearly too. I really like this I can't understand why more people haven't reviewed it.
Response from JackieJLH (Author of Filling in the Spaces)
Thank you so much! I'm glad that Petunia's reactions seem true to her. :) She's a really interesting character to write!
Reading your story makes it much easier to feel compassion for Petunia.
Response from JackieJLH (Author of Filling in the Spaces)
Yay! *happily spreads the Petunia-tolerance*
Vernon is such an ass. I can only hope that Petunia can save Dudley from becominglike his father.
Response from JackieJLH (Author of Filling in the Spaces)
He really, really is. I don't know how she put up with him for all those years. Lol.
I do believe that was the death knell for that marriage.Great story so far.Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
Response from JackieJLH (Author of Filling in the Spaces)
It really should be, at least. Lol. Glad you're enjoying it!! :DHope you have a great Thanksgiving as well!

Hit him, Dudley! You're school boxing champion!
Author's Response: LOL, wouldn't that be awesome? :D

I'm digging dud, and i think you should have the vern-meister imperiused to say he loves harry potter and magic and he wants to marry magic - and have dud video it. and then unimperius him. and then make him watch it.
Author's Response: LOL. That would be awesome. I think Dudley would totally participate in that at this point, too. :D Petunia might even help.

please let him get eaten by a nargle.
Author's Response: I think you'd need more than one nargle. He's kind of a big guy. *grins at mental image of Vernon being mauled by an army of nargles*
Alright, I never thought it would happen but I'm starting to feel sorry for Petunia. That my dear is a compliment.
Response from JackieJLH (Author of Filling in the Spaces)
*grins* I know it probably shouldn't make me so happy to hear that, but it totally did!
Petunia has to play with that set with Dudley. Talking pieces should be able to teach Dudley the game and perhaps something more...
Response from JackieJLH (Author of Filling in the Spaces)
You're right, Dudley could definitely learn a lot from that chess set! We haven't seen the last of the chatty little chessmen, I promise! :D
I can't wait to find out who the little boy who's belongings are in the attic is and what happened to him. Great story
Response from JackieJLH (Author of Filling in the Spaces)
Thank you!! The answers about the little boy will be in the next chapter. :D
Oh - you witch! That wasn't nice! What a place to leave it. *stalks off in a huff.... *mumbles over shoulder, "see if I share my truffles with you!" *sara's muse laughs at her antics and tells Jackie - Don't worry--I brought a box incase she decided to not play nice. She likes it, but she's not very good with cliffies. *smiles It was very good, even with the cliffie. I would ask if we are going to see more of Dudley standing up for his mother, but I doubt you would tell us anyway, so I won't. *Surreptitiously checks to see if Muse delivered enough truffles...and piles on a few more.
Response from JackieJLH (Author of Filling in the Spaces)
*is evil* Lol. The next chapter will be up in a day or so, I promise. Probably Tuesday because tomorrow I won't really be around at all. :)
Good chapter! Next one, please? Pretty please? I like that you've involved Dudley, and Vernon, more (though Vernon is nothing but a huge prat!), and added more dialogue.
Response from JackieJLH (Author of Filling in the Spaces)
Thank you!! The next one will be up in another day or two. :)
Well, I wonder what Dudley, who is finally showing signs of thinking for himself, thinks of his father's words and behavior?
Response from JackieJLH (Author of Filling in the Spaces)
Probably nothing good, I'd imagine. Petunia won't really find out exactly what Dudley thinks of all of this for quite a few chapters yet, but rest assured, Dudley is not feeling too impressed with his father right now.
"Her" worthless nephew! He married into the family! Harry became as much his as hers! Oh - that man pisses me off. Can you really hurt him sometime soon>? Pretty please? There'll be extra chocolates if you can... *sighs... Sara
Response from JackieJLH (Author of Filling in the Spaces)
LOL. It's so tempting to just beat the crap out of him, isn't it?
I suspect Hestia will be a good friend to Petunia when Vernon is dealt with.
Response from JackieJLH (Author of Filling in the Spaces)
I agree! Petunia needs friends; I'm not really sure that she's had any, besides Vernon, in quite a few years. And really, Vernon... not the best option for a friend.
I started reading this story on a lark, and have kept reading it because it is very engaging. This installment was especially good. Thanks for posting, and I look forward to more.
Response from JackieJLH (Author of Filling in the Spaces)
I'm glad this story caught your interest! It's been two years in the making, and I always get excited when someone tells me they're enjoying it. :) It's long, but pretty much finished, just going through a beta read before posting, so the chapters will come fairly quickly!

Poor king. :(
Author's Response: He'll get a reprieve! Well, eventually. Lol.
Awww, what a place to stop! Petunia should give Vernon the boot.
Response from JackieJLH (Author of Filling in the Spaces)
Lol. She really should. He's... frustrating. To put it mildly.
